CHAPTER 56

Annie was shocked for seconds. She even looked sideways to be sure Bethel had just spoken to her in that manner.

It was the audacity for her.

Annie couldn't hold it anymore. She pounce forward like a predator would go after it's prey. She grabbed hold of Bethel's hair from behind and that made Bethel turn in a swift.

"Did you just speak to me in that manner? How dare you! You're just a slave! A mere slave to my fiance and I" Annie shrieked and Bethel forced her hair out of Annie grip, she wasn't surprised Annie knew about her being a slave or maybe Harry told her.

"A slave to your fiance, not a slave to you, Mistress" Bethel replied and still walk out on her.

Annie sheathed in pure undiluted anger. Her hand itched to hit Bethel but she can't. She have to be in her best behavior in other to win Harry over.

Maybe reporting Bethel would do. She thought and strode to his room. She knocked and heard his soft voice minutes later.

She entered and didn't say a word, she only continued staring, hoping he would look up at her and say something but he sat there calmly, busy with his laptop.

He regarded her from beneath his lashes and didn't even raise his head.

It was hard to stop staring at him.

He was putting on a simple T-shirt that revealed his powerful muscles that bunched and flexed as he typed fast.

The blue shorts he wore didn't do a good job in hiding his long legs either, he has a great body and she almost drooled staring at him.

Of course this isn't the first time she'll be staring but he looks more appealing to her right now.

Geez!

She can't believe she finds him more appealing when he's calm.

There's this sexiness to his calm state.

The way he arched his brow almost made her imagine naughty things.

Her gaze left his body and moved to his face.

His long curly hair was parted at his forehead, his narrow straight nose was perfect and his thin lips... Ohh.. God.

Why are you doing this to me Harry?

She kept staring at him, imagining naughty things.

She almost forgot the latest incidence as her mind went back to when she almost kissed him at the last royal ball party.

Geez!

She's so ashamed of herself to be thinking of that now.

"Your eyes might pop out of the socket from staring" Harry finally said and looked at her with his soft golden eyes.

Annie blushed. Finally he spoke to her. Annie practically forgot what brought her to his room.

"Can I stay here for a while?" She asked.

"Our engagement is around the corner, don't you think we should spend some time together?" She added and Harry sighed.

"You can stay" Harry replied finally.

He knew Annie was up to something.

"Wow!" Annie exclaimed from the other end of the room. Harry was forced to swivel his head to the sides.

Those where the dresses and shoes he bought for Bethel. Annie was busy checking them out, thinking he had gotten them for her.

"This is beautiful" Annie exclaimed again. It only made Harry more angry. He had kept those things in his wardrobe, Annie must have went to his wardrobe for her to see the dresses and he hates it when people toy with his personal things.

"Annie!" He called. His voice wasn't calm and harsh neither.

Annie paused from trying on the vermilion colored dress she held.

"It's beautiful, you got them for me right?" She chuckled and went ahead to try the dress on. It wasn't her size.

"This is not my size, my hip size is 36 not 45.... you got the wrong hip size" Annie said.

"But I love the dress" she added.

Harry's face wasn't smiling at all. He doesn't want to blow hot. He is only keep calm about the engagement stuff because Annie is the central minister daughter.

Annie picked the next dress which was a blue dinner gown, a ring box fell from the dress. Annie's eye glittered immediately.

A ring box!

"He wants to ask me out" was what came to her memory.

"Oh my god! Harry you're so sweet!" She uttered in happiness and opened the ring box. It was pure diamond.

"I hate it when people go through my personal stuffs, Annie. I will only let this slide because you don't know about my rules" Harry finally spoke. His tone was cold, as cold as an ice.

"I'm not other people, I'm... I'm your bethroted" she said.

Harry carefully collected the ring box from her. "Annie, somethings aren't meant for sisters".

"Huh" Annie uttered, still in shock.

"You heard me right? In my eyes, you're just like Emma" he stated, clearly.

Annie dropped the dress immediately. A tear dropped from her eyes.

"Harry, I love you so much. I really love you. I want you" she broke into tears.

"If you really love me then forget about me" Harry didn't look at her, he tuck the ring box in his pocket.

•••••••••••••••

"My husband is arriving tomorrow" Mrs Crown rushed into Bethel's workshop, almost breathless.

Bethel turned to her. Harry came to her workshop at the same time.

"Is my dress ready?" She asked Bethel anxiously.

She had expected Bethel to say no, because tomorrow was actually the deadline she gave her.

So she had come to hasten her up cause her husband is coming tomorrow.

"Yes ma'am, it's ready" Bethel smiled.

"Wow" Mrs Crown was impressed.

Bethel held out the beautiful dress in front of Mrs Crown and not only her was stunned, Harry and Slyvia was too.

No one could explain how Mrs Crown ended up hugging Bethel.

"Thank you so much" Mrs Crown squealed like a kid.

"Ohh.. my" Bethel said, still shocked by the hug.

"This is so beautiful" Mrs Crown admired the dress and studied it with keen interest.

She never thought Bethel would have completed it and not only that, she made it look so neat and beautiful.

She was so impressed and Bethel was glad she had impressed her.

"My nanny is still the best fashion designer I've ever come across" Angel grinned holding her chubby cheek.

"She just proved that to me too" Mrs Crown smiled.

"You are so good at what you do Bethel, I'm greatly impressed and you even finished it before the deadline, that's a good quality of a business woman."

"Thank you ma'am" Bethel bowed.

Her face was full of smiles.

"I need to go order a matching pair of shoes. I won't be surprised if Walker arrives tonight" Mrs Crown sighed softly and walked out of the workshop after Bethel helped her pack the dress.

"Woah!" Bethel sighed in relief, dropping on the chair.

Harry laughed.

"I'm so glad she likes it and she hugged me?" Bethel was still stunned.

As far as she could remember, Mrs Crown never liked her.

Maybe she was just so impressed with the dress.

"She's starting to like you Bethel" Harry said thoughtfully.

He knew his Mum, she hadn't hugged Bethel because of the dress alone.
