Chapter248
“You think about it yourself, how could you do that to Steph!”
“I told you so many times to break up with that woman, but you just wouldn’t listen. You said you had your reasons. Now tell me, what reasons did you have? Do you think your reasons could make Steph forgive you?”
Every time he said something, the cane hit Maxwell hard.
He didn’t say anything, and his eyes were full of sadness.
He didn’t know.
I didn’t know what I was thinking, and I didn’t know what I should do.
He couldn’t answer Roxanne’s question, and he couldn’t figure out Stephanie’s attitude.
He couldn’t answer Grandpa’s question either.
“Speak!” Leonard snapped.
But he didn’t know what to say.
“Buzz buzz buzz…”
At the same time, his phone also started vibrating.
Maxwell took out his phone and saw it was Edgar calling.
Edgar wouldn’t have called him at this time if it wasn’t something important.

So, under Leonard’s anger, he bit the bullet and picked up.

“Mr. Humphrey, something bad happened, news just broke online, at the charity auction dinner, that… that Tanzanite’s owner… was Mrs. Humphrey.”
That Tanzanite….
“The specific situation has been summarized online, you can take a look. I sent you the link.” Edgar continued.
On one side, Leonard looked really unhappy and hit Maxwell a few more times.
But Maxwell seemed like he couldn’t feel any pain, just hung up the phone and then clicked on the link Edgar sent him.
Ten minutes ago.
The talk that Roxanne went to the charity dinner for sick kids, but Stephanie just went to argue spread everywhere.
Roxanne’s Kenneth team started fires everywhere.
They kept hyping up the value of that Tanzanite.
“That Tanzanite itself was valued at a million. Normally, something like that wouldn’t go over 1.2 million. When Roxanne made her move, if the price had stopped there, you’d see Roxanne

she said. It was Stephanie who insisted on outbidding Roxanne halfway through, and that’s what led to what happened next.”
“Yeah, if Stephanie liked that Tanzanite, she could’ve bid for it from
the start. She clearly only made an offer because she saw Roxanne wanted to bid.”

“Roxanne used to do it to raise more awareness for sick kids, so the whole society could pay more attention to them, but Stephanie? She was just arguing for the sake of it.”
Stephanie hadn’t said anything, and Roxanne was really happy about that.
Earlier, it was said that she wouldn’t spend a penny, but now she’s confusing people and twisting the facts into-“She actually wanted to bid, and she really did take action, but Stephanie insisted on arguing, so she had no choice but to give up.”
In short, the person who caused all this wasn’t Roxanne, it was Stephanie.
The people in the lounge were all amazed.
“Her team was pretty impressive, they could even spin this,” Katrina said. “No idea where she found those people.”
Jeremiah nodded too and said, “I still remember that tweet from her family before, ‘A kind person like her will become an angel to protect you.‘ The word ‘saint‘ should never be stigmatized.” That just put Roxanne on a pedestal and made her image really solid.
Stephanie nodded too.
Roxanne always knew about her own abilities and the abilities of the marketing team behind her.
It’s just a pity, she was a victim of Roxanne’s marketing.
Think about it, she said, “I think that’s about it, we can start.”
Jeremiah nodded and talked with Logan and the others in the group at
