Chapter 124
He just took one last look at Stephanie’s closed bedroom door at the entrance, then looked away and left the villa.

Stephanie didn’t relax until she saw Maxwell leave.
She rushed over and locked the door, then dragged the table over to block it. Only then did she sit weakly on the floor.
Stephanie held her collar tightly, Maxwell’s scent was still lingering on

She knew Maxwell was right, she couldn’t go back in her drunk state, so she had to stay here tonight.
Even though they were still legally married, even though they had spent countless passionate days and nights together, and even had two kids.
But he had Roxanne now, and now he went to Roxanne like he was on fire, and after that he would…
Even knowing all this, she still didn’t want to.
She didn’t want him a long time ago.

Maxwell walked all the way to the car, and as soon as he got into the driver’s seat, Edwin hurried over.
“Mr. Humphrey, Mr. Humphrey, where were you going?” Edwin said

anxiously. “Madam Humphrey specifically told me that Mr. Humphrey and Mrs. Humphrey should stay at the manor tonight.”
Maxwell paused for a moment and rolled down the window
Edwin’s wrinkled old face looked even more real.
“Some things.” Maxwell said, “I’ll come back tomorrow morning to have breakfast with Grandpa and Grandma.”
Edwin got even more anxious.
“Mr. Humphrey. this wasn’t just about having breakfast.”
Edwin said. “Madam Humphrey let Mr. Humphrey and Mrs. Humphrey stay overnight because she wanted you two to make up.”
made up…
Stephanie’s tearful eyes showed up in front of Maxwell again.
He lowered his eyes a little and didn’t answer.
“Mr. Humphrey, you couldn’t do this. If you left, I wouldn’t be able to explain to Madam Humphrey.” Edwin said.
“You didn’t need to tell Grandma.” Maxwell started the car. “I’ll be back tomorrow morning.”
After he finished talking. Maxwell backed up, avoided Edwin, and drove out
“Mr. Humphrey, Mr. Humphrey!”
There was Edwin calling from behind. Maxwell just glanced at the rearview mirror and left.
The Bentley sped down the road at night, Maxwell stared ahead, he

didn’t know how he felt right now, just felt a mess.
Things were a mess.
My mind was a mess.
He couldn’t figure everything out.
Could only blindly try to solve some problems.
This was a situation that had never happened before.
When it came to the company, he always planned things well and made tough decisions, but this time, he just couldn’t do it.
It seemed like everything was slowly slipping out of his control.
All this made him feel scared.
Maxwell took a deep breath and made himself push those thoughts aside for a while.
Roxanne was really sick, he needed to go see a doctor.
Drove all the way to Roxanne’s place.
Parked the car, went upstairs, rang the doorbell.
Then, Roxanne opened the front door.
This was what Maxwell saw after he knocked on Roxanne’s door
Roxanne was just standing inside the door, wearing a camisole nightdress.
He frowned a little.
Roxanne seemed to know this wasn’t good, but she stubbornly kept

quiet and just looked down.
Finally, it was Maxwell who took off his coat and put it over her shoulders.
“Go in, it’s cold outside.” Maxwell said.
Roxanne finally nodded and went in with Maxwell.
Roxanne looked Maxwell up and down.
Changed clothes and pants.
You could tell he changed his clothes before he came over.
He and Stephanie were in the same house. Why did he need to change clothes for whatever they were doing?
The more she thought about it, the angrier Roxanne got.
She finally managed to completely keep Stephanie herself under control, but now there was an extra kid, and those two old geezers over there were still interfering!
All her previous efforts were wasted, and what if Stephanie got pregnant with Maxwell’s child again, then what?
But the more she thought about it, the more she had to keep a straight face.
She just sat next to Maxwell, coaxing Yan, kept wiping her tears, .. didn’t say a word.
Maxwell looked at Roxanne like that and also felt a bit troubled.
He thought for a moment and said, “Don’t cry.”
But just this one sentence made Roxanne cry even harder.

She looked up, and her tears fell in big drops.
She reached out to grab Maxwell’s collar.
“What are you doing?” Maxwell frowned a little and pulled her hand away, setting it aside.
“Did you sleep with her?” Roxanne cried, “Max, didn’t you say you were going to divorce her?”
“Max, you promised me, why did you do it with her?”
“Max, I was in so much pain, I felt like I was so sad I could die.”
