Chapter 25

"I think we can't work this thing out. I'm sorry." I walked out.

I was about to go away when he grabbed my arms and dragged me to the garden. I was hoping to see my cousins to save me from the guilt that I'm feeling right now.

"Let's talk."

"Why do we have too? I hurt you just please let me go." I cried.

"But letting you go hurts more. Please hear me out." He said and hugged me.

"I was so scared back then when you left me with that note. I ran as fast as I could hoping that I would see you and get you back." He explained.

I remembered when Yuri called me to said what just happened that day.

"Selena I saw Ciro. He's finding you." He said.

"Did you say something to him?" I asked nervously.

"Nah I respect your decision. It's just that, he looked sick."

The guilt creeps in my body, and I badly want to come back to his arms, but it's unfair now. I already made my decision and I should stand by it.

"He's running with no slippers on and he gave me your letter."

That's the best reason I thought, I will make it look like I'm into someone else already, I thought he will finally move on.

"I ran with no slippers on just to be fast and find you as soon as possible."

"You shouldn't waste your time in me."

"And then I heard the news that you and Prince are officially together and studied to states." He cried.

I never expected him to cry in front of me. He held my hand and cried himself.

"I thought you love me. Why didn't you fight for me, fight for us?"

"I thought it would be better if I just le—"

"Leaving is not the best option Selena. We could make things out and convinced your grandfather to make me marry you instead."

"I'm sorry." I frowned.

I know whatever reason I say it's my fault. I left him broken and I just came back thinking nothing was wrong.

"My dad died fighting for us. My grandfather wants me to marry a Chinese girl. My dad fight for us because she wanted us till the end. He died fighting Selena because he wants us to be happy—"

"And I just throw everything away." I cut him off.

He looked at me and wiped his tears.

"Please let's give us another chance. Selena, please."

"Do you think we are going to make it?" I asked out of nowhere.

"We are going to make it. I want to be your hardest goodbye baby. Please don't leave me again.

"I won't this time I promise."

We are about to talk more when I saw Yuri running towards us and shouting his lungs out.

"Lolo Alfredo had a heart attack, at the hospital now!" He shouted.

I panicked and immediately grabbed Ciro's arms, we need to go I need to see Lolo Alfredo.

Alfredo's POV

I saw Selena and Ciro making things out, I'm happy that even if they have a lot of problems they still make it till the end.

"I love you, you know that right?" I asked my wife.

"You already forget my name but I love you too." She laughed.

That's true, I barely remember her name. I don't know but maybe it's because of oldness.

"I felt like I gotta go now." I smiled.

"Gotta go where?"

"You know where it is darling."

I saw her crying and she intertwined our fingers.

"I see this coming please be happy." She cried.

"I know they will take care of you. I'm old and weak, I can't take the pain anymore." I confessed.

"We are still going to see each other again right?"

"We are and I will always guide you from afar."

"I love you Alfredo."

"I will always love you Georgina."

I felt my heart skipped a bit and everything went black. I could hear shouts but I couldn't see them clearly.

I know I will die piece fully now. I may not be the best grandfather but at least I had tried to be a good one.

May my letters reached them and made them smile when they read it. Before I fully closed my eyes, I saw the beautiful face of my wife, you will be always in my heart darling.

Epilogue The first time I saw her, I know it will be her and not anyone else.

She may be grumpy and silly but she's the most beautiful woman I have ever met.

"Daddy what are you thinking?" Celes hugged me tight.

"Your daddy is thinking about other girl." Selena rolled her eyes.

I focused my eyes on her and saw her teaching our son to walk. It's been 2 years since the day where Lolo Alfredo had a heart attack.

"Grandpa, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Selena kept crying.

I hugged her easing the pain that she's feeling.

We waited at the hospital's lobby. Santiago family kept crying and hugging each other.

"I know Papa can't make it." Tito Paulo smiled bitterly.

"He is too old. He needs to rest if ever he will survive." Lola Georgina said while wiping her tears.

"I'm sorry Lola, I'm sorry for disappointing Lolo all the time." Yuri cried.

"No Iho, you made him proud." Lola Georgina smiled weakly.

We saw the doctor went out of the operating room.

"We did all we can. I'm sorry." He frowned.

"What are you thinking daddy!" Our first born is so silly like her mother.

"You want to visit grandma later?" I asked.

"Yes! I want to visit Tito Yuri and Tita Carylle too." Celes giggled.

"Asked mommy about it. Do some cute things so she won't get mad." I whispered.

