McKenzie vs. Aland

**\[ALICE’s Point of View\]**

I couldn’t believe my eyes the second he appeared before me.

I thought I was seeing a ghost at first. An imagination that my heart had been longing for since the last time I saw him. I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me because of my desperation to get out of the cursed forest.

He stared at me as if he couldn’t believe I was in front of him as well. Of all the people who would look for me, I never thought Bellamy would risk his life to get into a dangerous place like this. Perhaps Alpha Zenon asked him to find me? I didn’t know. What I knew was we had to get away before Maverick caught up with us.

It took me three hours to plan my escape route out of Maverick's mansion. I was a little lucky that he was out to hunt something for dinner when I used the backdoor of the dirty kitchen and made sure everyone was too busy to pay attention to what I was doing. I managed to get out, though, after pretending I was washing their clothes and hurried my way through the forest, hoping to find the main road and ask for any travelers to help me get to any nearby city.

It was never easy to sneak from Maverick’s men, especially that mohawk-haired guy. But because their master wasn’t around the place, they took advantage of it to relax and do whatever they wanted.

And babysitting me was the last thing on their list.

“Alice!” Bellamy breathed as he froze. I didn’t know how to react either or what to say to him but the adrenaline in me pushed me to grab his arm and pull him under the thick bushes around us. Hoping they were thick enough to hide us from the enemies.

“I guess the fog could help hide our scent,” I whispered to him. My heart was hammering so loudly in my chest. I panted and then looked at him in the eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“It should be me who should be asking you that question.” he frowned at me, and his face was so close to me that I could smell his fresh, minty breath. “What happened to you? You suddenly disappeared—”

“Maverick got me in the forest near that beach,” I answered with a low voice. As low as I could while my senses were still in full alert. “You want me out of your life, right?”

“What?!” his frown deepened. “I never said something like that, Alice! I said I have to stop myself from wanting you because you have no future with me.”

“You don’t know that,” I snapped at him. “You don’t know anything about my future and you don’t know anything about what I really want, Bellamy! You just don’t care!”

His mouth opened as if he was about to say something really important to him but we heard heavy footsteps coming towards us, followed by screaming of men. I recognized Maverick’s voice as he yelled orders to his people not to hurt me if they ever found me.

“We have to move!” I hissed at him.

His jaw stiffened as he pursed his lips and held my hand as securely. We ran as fast as we could and didn’t care anymore if the fog was too thick for us to see where we were heading. If Maverick’s men caught us, I was one hundred percent sure Maverick would kill Bellamy with his own hands, and I would never want that to happen. I hated the guy but he was still my mate. No matter how many times he had hurt me already, my heart and my wolf still wanted him, which was why I hated him more.

Bellamy couldn’t transform into his wolf because he would be easily detected. So we both relied on our instincts and kept on running until we noticed that the fog was finally getting thin. I smelled the fresh ocean breeze, which told us that we were finally on the edge of the forest. I thanked the Moon Goddess silently for guiding us out, and Bellamy made sure I could keep up with his pace as we saw the calm waves of the shore and the fine white sand in front of us.

I asked between my heavy breaths, “Do you think we are finally safe?”

There was a groan and a loud thud, and I saw Maverick throwing a powerful punch on Bellamy’s stomach. Bellamy, who was surprised by the sudden attack, fell to his knees with his hand on his belly while glaring at Maverick and baring his teeth.

I yelped when strong arms caught me, and the mohawk-haired guy was already behind me with a darkened face, “You caused me a lot of trouble, little Missy! You will pay for what you did once we go back to the mansion!”

“Who said I am going back to that g*dd*mned place?” I snarled at him, “Let me go, Maverick! I don’t want to join your disgusting harem! You can’t make me one of your breeders!”

Maverick kicked Bellamy to the side of my mate’s torso before he approached me with heavy steps. His face was dark and his blue eyes were icy cold as he lifted my face with his fingers. “This is not a choice, Alice Drakon. I want you to be mine and your powers will be passed down to my bloodline. Our children will be powerful hybrids that will conquer these lands one day.”

“You visit too many soothsayers, Maverick Aland.” Bellamy groaned as he stood. “Who told you you can just kidnap a lady and force her to have your child?” he glared at the redhead Alpha as he curled his hands into fists. His eyes were burning with anger, preparing himself for a huge fight against the five men in front of him. “You have to kill me first before you lay your hands on my mate!”

I gasped, and a surge of emotions suddenly flooded my chest when Bellamy, for the very first time, finally acknowledged that the Moon Goddess, indeed, chose us to be destined together.

“Good. Because you have no idea how much I had been wanting to end your little pathetic life, Bellamy Mckenzie.” Maverick grinned evilly.
