Chapter 9
Amelia's POV.
We walked back to the Alpha's room to meet with Luna Bella and Damien who had also arrived at the place. Luna Bella instructed some maids to go get the portions that I had prepared after we announced that they were ready for the Alpha's consumption.
“If I may ask my lady, where did you get such a skillful young healer from. Her talents are unique. I must commend,” Lady Magdalene commented.
“Oh, yes, she is, my dear; that was why we went all the way to Silvermoon to invite her over here. She is the popular healer of the Silvermoon pack,” Luna Bella explained to Magdalene.
“Now I know why she is this popular l, she lives to her legacy. She is one of the most skillful healers I have come across so far. Her diligence in her duty is one thing that captivated me more about her; she is so focused on her work; I bet that was why she is skillful the way she is”. Magdalene went on with the praises she was showering on me.
I was mesmerized by the praises she was raining on me; she literary made me the topic of the day, elevating my status more in the very before of every single person in the room.
I know that my status has already been elevated in every single werewolf pack, but I was more pleased having to see and hear her shower more praises on me in the very presence of people who never believed I could turn out to be this great, the same people that tossed me away like I was nothing, same people that saw nothing good in me and wanted me dead.
Though they didn't know that I was the one, I still felt pleased it was happening. I smiled and inwardly felt satisfied, especially when I noticed that Freya was being affected by the praises that was being rained on, I could see from her facial expressions how pained she was that I was receiving all the praises and none was directed to her.
She looked so pissed, more pain than ever,, and couldn't take the entire thing anymore. I could see how her eyes were being lighted up in jealousy by every given thing Magdalen had said. I smirked inwardly at the sight of her battling with her jellllLady Magdalene’s seemed to have added more salt to her injury and, at the same time, fueled her entire emotions, making her suddenly start going against everything Lady Magdalen was saying.
“I don't think that could be true,” Freya spat, admitting Lady Magdalene's comments.
“What do you mean by that?” Luna Bella questioned Freya as she stared at her in confusion.
“What I meant was that there is no way she could have done all this alone” Freya stated, the jealousy in her tone, clearly screaming out of her lungs.
“But I was in there with her; I watched her prepare all the potions and pills alone. I didn't offer a single help as she seemed for none when she made those medicines,” Magdalen explained, but Freya remained rooted in her agitation.
“Perhaps she has bought you over or probably confused or even fooled you because I'm certain that there was never a way she could prepare such powerful medicines, and not just that, she made them in larger quantities alone. No way could happen!” Freya snapped, literally blazing in jealousy, and it seemed like she had been so consumed in it that she didn't even realize that she was crossing her limits.
“Don't say that young girl, I know what I'm saying”. Lady Magdalene argued.
“No, you don't; perhaps you are probably trying to find favor in her sight. Tou merely too much about her and that…” she said, sending a gaze filled with so much hatred and disdain.
But then Damien, who had been observing what was going on and possibly ashamed of the scene his dear was creating,g, lowered his head in shame and quickly nudged her back to her senses, signaling her to keep quiet. Freya finally realized that she had made a fool of herself as she noticed how everyone around was staring at her in awe.
“Umm… I–I mean, don't mind my words; I was only trying to tease you, ma'am. Who wouldn't want to be on the good side with such a beautiful, talented healer? I would do the same, and I wish I could also learn from her if she can only permit me to”. She said, suddenly changing her statement.
“Thank you for everything” she added awkwardly and managed a smile when she noticed that no one responded to her words.
“Yeah, thank you for your wonderful skills” Damien quickly added, taking a step closer to me, but still maintaining a good distance before continuing with his words
“I could see the phenomenal improvement in my father's health; I'm in awe of how effective your skills are; I can say that healer's ability is one of its kind, and we are lucky to have you here in our midst; thank you for accepting the invitation” Damien commented.
His eyes were fixed on mine as he kept giving this endless stare, more like that of a flower boy trying to woo his crush. I had noticed how he was always staring at me in this attractive manner each time he appeared in front of me. He seemed to want to act like the nicest person also, and I always ignored him.
I once felt like he was just trying to be nice because of the fact that I was there to heal the Alpha, though something in me tells me otherwise, I ignored him, waving it all, but the consistency of that particular act justified my instincts. And today, having to see that same look in his got me disgusted.
I wondered if he thought I was the senseless type of woman who could fall for his cheap tricks. I rolled my eyes inwardly and looked away in disgust.
Just then, Kaiden walked into the room. I felt relieved and excited when I saw him, but I kept my cool. His presence always lightened up my mood, making me know that I was not alone in this journey.
I know I had argued his coming over to Bloodmoon with me and acted like I could come here and survive alone, but it is now clear to me that I wouldn't have done better without him. I was glad that he proposed to follow me here, and he actually did follow me. Seeing always beside me has given me strength and always lightened my mood; I can't deny the fact that I would have missed him so much if he wasn't here with me.
“Thank you for the compliments,” I said to them before turning to Magdalene.
“Lady Magdalene, it's nice working with you. Thank you for commenting; I will be looking forward to having you around again some other time,,” I said calmly with a smile.
“Here are the portions, Luna Bella; make sure the Alpha takes it every day,” I turned and said to Bella, handing over the portions I had made, which the maids brought in some minutes ago.
“Thank you, she said and took the small jars containing the portions from me and placing on a table close to the Alpha's bed.
I quickly walked over to Kaiden, whom I had been anticipating to see, and held his sleeve, staring into his eyes most adorably.
“Are done with everything for today?” He asked with a smile.
“Yes, I can finally stay with you” I replied and smiled.
“Very well then, shall we take our leave?” he said, and I nodded as my smile widened before we left the room.
