Chapter 67

“How can you do that?” Kaylee was the first person to shout at Rhiannon as she couldn’t believe the latter’s words.

She also knew that if Rhiannon sold her shares, the company’s largest shareholder would be someone new, someone they didn’t know and weren’t familiar with. If that happened, she would lose the company completely unlike when it was in Rhiannon’s hands.

She could play some games and get it from Rhiannon.

Now listening to Rhiannon’s decision, she knew that the latter had already seen through her and didn’t want to be associated with her or the company.

“Who do you think you are to ask me that? Are we related in any way or are you my husband? You aren’t the one who gave me the shares in my hands so why should I care about what you say? They are mine and I have a right to do with them what I want,” Rhiannon said coldly as she stared at the latter with murderous eyes.

Kaylee was frightened by the latter’s cold words, her red bloodshot eyes that were staring at her seeming as if they were penetrating through her soul and the aura that Rhiannon had released.

Not only was Kaylee frightened but also the shareholders. None of them seemed to get their voices back to question the latter.

After the outburst, Rhiannon took a deep breath and calmed herself as she knew it wasn’t a good thing to lose control in that manner.

She didn’t say anything else but glanced at every person seated in the room causing them to cower and shrink in their seats as they felt that the devil was invading their premises.

If Rhiannon knew their fear and thoughts, she would have been surprised and then laughed claiming that if that was the case, she would always behave like that so that people would not take advantage of her.

“Miss Rhiannon, are you sure about your decision?” the vice president asked with a frown after some time of calming herself down.

“Yes. I thought that we would have together and strive for higher heights but if you guys can agree to Kaylee’s proposal for a meeting and not even inform me, the company’s president and even tell me that the company belongs to the Adams, do you think that I will feel safe after everything?” Rhiannon asked causing the shareholders to lower their heads out of shame and guilt.

“If I didn’t have Grandpa’s letter with me, I am sure you guys wouldn’t have given me a chance to defend myself. You are likely to snatch what belongs to me by force,” Rhiannon added without giving any of them a chance to say anything.

“I can’t risk running the company with you guys by my side always fearing that might suddenly oppose me and throw me out of my mother’s company. For this, either of us have to retreat,” Rhiannon said then stopped talking as she waited for their answer.

“I know what you all are thinking. Why can’t I sell my shares to the Clarks since they are the ones who have been in charge of the company for long, right?” Rhiannon asked stunning them.

They looked at each other and then glanced at her while Kaylee couldn’t believe Rhiannon‘s words. She knew how much the old men and women hated her and always compared her to Rhiannon, how then can they let her be the future successor? It was evident that with Rhiannon, they would have a prosperous future since they now knew that she had other companies.

But she forgot what Rhiannon had said. The shareholders opted to work with the Clarks rather than working with a total stranger. If Rhiannon had not made them feel threatened and seemed not to respect them, they would have no issue with her running the company but since she said she couldn’t work with her, they didn’t see the need to force someone. They felt that they better let her do what she wanted and continue to be arrogant as they watched whether she would become successful in the future.

“Yes, It's better for us to work with them than a stranger,” one of them said what he thought making Rhiannon nod her head.

“Not bad. I already knew that you guys would say something like that but you all forgot that there is a dispute between the Clarks and I. Also, this company was founded by my mother. She used her own money to build it and even ran it for a while before retiring and leaving it to Mr Clark to run it. How can I leave the company to the hands of those who don’t respect my mother?” She asked them in a serious tone making their faces turn red out of embarrassment as they felt they were indeed not thinking.

“How can I sell it to the family that might be responsible for my mother’s death? Also, I have a deep grudge against Kaylee and I don’t want to see her living a good life. In the past, I used to hold myself back as we shared the same father and it would hurt him but after knowing the truth, do you think that I will hold back anymore?” she asked coldly as she looked at Kaylee before averting her gaze.

“It's better ruining the company than selling it to them. The reason I am not doing that is because I am thinking of the poor employees, What would happen to them if I do that? What will they eat, pay their rent, and provide school fees for their children,” she said.

Kaylee stared at Rhiannon in deep hatred as she understood why Rhiannon was adamant about selling the company. She vowed that if she couldn’t enjoy her life, neither would Rhiannon do so.

Even if she has nothing left, she would make her pay as it seems that death didn’t want to welcome her. She vowed she would make Rhiannon’s life miserable till she wished she was dead.

What she was thinking was the same thing Rhiannon was thinking. She felt that killing Kaylee wasn’t as fun as making her suffer till she regretted what she did and wished she could die. She said that if one day Kaylee got fed up with the world and wanted to die, she would save her and let her continue living.

The shareholders started talking among themselves as Rhiannon stared at them with a smirk.

After waiting for ten minutes, the shareholders stopped talking and looked at Rhiannon whose eyes were already on them.

“We have decided after discussing it. We will sell the shares to you,” the oldest of them said causing Rhiannon to nod her head with a smile on her face.

“That’s great. Don’t worry, I will pay the shares at a good price and even add a few million on top,” Rhiannon told them before pressing a button on her wristwatch.

“Why sell to her, why can’t you sell to me? I will buy the shares at double the price she offers.”
