11. Starting To Get Along
"Who do you think did this, and what is their motive for attacking our clan?" Leo was currently sitting at his desk. His face looked serious, that cheerful gaze now turned into a sharp look.
"Sorry sir, I also don't know where they came from. I'll investigate harder so I can find out which clan they're from." Rocky apologized to Leo.
"How many people died in the attack?" Leo asked Rocky.
"Seven of our warriors died in the attack, sir." Rocky replied with a downcast face.
"Give them a proper burial. Then give their families money and food. If they have babies, please give them supplies and plenty of baby milk. Make sure their families are not deprived." Leo asked Rocky to provide assistance to the family.
Leo was always like this. Leo always thought about the welfare and future of his clan. He would make sure his clan was well and had a prosperous life.
"Yes, sir. I will do as you command." Rocky nodded obediently.
"Then go. Do what I tell you to do. Call me when the funeral is about to take place. I'll come to pay my last respects to them." Leo told Rocky to leave.
"Yes, sir. Then you'll have to excuse me." Rocky bowed his head, then he excused himself to Leo.
After Rocky's departure, Leo immediately let out a rough sigh.
"Why are there such evil people in this world? I don't know them. Why would they attack my clan and sacrifice the lives of my innocent warriors?" Leo asked himself.
Leo did not like enmity, especially when it came to lives.
"What about the families left behind? Those warriors also have a child, a husband, or a father at home. I'm pretty sure their families are completely devastated to hear this terrible news." Leo massaged his dizzy forehead. Leo disliked the news of death the most. Especially the death of those closest to him. The warriors in Leo's clan mostly knew Leo intimately. Leo himself often practiced martial arts with his warriors.
"I will catch whoever the person is. I won't let someone like that live and ruin the peace of the world." Leo was determined. He had to find the mastermind behind this attack.
Unlike Leo who had been up since 3am or rather couldn't sleep well, Sam and Ana were currently still sleeping soundly under the thick blankets on their bodies.
The sunlight had begun to rise upwards, entering through the cracks in the curtains through the window glass and falling on Ana and Sam's faces.
Ana blinked her eyes, her eyes feeling the glare as the sunlight tried to break through into her closed eyes.
Ana squirmed, finding it very difficult to open her eyes.
Feeling disturbed by Ana who continued to squirm, Sam also slowly blinked his eyes which were still tightly closed.
Sam yawned widely, she stretched her body muscles.
Opening her eyes, she looked at the ceiling of the hotel room for 5 seconds. Then Sam looked to the side, seeing Ana sleeping next to her.
"Turns out she's not awake yet. What a slacker. I haven't woken up yet at this hour." Sam babbled under his breath.
"Hey! What did you say? I heard it. I'm already awake. But my eyes are hard to open. Don't you think you're lazy too? You just woke up too!" Ana protested when she heard Sam say that.
Sam was a little surprised that Ana had heard her.
Sam got up from her sleep, she sat on the bed while stretching her muscles again.
Ana also did not want to lose, she also got up from her sleep and sat down while stretching her muscles.
"My eyes are so heavy. They're so hard to open," Ana said softly.
Sam looked at Ana. Then in a split second Sam burst out laughing. "Hahaha... what's wrong with your eyes? Your face looks so funny. Hahahaha ...." Sam continued to laugh at Ana.
Ana panicked when Sam laughed at her. Then she quickly picked up her cell phone on the nightstand. Ana immediately reflected in her cell phone camera.
"WHAT?!!! WHY IS MY FACE LIKE THIS?!!!" Ana was shocked to see her swollen face, more precisely her eyes were enlarged and very swollen.
"Hahaha... so funny. Hahaha ...." Sam actually laughed amusedly. Sam had to hold his sore stomach from laughing.
Ana whined. "What should I do? I can't leave the room like this. I'm embarrassed." Ana's face really looked like someone who was about to cry.
"Maybe this is the effect of you crying all night. So don't cry, look at the effects. You're losing yourself." Sam stopped laughing, she felt a little sorry for Ana.
"You think I want to cry? I don't want to cry either. It's a pure reaction because I'm phobic of lightning. It's a good thing I didn't die from excessive fear and asphyxiation!" Ana was frustrated, she was at a loss on how to deal with her swollen eyes.
"Then there's no need to leave the room. Just stay inside," Sam said.
"Are you crazy? Aren't we going home today?" Ana asked.
"Yes, we're going home today. If you're embarrassed to leave your room, you can come back later until your eyes aren't swollen anymore." Sam gave Ana a suggestion.
"Why are you giving me useless advice?" Ana asked irritably.
"I want to go home too. Do you think I want to stay here alone? I'm scared." Ana did not want to stay alone in the hotel.
"Then don't be shy to leave the room." Sam got up from the bed, he walked towards the bathroom.
