12. Ana Disappears

"Sam, where's Leo? Is he home yet?" Ana asked Sam.

After the beach vacation yesterday, Ana and Sam became closer, they were like friends. Although sometimes there was a little strange and awkward feeling.

"Leo is busy with his work." Sam replied, his eyes still busy looking at his cell phone.

"Didn't you and Leo work together? Why are you guys separated at a time like this?" Ana asked again.

"Yes, we do work together. But our tasks are different. Besides, do Leo and I have to be together everywhere? Don't we?" Sam was still casually answering Ana's question while using his cell phone.

"What kind of work is Leo doing? Why is Leo taking so long to come home? He hasn't informed me either." Ana asked Sam again.

"Who did you ask Leo to tell?" Sam asked casually.

Sam's question seemed casual, but it pierced Ana's heart. Ana's chest felt like it had been stabbed by a sharp knife.

Sam was also right. Who is Ana? Why did you ask why Leo didn't tell her? Leo obviously didn't tell her, Ana is nobody!

Ana smiled awkwardly. The atmosphere became awkward for Ana, but not with Sam. Sam was still relaxed with his cell phone.

"Besides, if I explain to you at length, you won't understand. So stop asking. When it's time to go home, Leo will go home. He won't die. Why are you so worried about him? Do you like him?" Sam asked Ana at length.

"No! I'm asking because I want to know the answer. Besides, doesn't it feel quiet and lonely without Leo? When Leo is around, it's lively and exciting." Ana expressed her heart.

Sam stopped playing with his phone. He looked directly at Ana with his sharp eyes and flat face.

"So you're saying I'm really boring? Leo's the only fun person in this apartment? Is that what you're saying?" Sam asked Ana.

Ana smiled forcibly, she looked awkward. That's not what Ana meant, Sam misunderstood.

"No--no! That's not what I meant. What I mean is that Leo is an icebreaker, if there is no Leo it feels like something is missing. Because we're used to the commotion Leo makes." Ana explained as best she could to Sam.

"Yes, I know, I'm a boring person. Everyone says so too." Sam sighed.

Ana was confused, she was worried that Sam would take offense to her words.

Ana immediately approached Sam, she sat next to Sam.

"No, it's not! Who said you were a boring person?" Ana asked Sam.

They had just become friends, it wouldn't be funny if they were already enemies just because Ana's words were misunderstood by Sam.

"Everyone I meet." Sam replied briefly.

Ana's intention was to restore Sam's confidence, but Sam's answer was everyone. If it was only 2 or 3 people who called Sam boring, Ana could have said that those people were looking at Sam wrong. But this?!!! but it's everyone! Everyone Sam met who said Sam was boring. Then what should Ana do? All the people's opinions VS Ana. Of course Ana loses!

"Why are you silent? You must be surprised that everyone says I'm boring. Right?" Sam asked Ana.

Ana smiled forcefully, displaying her neat white teeth. "No! I didn't say that. You're actually a very pleasant person. A very funny person. I like being friends with you, you're very funny and can make me laugh because of your antics. You're a lot of fun."

Ana's heart was beating fast, she was actually very worried that Sam had actually raised the red flag on her again.

"Really?" Sam, who had been sitting leaning against the sofa, now straightened his body to face Ana.

"Is what you said true? Are you not lying?" Sam again held on to Ana, he looked at Ana so closely. Until Ana could clearly see Sam's black eyeballs and Sam's thick, neatly knitted eyebrows.

Ana swallowed her saliva. She was nervous. "Re-really." Ana replied nervously.

Sam smiled widely. "Thank you! Thank you for finding me funny and fun. You're the only person who says that to me. Thank you. ...." Sam smiled sincerely at Ana. There was no lie on Sam's face. Sam was really happy listening to Ana's words.

Ana was shocked, she was speechless when she saw Sam's smile and heard Sam's thanks to her.

A Sam? Sam, the cold man who always had a flat face, was now smiling at Ana? Of course Ana was very surprised.