I saw Celes walked towards Selena and hugged her mother immediately. We really made a cute girl huh?

"Mommy can we visit grandma later?" She pouted.

"But we are going to sleep today right?" Selena raised her eyebrows.

I saw Celes crying and ran towards me. I hugged her tight and caressed her hair.

"We will go, let your mother sleep here alone." I said loudly so Selena can hear it.

"Ok fine, we will go." Selena rolled her eyes.

Celes high five me and giggled. The key to her yes is seeing our babies crying.

Selena dressed Celes and Austin and we went inside the car.

"What's that song again baby? That you always sing whenever we will go out?" I asked Celes.

"I'll sing it daddy!" She said in a hype tone.

"Looks like someone get your hyperness." Selena laughed and looked at Celes.

"We are going on a trip! On our favorite rocket ship! Going to the sky, my family and I!" She started to sing and play her brother's hand.

"They are really adorable." Selena giggled as she went out of the car.

I saw Selena hugging Yuri and they are talking about something. Yuri became an important role in our love story, without him Selena will totally give me up.

"Tito Yuri guess who's here!" Celes giggled.

"Is that my bubbly and beautiful baby?" Yuri shouted and hugged Celes.

They are close, maybe because Yuri wants a child by now but he doesn't have a girlfriend.

I saw Lola Georgina and kissed her on her cheeks. She looks stronger and happy now. Maybe she already moved on.

"Who wants cookies?" I saw Carylle hugged Celes.

"Me! Celes wants cookies!" Our first born giggled.

They took our children and left us on the garden. I just can't believe that we are here now. We have our own family.

"I never thought that we will end up together after what happened." Selena looked at me.

"I always think that we will end up together. I'm a wishful thinker." I said proudly.

"I really thought you will marry Hazel. What happened for the 5 years that I'm not here?" She suddenly asked.

"After 2 years you finally asked for this." I laughed.

"Because I'm still guilty back then." She pouted.

I held her hand and let her head fell on my shoulders.

"When you left I was devastated. I didn't know what to do. They planned the wedding and let me date Hazel." I started.

"My mother doesn't want that to happen. She wants you because my father believed that it will be you and me till the end."

"So you're like your father huh? Confidence level 999." I joked.

"She kept on asking me what's wrong with her, why can't I love her. Believe me, I tried, but every night when I am about to sleep, I always think about you." I confessed.

"I even asked myself if everything's worth it. If it will be you and me in the end." I sighed.

"I'm sorry."

"I thought you were happy with someone else. With that Prince. I thought that he's your end game and I'm just your starting point. It's painful."

"I asked Hazel if she can help me out even if I know I will hurt her. She then agree and accepted the fact that no matter will happen, this heart." I pointed my chess.

"Will be always into you baby."

I reminisce everything and started to tell her what just happened.

"When I saw you at that family dinner, I told myself it's my chance to win you back. To maybe get you back if ever I have a chance. Even if I saw him kissing you I still believe that you still love me."

"Because I really do."

"And after that Hazel let me go, finally. She moved away and I didn't saw her again. Even in our wedding, she didn't attend. I felt bad but I know I will hurt her more if we didn't stop that dating thing."

I stopped and held her waist.

"Cause I can't see my future with someone else. It's always been you Selena, it's always you."

"I'm sorry for everything Ciro, I won't leave you again." She frowned.

"You better not to! See this rings, it means you are mine and I'm yours." I smirked.

"See that children, that’s the proof that I love you so much." She said and kissed my cheeks.

"You know the time when you walked away. I wish that I got you pregnant." I laughed.

I saw her rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Why would you even wish for that! I don't have a degree yet."

"So you'll come back to me. So that I will see you again because I badly want to be with you."

"I'm proud of you." She smiled.

"Why?"

"Because you fulfilled your promise. You became the best lawyer in town."

"I didn't fulfill it." I looked away.

"You said be happy but there is no day that I didn't cry, I always think about you and I end up crying every night."

Before she could say sorry I grabbed her arm and we went to the car.

"What about our kids?" She asked.

"Yuri will take care of them." I winked.

I drive to the place where we first saw each other. At the campus.

"Why did you brought me here huh?"

"This is where we started everything." I smiled.

I brought her at the gymnasium and then a slow music played, I smiled at Liam and he show his thumb.

"I love you Ciro." She whispered.

You loved me when I'm at my highest and you still do when I show you the monsters inside me, that's why they love you too. I love you too.