"Because you're not the one feeling it!!!" Ana was annoyed at Sam for not helping her.
Sam turned to look at Ana. "Hey! At least be nice to me because I saved you last night--"
THUD!!!
"HAHAHAHA... HAHAHAHAHA ...." Ana laughed out loud as she witnessed firsthand the second Sam crashed into the wall.
"THAT'S WHY WHEN YOU WALK, USE YOUR EYES. WHEN YOU WALK, LOOK AHEAD, NOT BEHIND. YOU'LL DROP IT. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ...." Ana was completely satisfied laughing and mocking Sam.
Sam was still sitting on the floor. Her forehead actually hit the wall hard.
Sam held her forehead which was in great pain, even her head became dizzy.
Ana, who was satisfied laughing, immediately came over to Sam. Ana suspected that Sam was crying because he had been sitting on the floor.
Ana bent down to check on Sam who was still sitting on the floor "Are you crying?" Ana asked.
Sam, who had been holding his forehead, could only look at Ana without answering Ana's question.
"Did you lose your memory because of the hard impact? No way. It's just like in a drama." Ana was confused as to why Sam was silent.
"Really, my head is very dizzy. I was hit very hard." Sam held her forehead.
Ana shifted Sam's hand on her forehead, wanting to examine Sam's forehead.
"Crazy. Your forehead got a lump, Sam. It's so red, it must hurt, right?" Ana looked worried for Sam.
"I told you my head was spinning because of that." Sam replied curtly.
"Let's sit down first. I'll compress your forehead." Ana helped Sam to stand up. Then Ana led Sam to sit on the bed.
After that, Ana immediately took a small towel and wet it with water. Then Ana brought the wet towel to Sam.
"Hold the pain." Ana urged Sam.
Ana began to compress Sam's forehead which had a big bump from hitting the wall earlier.
"Ouch! Can you slow down? It hurts!" Sam winced in pain.
"Just endure the pain, I did it slowly anyway." Ana again compressed Sam's forehead.
"Ouch! It hurts, it hurts. I can't." Sam held Ana's hand that was compressing her forehead. Sam moved Ana's hand away from her forehead.
"Let go of my hand. I want to compress your forehead so it won't swell." Ana asked Sam to let go of her hand.
"No, I won't. It hurts. You're pressing so hard." Sam refused to let go of Ana's hand.
"Then compress it yourself." Ana told Sam to compress her own forehead.
Ana gave the wet towel to Sam. Sam immediately accepted the wet towel.
Sam began to gently compress his forehead with the wet towel Ana had given him.
"Wait here for a moment," Sam said.
Sam took a small towel and went into the bathroom.
About a minute later, Sam came out of the bathroom and approached Ana who was sitting on the bed.
"Here." Sam handed Ana a fresh wet towel.
Ana wrinkled her forehead. "What for?" she asked confused.
"Your eyes are swollen too. Who knows, the swelling will go away with a cold compress." Sam told Ana to compress her own eyes.
Ana was a little surprised, then she burst out laughing.
Sam wrinkled his forehead in confusion. What was wrong with what Sam was doing?
"Why are you laughing? Is something funny?" Sam asked.
"Hahaha of course it's funny. Don't you find this funny?" Ana asked Sam.
Sam's forehead wrinkled, she was getting confused. "What do you mean?" asked Sam again.
"Hahaha... it's really very funny. How cute are we. Sitting facing each other and giving each other wet towels to compress each other's swelling. Isn't it funny? hahahaha ...." Ana laughed loudly.
Sam was confused at first, but after digesting Ana's words well, Sam burst out laughing. Sam also found this funny. Sitting across from each other, they both compressed the swelling with a wet towel.
"Hahaha... you're so funny laughing with your eyes so swollen. You look like an alien. Hahaha ...." Sam laughed out loud, feeling funny looking at Ana.
Ana laughed too. "You're the same. You look funny with that big bump on your head. Hahahaa ...."
"So don't make fun of me. You ended up getting karma, right? Your karma was paid instantly by God. After mocking me for my swollen eyes, you immediately hit the wall and your forehead is also very swollen like it was taped with a tennis ball. Hahahahaa ...." Ana was completely satisfied laughing because of Sam.
Hearing Ana's words just now, instead of getting angry, Sam laughed even more. Sam felt that what Ana said was true too.
Sam and Ana were completely satisfied laughing at each other, and laughing at their fate too of course.
Ana and Sam sat across from each other, both compressing the swelling in their eyes and on their foreheads. Ana and Sam also told each other stories and laughed at things they found funny.
It seemed like Sam and Ana's relationship was getting better. They no longer looked awkward with each other. They also seem to be getting closer. It looks like Leo's mission to make Sam and Ana friends has succeeded. Unfortunately, Leo wasn't here and couldn't see the funny interactions between Sam and Ana, seeing that Sam and Ana were getting along.
