Chapter 20

"Blow your candles!" Prince said.

It's been two months since then, when I left the most precious thing in my life. When I left him, my love.

I blowed out the candles and smiled.

"Any wish?" He asked.

I hope he's successful and happy like what he promised me.

"You two really look good together." Akisha giggled.

She's one of our classmates and become one of my best friends.

America life is fun. We focus on ourselves and studies at the same time. Going to malls and parties, I wonder if I could experience this if I'm in the Philippines.

"Night out later to celebrate your birthday!" Akisha said and waved her hand as a sign of goodbye.

"What do you think I'm going to wear?" I asked Prince.

"Maybe some tube top and high waisted pants and a rubber shoes." He suggested.

I agreed on what he just said and get those stuffs. Being here, I learn how to do my own make up without getting a help from Kzarina. Life here is really different. I put light makeup on and decided to just let my hair flow. I get my pastel pink bag and put my wallet and cellphone there.

"You are always here Ma'am." The bouncer joked Akisha.

"Because I'm pretty." She smirked.

The bouncer was about to prevent me from entering when Prince smiled and said something.

"She's already 18, just her birthday today." He winked.

"Oh well, happy birthday and nice party!" The bouncer let me in.

The night was fun, the lights used to blind my eye and the sound of the dance floor kept on punching my ears.

Look what you made me do~

I'm with somebody new~

Oh baby, baby I'm dancing with a stranger~

Look what you made me do~

I'm with somebody new~

Ohh baby, baby I'm dancing with a stranger~

I sang dancing with the music. I'm a little tipsy and I saw Akisha making out with a man at the dancefloor. She's so wild.

"Elena!" I heard someone shouted.

At first I thought it wasn't me because I'm Selena and not Elena. I saw Prince walking towards me and shouted at my ear.

"Someone is calling you, go outside and answer." He shouted.

"Ok take care of Akisha." I shouted.

I find my way out and picked up my phone. I saw Carylle waving her hand at me and she's at our family table.

"Happy birthday! We are having a family dinner." She smiled.

I saw Kzarina beside her and also Kuya Mikko. I roamed around if I can see Yuri but he's not there.

"We missed you already. How are you?" She pouted.

"I'm fine and alive." I laughed.

She gave her phone to Kzarina and Kzarina showed me something. I saw Yuri walking towards our dining table. He looks so presentable and fine. I hope everything will be alright.

I saw Hazel too with someone else, with Ciro. I saw how her hand is intertwined with his hand. They look good together though.

"We are going to start. Happy birthday take care!" She said and waved goodbye.

I entered the bar and get some drinks. I drink and drink until I can't speak anymore. It's just so painful. A lot of people said we have no rights to be hurt because we are the one who left them but we have a reason and it pains me.

That should be me but yeah it's my fault because I gave up on him. It's my fault because I didn't even try to save our fallen relationship. Pity me.

I guess this is really our end. If ever we met again I know we would not have the same feelings as we felt before because our relationship already fall.

I wake up in a deep slumber where I saw Prince taking care of me.

"What happened?" I asked.

I looked at our surroundings and saw that I'm in my room, did I pass out?

He didn't even say a word instead he helped me up. He's always there for me and didn't even ask for a help in change of all the good deed he have done.

Time flies so fast and it's already five years since then. The pain and all of the memory still lingers on my mind.

"Architect! Are you ok?" Prince asked me.

As what I have expected he became and engineer when I told him that I want to be an architect.

I know I was really not that strong enough to let him go. Because up until now, I was holding his hand. I was still playing our memories holding each other's hand.

"You ready to go back?" Prince asked.

"Do I really have a choice?" I laughed.

"I know you miss the Philippines. Don't lie."

"I miss my cousins." I frowned.

"Do you miss him?" He asked.

"Let's not talk about that."

I was about to bought some food when I saw something in my Instagram feed.

Save the date! Ciro Privino and Hazel Santiago wedding. September 17!

I guess this is really the end for the both of us, even if there was never an "us."
