Chapter 52 Chapter 52) A fever.
The moonlight pack,
Evening came, but Priscilla remained inside the room and had refused to come out.
She locked herself in, causing no one to be able to come in.
“What are we going to do?”. Felicia, who stood outside the bedroom, said and was extremely worried, not minding that she was someone who was scared of Priscilla and Demira.
She was scared of both of them and would appreciate it if she was given a chance to work for someone else.
But in her case, that was impossible. Unless the Lycan King himself dismissed her.
“You should quit standing there and do something about this. She has not eaten. Do you want her to starve herself to death? Is that what you want?”. She said to the warriors, but in this case, they were also helpless.
The only option was to break down the door and enter the room, or to go outside the building and infiltrate her room using the window.
But they knew that it would be disrespectful for them to do such a thing without her permission, as she was now their Luna. There was no denying of that.
As long as their Lycan King had approved of her as his Luna, who were they to object to him?
They could only object to his decision if they did not need their heads anymore.
Felicia sighed in defeat because she was not a fool and understood why the warriors were hesitating.
She understood that they could not barge into the Luna's bedroom without her permission or the permission of Lycan King Alejandro.
Feeling weak and defeated, she glanced behind her and her heart felt heavier as she saw the maidservants who had been standing still for hours, with trays of food in their hands.
Beads of sweat were sliding down their temples, and their hands were shaking.
If this continued to go on, she was afraid that it would inevitably cause a mess.
“For how long more?”. She muttered, with her voice fading as she spoke.
After that, she did not know what to say again. Rather, she fixed her gaze on the door as she was lost thinking.
What if Priscilla repeated the same thing tomorrow? Did she plan on hurting herself and Demira?
Speaking of Demira, it made her wonder if Priscilla’s actions right now had something to do with what had happened to Demira.
“What is going on here?”. Someone asked her, but hearing the person’s question caused a frown to appear on her face.
“Can't you se-”. She did not dare to finish her words because she felt her body grow cold.
Her legs felt weak, and hearing the warriors greet the Lycan King, she did not bother to turn around.
All she did was fall to her knees in that second, with her forehead touching the floor.
“Please forgive me, Lycan King Alejandro!”. She pleaded with him and shivered on the floor.
Her eyes were wide open in shock, and she felt her bones grow cold and numb.
“Be glad. You aren't worth my time today”. He said, then added, “Move”.
Felicia tried to stand up and move out of the way, since she was the one who was in front of the door, but she didn't understand why she was not able to stand on her feet no matter how much she tried.
Her legs had bailed out on her and had refused to function again.
‘No!’. She panicked in her mind, and without thinking much, she desperately crawled on her fours and moved out of the way, not minding how demeanor that looked, or how others now viewed her.
As long as her quick thinking was able to save her life, she did not mind going through such a disturbing length.
Alejandro ignored her and stood in front of the door.
A little push without an effort, and the door lock broke, causing the door to open.
Everyone was stunned, with their mouths left open as they were speechless.
Alejandro's action had just made their fear of him double.
“Bring the food in”. He ordered the maidservants as he walked into the room.
The maidservants stared at themselves. Not a single one of them was able to move because of how terrified they were.
They had to stare at Felicia who remained sitting on the floor and was panting fast.
“What are you waiting for?! Go inside, now!”. She ordered them without voicing out her words.
Despite that, the maidservants understood what she had said and hurried inside the bedroom. After they placed the tray of food on the floor, they stood aside.
But after a single dismissal wave from Alejandro, they hurried out of the bedroom and let out a sigh of relief, while their hearts pounded like something which was about to explode.
Back in the room,
Alejandro went and sat on the bed, where Priscilla was lying down.
She seemed to be asleep, but her complexion looked bad.
Her face was pale, but her cheeks were red, like makeup had been applied there.
Seeing that, he furrowed his brows.
And not caring if she was going to wake up due to his action, he placed his palm on her forehead, and just like he had guessed, her temperature was hot.
She was having a fever, causing his frown to deepen.
“How dare you not eat when you are like this?”.
“I can't have you die under my watch when I have not finished making you pay”.
As soon as he finished saying that to her, he grabbed her hand and drew her up, making her forcefully wake up as her body collided with his, with her face resting on his broad chest.
