Chapter 21 Chapter 21) Had enough/ Not a human.

Chapter 21 Chapter 21) Had enough/ Not a human.
Feeling dejected, weak, and having seen that she had been treated unjustly by her own flesh and blood, she rose from the floor and left the Presidential suite.

‘I guess if I die, it will all be over. I wonder if he will care about me after I lose my life’.

Tears were threatening to escape from her eyes when she thought to herself on the way, but she tried her best to stay cool, as she couldn't afford people seeing the other side of her.

To them, she was the genius young lady. The unbreakable young lady.

The young lady who had everything she desired in her life.

But, if they saw her crying now, would not her tears make them change their minds and the way they see her?

Now that was something she could not bear to endure, as someone who had been working hard half her life in order to please him so that he would finally notice her and give her the love she had always wanted and desired.

When she arrived at the first floor of the building, she went to the parking lot where she located her parked red car.

Upon entering the car and sitting in the driver's seat, she drove off afterward and was heading to the Mansion to grab an important item. It took a few minutes on the road, and she arrived at the Mansion.

Just a beep, and the large black gates were opened by the men dressed in black and white, and had communication devices attached to their ears. They were the security agents of the mansion.

She drove in, and it took two minutes before she arrived at the mansion and parked her car by the water fountain.

After turning off her car's engine, she got out of the car.

But after she got out of it, she didn't immediately enter the massive white mansion in front of her.

Rather, she stood there in silence and watched for a while, before she took a deep breath and made the first brave step forward.

If she remembered correctly, it had been a year since she had last visited the mansion. That was because she really could not stand the sight of her hypocritical stepmother, who hated her.

She had never for once done anything wrong to her stepmother, but she (her stepmother) had always hated her, to the point that after making enough money, she made a tough decision and went ahead to buy her own house, where she could stay away from problems and worries, and breath freely without anyone glaring at her like she was the devil's reincarnation.

By the way, the moment of truth arrived.

She arrived in the living room, but before she could reminisce about the good old days when it was only her, her mother, and her father who lived in the mansion as a one happy family (or fake happy family), she was interrupted by an irritated voice who called her name.

When she lifted her gaze forward, she saw the person who had been the nightmare of her life.

“What are you doing here, Kate? I thought you had promised never to return to this mansion again?”. Mirinda said and had a glaring look in both her eyes as she stared at Kate.

Her words made Kate frown. ‘When did I ever say something like that?’.

That was the question she wanted to ask Miranda, but decided that it wasn't worth mentioning, as she didn't in any way want to talk with her.

She only came to the mansion to retrieve something important to her, and that was it. After she was done, she had planned on leaving the mansion without turning back.

So, why?

Ignoring Miranda, she walked past her and headed to her bedroom.

But Miranda’s eyes widened in shock because she could not believe what had happened right in her eyes. “Di- did she walk out on me right now?”. She muttered and could not believe it.

Gritting her teeth, she went after Kate.

And even after she saw Kate arrive inside her room, she did not stop there and went into the room with her.

Her right hand reached out, and she grabbed Kate's shoulder and made her turn around. And the instant after she turned around, she slapped her cheek.

“How dare you walk out on me, Kate? Who gave you the audacity to do that to me?!”. She yelled at her, and her eyes had turned bloodshot.

She had always hated Kate because she was deeply afraid that, as the first child of President Gabriel, the properties might be given to her.

And even though she was aware that her husband loved her sons more than he could ever love Kate, she was insecure.

As for Kate, she was completely taken aback by what Miranda did to her.

She held her cheek and stared at her in disbelief as she wondered what she had done wrong to deserve the slap.

She tried to let it go like always, but today was a different case. She felt deeply hurt.

Tears had gathered in her eyes.

“What have I done wrong to you, Miranda?! Huh?!”.

“I said, what wrong have I freaking done to you that made you hate me so much?!”.

“I did not even do anything wrong to you, and you freaking slapped me!”.

She roared fiercely and began walking towards Miranda, who began to retreat.

Miranda was shocked because this was the first time ever that Kate had yelled at her. It was something she never believed could happen because she knew that Kate was the timid kind of lady who could be easily bullied and manipulated by others.

She furrowed her brows and tried to take her stance. “Wh- what do you think you are doing right now, Kate? How dare you raise your voice at me? Are you crazy?!”.

“You had better leave my room if you know what is best for you, Miranda! Yes, I am crazy! So, don't let me do what I would end up regretting!”. Kate declared, before she went ahead and grabbed the lamp stand on her table and planned on using it to attack her.

“You really are crazy!”. Miranda panicked, and her life flashed before her eyes.

The next second, she hurried out of the room and didn't dare to look back.

Upon seeing that she had left, Kate went ahead and locked the door to her room.

After she did that, she sighed deeply, before she rested her back against the door and slid down to the ground.

The tears that had been threatening to escape from her eyes finally streamed down her cheeks.

“I miss you mom. I miss you so much”. She muttered and thought about how her life had been. Her heart felt heavy like it had turned to stone, and she felt like the most insignificant being in the universe.

She even began asking herself what her purpose in life was.

The man she has been trying to please only sees her as his tool and not his flesh or blood.

The stepmother whom she had done nothing wrong to was always after her neck.

And Leo and Lucas, her half brothers… they usually insulted her and caused trouble for her however they saw fit.

“I really am the biggest fool alive, mom”. She added after realizing just how foolish she had been.

She has even begun to regret why she mentioned that crazy idea to her father.

She had only told him about the plan, not because she wanted to help out, but because she wanted to see if he would try to stop her.

She wanted to see if truly, there was nothing he felt for her as his daughter.

And it turned out that her worst fear came to pass.

Only that she didn't care anymore. More like, she chose not to care anymore.

“I- I-”. She sniffed her nose. “I am done. I hate myself and I can't continue to be like this. I can't continue to seek his attention like a mindless fool. I wasn't like this when Mom was here”.

“And, I bet wherever she is, she will not be happy to see me like this”.

“I- I quit being the tool from now onward. I quit being an easy target for bullying”.

She added and wiped the tears on her cheeks using the back of her hand, before her face turned blank and cold, as if her emotions had died and vanished forever.

Finally, she had returned to her senses and had vowed to make each one of them pay. Even those who had looked up to her, all because she was a useful tool they could use and rely on.

She remained sitting on the ground for a while, before she rose up and went to her locked closet. She took out the closet key from her grey trousers’ pocket, before she opened the door and entered.

Without delay, she went to one of her wardrobes and opened it, taking out a certain blue necklace her mom had given her before she tragically died.

Anyway, since she had retrieved what she came to the mansion for, she did not see the need to delay, so she left the mansion.

She was glad that Leo and Lucas were in college at the moment. After all, she did not want anyone else ruining her mood.

But that slap on her cheek… she swore to repay it a hundred folds.

Of course, she would go to the moonlight pack like she had said. But, to hell with retrieving the Lycan King's blood.

She was there for a new mission.

And that was, filling the ears of the moonlight pack with how hateful the humans are. Especially how hateful President Gabriel and his family are.

Luckily, she has proof to back that up.

And, one might wonder: What if she ran out of the Omega mask potion? Wouldn't the werewolves find out that she wasn't one of them but was a human all along?

Ha. There was no need for that because she was never a human to begin with.

And the stuff about creating an Omega mask potion? That was a bloody lie.

It never really existed.

And, never has she hurt a single werewolf or used any of them for an experiment.

Let us just say, she had never for once experimented on how to make Alejandro or the werewolves go extinct.

Why would she do that when her precious mother was one of them?