And what surprised Ana the most was...

Yes! Sam's sweet smile! It turns out that when he smiles, Sam is many times more handsome. Sam was indeed very handsome, but when he smiled, his handsomeness increased, plus he was sweet and cute. It turns out that behind Sam's fierce face, there is a cute and sweet face when Sam smiles. What a hidden treasure.

"Let's go eat at a restaurant. I'll treat you since you've praised me as cute and fun." Sam excitedly invited Aan to eat at the restaurant.

"Now?" Ana was a little surprised.

"Of course. I don't like to wait," Sam replied briefly, concisely, clearly. It sounded like an order to Ana.

"All right. Let's go." Ana stood up, then she walked first.

Sam walked after Ana. Sam matched Ana's pace, now walking side by side.

"Let's go to a restaurant near this apartment so we can walk. I'm too lazy to drive a car." Sam pressed the first floor button on their elevator.

"No problem. Walking is even more fun. I love walking at night, seeing the city lights and the beautiful moonlight." Ana agreed with Sam's invitation.

Sam and Ana were already outside the apartment. They walked straight to the restaurant they wanted to visit.

As they were walking, Sam's sandal suddenly broke.

"Damn it! How can expensive sandals be used for a short walk?" Sam grumbled when he saw his broken sandal.

Sam looked around, there was a convenience store nearby. Sam was going to buy some sandals at that store.

"I want to buy some sandals at that convenience store. Do you want to come?" Sam asked Ana.

"No, I don't. I'll just wait here. On that chair." Ana pointed to a chair on the side of the road.

"Are you sure?" Sam asked Ana again.

"Of course I'm sure. I want to see that beautiful moon. I want to look at it longer while the weather is so nice tonight." Ana smiled looking up at the sky.

"Alright. Wait for a while and don't go anywhere. I'm just buying sandals, it won't take long." After saying goodbye, Sam walked straight to the convenience store.

As for Ana, she just sat on a chair on the side of the road to gaze at the beautiful night sky.

Sam went inside the convenience store, looking for sandals that suited him.

"Why are the sandals like this? Are there no sandals like the ones I usually buy?" Sam asked himself.

Sam looked at the price of the sandals. "Why is it so cheap? It takes over 50 sandals in this store to get one sandal that I usually buy." Sam was surprised at the low price of the sandals.

Sam went back to choosing the sandals that suited him. "Is this the one?" Sam asked himself.

"Black or white?" Sam was again confused about choosing a color.

"I like white, but I also like black. I can't decide." Sam was getting more and more confused to choose.

"But since it's nighttime, I'll just buy the black ones." Sam finally made his choice after wrestling with his own mind because he was confused about which sandals to buy.

After deciding to buy black sandals, Sam went straight to the cashier to pay.

Sam pays for his sandals. After paying, Sam put on his sandals right away.

"Not bad, they don't look so ugly." Sam walked out of the convenience store wearing his new sandals.

Sam walked to the bench where Ana was waiting earlier.

Arriving at the bench, Sam was immediately surprised not to find Ana there.

"Ana?!!!" Sam called out to Ana.

"Ana! Let's go! I'm done buying sandals. Let's go!" Sam again shouted for Ana. But there was no answer from Ana.

Sam frowned, her heart racing. Sam was really panicking.

"Ana! Don't joke around! It's not funny, I don't like it!" Sam threatened Ana. But there was still no answer from Ana.

"ANAAAAA!!!" Sam yelled for Ana again, but there was no answer from Ana at all.

Sam was really panicked, he kept shouting for Ana. Looking around, looking for Ana's whereabouts.

Ana suddenly disappeared when Sam finished buying sandals. Sam was very worried, he was afraid something bad would happen to Ana. Who would have thought? Ana is also now close to Sam and Leo. Being close to Sam and Leo is a disaster, as her safety will be threatened by Leo and Sam's enemies. So... is Ana currently experiencing that disaster?
