18. About Doubt

"I still can't believe we accepted the cooperation project with Vernon." Sam broke the silence on the way to her house.

"Didn't you agree to it?" Leo asked.

"Yes, I did agree to it. I'm also confused about why I was influenced by Ana's words." Sam laughed wryly.

"Hey, don't blame Ana. After all, what Ana said has a point. We should give her a chance." Leo defended Ana.

"Yeah, right. That's why I'm affected by Ana's words." Sam didn't blame Ana.

"This isn't Vernon's house. Where did Vernon take Ana? This isn't Vernon's father's house." Leo asked Sam as he looked outside the car.

"Of course it's not Vernon's father's house. How could Vernon kidnap a woman and bring her to his father's house, you're weird." Sam replied curtly.

"So whose house is this? Is it Vernon's house?" asked Leo curiously.

"Of course it is. Vernon has a lot of money even though he doesn't work. His father has a lot of money and is wealthy," Sam replied.

Then Leo nodded in understanding.

"Sometimes I'm confused. Why is it that at our age Moon Gooddes hasn't given us a mate yet?" Leo said suddenly.

Sam gave Leo a quick glance. "Why are you suddenly talking like that?" Sam asked.

"You know what? This crazy wolf keeps charging me to find Luna. She only has mate mate mate on her mind. Even I'm sick of hearing about it." Leo confided in Sam.

Sam laughed. "Just enjoy the flow that the Moon Goddes gives you. When the time comes, we will also meet our mate. A Luna isn't that important to me anyway."

"Yes to you, Sam. For this crazy wolf? This crazy wolf is obsessed with Luna." Leo looked annoyed.

"Who knows if we might not be destined to have mates? Can we?" Sam voiced his opinion.

"I think so too. Life without a mate isn't so bad after all." Leo nodded in agreement with what Sam said.

"Until when do we stay with Ana?" Sam asked Leo.

Leo wrinkled his forehead. "Why are you asking that?"

"I'm just asking. Isn't that a fair question?" Sam asked back.

"I think we should just let Ana stay with us. Until Ana herself wants to leave our house. You know what? Ana's presence makes our lives more colorful. I feel that. If it's just the two of us with you, it's very boring. If Ana is there, it's fun." Leo explained his opinion.

Sam snorted. "But isn't it dangerous to get too close to humans?" Sam asked.

"Aren't we pretty close to the Vernon family too? They're humans too." Leo replied.

"Of course it's different. We're close to the Vernon family because of our work relationship. Nothing more. It's a different story with Ana. We even live under the same roof as Ana. That's too close." Sam explained to Leo.

"Then what's the problem? The important thing is that you don't turn into a wolf, that's enough. Ana will never know that we're actually werewolves." Leo was annoyed that Sam seemed to disapprove of Ana living with them.

"Why do you think so short-sightedly? You don't even think about the risks involved." Sam was also annoyed that Leo always disagreed with him.

"Why are you thinking too long? There will always be risks. It's just that we have to handle it so that it doesn't become a problem." Leo turned Sam's words around.

Sam growled in annoyance. "You always do that!" It seemed like Sam was tired of arguing with Leo.

"You're always like that too. Always thinking about things that haven't happened yet. Why are you thinking like that? It only burdens your mind. It's better to just live with what we're facing right now. No need to worry too much, worrying too much is not good." Leo spoke at length to Sam.

"Don't you like Ana?" Leo asked Sam.

"Can't you accept Ana being our friend?" Leo asked again.

"Even though you know yourself that Ana is a good girl. She can even change your mind and decisions with her positive influence." Leo spoke again.

Sam sighed. "It's up to you. But one thing is for sure, if something is going to happen someday, don't regret your decision."

"I won't. I won't regret a decision that makes me happy. Being friends with Ana makes me happy and I like that." Leo smiled, he really liked Ana it seemed.

Leo and Sam's journey had been going on for 30 minutes. And now they had arrived at the address that Vernon had sent.

"What is this place, a house? I've never seen this before." Leo got out of the car while looking around.

Sam ignored Leo. Sam walked into the house.

In front of the house, there were many bodyguards standing guard. They saluted when Sam and Leo arrived. It seemed like the bodyguards already knew from Leo that there would be people coming here.

Sam and Leo entered the house. "Where are they?" Leo asked.

Sam walked up to the bodyguards inside the house. "Where are they?" Sam asked the bodyguard.

"They're in the room upstairs." The bodyguard replied politely.

After hearing that answer, Sam went straight to the upstairs room. Leo also followed Sam from behind.

"Why does it have to be in the upstairs room? There are rooms downstairs too." Leo asked himself.

Sam opened the door to the room he suspected was the one with Vernon and Ana in it. And yes, Sam's guess was right.

When the door was opened, Sam immediately saw Vernon and Ana laughing while playing games.

Sam entered the room, followed by Leo.

"Oh so this is what you guys are doing? kidnapping? what kidnapping? even you guys are having fun while playing games." Leo entered while reprimanding Ana and Vernon who hadn't been aware of his and Sam's arrival.

Ana immediately looked towards the source of the voice. "Sam... Leo .... You guys have arrived." Ana stood up, she walked over to Sam and Leo.

"You wouldn't know if I didn't make a sound. You were busy playing games with your kidnapper." Leo insinuated Ana.

"Hahaha... the game was so exciting that I got sucked into the game." Ana laughed at herself.

Vernon walked up to Leo and Sam. "Hi." Leo greeted awkwardly.

"Thank you for accepting the project cooperation with my company. I'm also sorry for the trouble I've caused you." Vernon spoke shyly.

"Why do you look shy? You usually have no shame." Leo teased.

Ana immediately elbowed Leo in the stomach. "It's you!" hissed Ana softly.

"We'll take our leave. See you at the project meeting later." Sam said goodbye to Vernon.

"That was quick, stop by first. Would you guys like to have dinner here or play a game with me?" Vernon offered.

"Want to--"

"No, I don't. You'd better learn about the project. There's no need to waste time playing games."

Just now Ana wanted to answer in the affirmative, but Sam had already cut her off.

"Then we'll leave first. Good night." Sam pulled Ana's hand and led her out of the room.

Leo laughed at Vernon. "Take it easy. You know what Sam is like."

"Then I'll take my leave. Good night." Leo said goodbye to Vernon, and after that Leo immediately followed Ana and Sam who had left first.
