Chapter 37 Chapter 37) Hope to meet again.
As the Lycan King, was he not the one meant to stabilize things between the other packs? At this rate, because he kept on doing nothing about what was happening in other packs, it had caused them, the Alphas, and the werewolves, to be pleased to do whatever they wanted to do without a care in the world.
“Well? Say something”. Alpha Walter demanded of the Alphas, but they didn't have the time for that. Not when different thoughts were going on inside their heads.
They were thinking because none of them trusted each other. Since Lycan King Alejandro had dedicated himself to doing nothing if anything went wrong with their packs, they were afraid of each other, and felt that an alpha, or perhaps, someone close to them was aiming for their power without fear, as they were aware that Alejandro was going to do nothing about it.
They had only come here to the moonlight pack for the wedding because they did not want to be on Alejandro's bad side.
But now that the wedding ceremony was over, and due to the fact that not a single one of them was able to win Alejandro’s favor, they had no reason to remain in the wedding venue, or in the moonlight pack, because that was only going to bring trouble for them if Alejandro found out that they wanted to become strong enough to bring him down.
They figured that since he did not care about the well-being of their packs, they might as well, bring him down and achieve the power to do what he could not bring himself to do.
Other than the reason which they had laid down for them, they just wanted Alejandro gone and wanted his authority for themselves.
But again, they were a little bit reluctant to leave the moonlight pack out of fear.
Alejandro had just gotten married, and soon, his wife would become pregnant with more of his kind (his heirs).
That was something they did not want to happen. But at their state, or at the level of their power, what could they possibly do to prevent that from happening?
They could only return to their packs and think straight of what their next step would be.
So until they succeeded in their plan, they didn't have the time to waste taking Alpha Walter’s side.
At once, they rose from their seats and left the wedding venue.
Three of them planned on returning to their packs as early as tomorrow morning. While the last one planned on returning to his pack tonight.
He was a single father and had left his daughter alone in his mansion, as he could not afford to bring her along with him to a place as dangerous as the moonlight pack.
A frown appeared on Alpha Walter's face as he watched them leave. ‘Those bastards’. He thought and felt humiliated.
The least they could do was to take his side, but they didn't and humiliated him in the presence of everyone.
“What's even your problem, Alpha Walter or whatever you call yourself? Why did you have to come and confront my husband?”.
“Why don't you mind your own business?”. Elora asked him, with her arms wrapped on her abdomen.
She didn't understand what his problem was, and was sour that he came to cause trouble for Kayson at the wrong moment.
“Wait. Are you not Alpha Sam's daughter? How could you bear to get married to the man who was responsible for your father's death? Were you bewitched by him?!”. He demanded an answer from her, but that only pissed her off.
“How is that your freaking business, old man?!”. She tried to step forward, but was held back by Kayson, who had an idea of what she wanted to do to him (Walter).
When she halted and stared at Kayson, as if asking him why he had stopped her, he shook his head at her, before returning his gaze to Alpha Walter. He said to him with a straight look on his face, “Weren't you here when I presented my gift to the Lycan King? He acknowledged me as the Alpha of the Joaken pack and didn't say anything to me like stepping down. So, what gives you the right to say that to me?”.
“Or… are you sure you don't want the pack for yourself?’. He added with a smirk, causing Alpha Walter’s eyes to widen.
He immediately denied the truth after he noticed that everyone began whispering, “That is not true! How dare you try to frame me?!”.
He cleared his throat after saying that.
‘Staying here won't do me any good. I must leave'. He thought, because there was not a single person who was not staring at him after Kayson's accusations.
And it was looking very bad for him.
“I hope to meet you again”. He said to Kayson, but it looked more like a threat, instead of anticipation.
‘Yes. I hope to meet you again’. Kayson thought with a dark intention, as something sick had formed inside his heart. ‘How dare you call me a nobody? Just you wait’.
‘I will show you what this so-called nobody is capable of doing to you’.
