Chapter 16
"Selena wake up! Today's your final examination!" My mother shouted.
I rubbed my eyes and ran downstairs to take a bath. Time flies so fast, today is our final examination and next week will be our graduation.
That night when Hazel confessed to me everything, I didn't know what to say.
"Please I need Ciro. Selena, please." She cried.
I just closed my eyes and let myself sleep, I don't want to give him up. I promised him that I wouldn't give him up.
"Are you ready?" My father asked while reading a newspaper.
"Yes, I studied until 3 am." I smiled.
I received a text the exact time I reached school, it's from Ciro.
From: Big Brat Goodluck, I love you.
I didn't respond and just ran towards our classroom. I became cold since the last time I saw him. Everything is messed up. My relationship with Ciro, my relationship with my cousin Hazel, everything messed up.
I breathe and took the examination. It's not hard, just average.
"Pass your papers forward and you can go home."
I picked up my bag and walked towards Carylle.
"I'm going to throw a party tonight. At our house in Callisea Village." Yuri shouted.
Our classmates looked at him and they shouted.
"We will wait for you there ok?" Yuri waved his hand and snaked his arms on our shoulders.
"Tita knows that party?" Carylle asked.
"Of course! She even suggested that to cool our minds." He smiled.
"Our cousins will be there?" I asked.
"Hazel will be there." Carylle said.
I nodded and texted my mother that I will sleep in Yuri's house tonight. She approved it immediately because it's my cousin, this is the perks of having your cousin as your best friend.
"We need to go get some groceries." Yuri smiled and we went inside Tito Caspher's car.
"There will be no oldies later. What did I tell you Yuri?" Tito Caspher looked at Yuri.
"Don't forget to behave."
"What else?"
"No one will be dead. No one will have a baby after 9 months." Yuri laughed.
"Good, remember it girls."
We nodded and laughed. We entered the grocery store and get some stuffs.
"Going to get a lot of beers and hard liquors." Yuri said and ran towards that section.
I get gummy bears, candies and foods. I just want ice cream so I get a lot.
"Why are you getting a lot Selena?" Carylle asked confusedly.
"Because Yuri's going to pay." I giggled.
"Damn you are so smart. I'm going to get a lot." Carylle grinned.
I was about to go outside when I saw Liam walking towards me. Didn't they have class?
"Long time no see Selena." He smiled.
"Yeh, why are you here? I thought you have classes today?" I asked confusedly.
"The class is cancelled." He shrugged his shoulders.
"So Ciro is here?"
"Actually Ciro is—"
He was about to say something when someone called him. His face became serious and he nodded.
"I'm sorry, I gotta go now emergency. See you somewhere." He said then ran away.
Ending, Yuri payed a lot and rolled his eyes.
"I never knew that the two of you would almost buy the whole store."
"Behave, don't die and don't make baby. Understand you three?" Tito Caspher said.
"Yes tito, we are gonna go now." Carylle waved bye.
We set up the tables on the garden and cleaned the pool. Their house is so beautiful and huge. There's a lot of rooms upstairs.
Our classmates ran towards upstairs and picked their bed. Carylle, Hazel, Yuri and I are going to sleep in the same room.
I saw Hazel smiled at me and I just nodded at her.
"Are you two ok now?" Carylle asked.
"Yeh, I hope so."
I saw Prince waving at me, holding a lot of junk food.
"I never thought you would come. You are such a good boy and not a party one." I laughed.
"I'm a party one outside the school." He chuckled.
I checked my phone if I have a message from Ciro. Is he going home?
"Damn, my phone is dead." I sighed.
"Here borrow my charger." Prince handed me his charger.
"You are a boy scout, aren't you?" I laughed and took his charger.
I changed my clothes so I can swim. It's 8 in the evening already and everyone is going wild.
"Wait for a second guys." Yuri shouted.
Everyone stopped at what they are doing and looked at Yuri.
"My parents told me three reminders, please follow these."
"Just behave. No one is going to die and no one will give birth after 9 months."
Everyone laughed and clapped their hands. I saw Yuri walked towards Ferry and held her waist, maybe they are official now.
I got some beer and decided to drink it. I sat on the bench at the side and closed my eyes.
"I never know you drink beer." Prince sat beside me.
"I'm a human." I laughed.
"Yuri's parents are cool." He chuckled.
"They are. Tito Caspher always understand us and spoils Yuri, maybe because he's the only child." I shrugged my shoulders.
"How are you?" He asked.
I looked at him and smiled, that's a random question.
"I'm fine and happy. How about you?"
"I have feelings for someone." He said and drink the beer.
"You should confess."
"I don't think she will like me." He smiled.
"She will, you are an ideal boy." I said boosting his confidence.
"I'll tell you more about her." He smiled.
I nodded and drink my beer while listening to him.
"She's cute and kind. She always listen, she's always there when someone need her. She's perfect in my eyes." He smiled and drink some beer.
"Do you think she will like me?"
"She will, just give your shot. C’mon confess to her." I smiled.
"I don't want to, I'm nervous." He laughed.
"Go get some practice with me, example I'm the one you like. I'll rate if you'll pass or not." I suggested.
"Selena, I like you since day one. You caught my attention. Your flaws are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. You help people with their problems, you are always there for your cousins."
I don't know why everything seems so real. Maybe because he's drunk already.
"Then what?" I asked.
"I like you even if I know I didn't stand a chance." He faked a smile.
"You love someone else and I know no matter how hard I try it's always him." He said and drink some beer.
"Maybe you are drunk already, listen to what you are saying." I laughed.
"I like you Selena, I really do." He looked at me seriously.
"But you know I have someone special. Prince I don't want to hurt you, I—"
"Shh, you don't need to say sorry. You don't need to say something or to explain yourself." He smiled.
"But I—"
"Shh, I told you already it's ok. I choose this, even if I know you won't like me back I didn't hold back my feelings. No need to apologize because it's my fault Selena. It's ok." He said.
"Can I just have a hug?" He asked.
I moved closer to him and I was about to give him a hug when someone grabbed him and punch him.
I saw Ciro punching Prince harder.
"Ciro, omygosh, stop!" I shouted.
I moved closer to Prince and checked him. I saw Ciro looking at me with the pain in his eyes. Everybody is looking at us now.
Ciro walked away and I looked at Prince. He's nose is bleeding.
"Are you ok? I'm sorry." I asked him worriedly.
"It's ok, follow him. They will take care of me, follow him." He said and shoo me away.
"Everyone I will handle this, you can go back to what you are doing." I heard Yuri shouted.
I ran outside the house and loomed for Ciro. I saw him walking towards his car. I grabbed his arm and make him face me.
"What is your problem?!" I asked.
"Nothing." He said and shrugged his shoulders.
"What's the matter with you Ciro? You just punch him, he didn't do something wrong!" I shouted in anger.
"He was about to hug you." He frowned.
"That's all? Damn Ciro, that is just a friendly hug."
"You can give him a friendly hug while you can't even hug me?"
"What are you saying? What are you pointing here?" I asked angrily.
"I need you Selena. I texted you, I waited you for hours in our tree house."
But I didn't get any text, my phone is charging.
"You can comfort others but you can't comfort me." He smiled.
"But it's just a hug Ciro. Why are we fighting about this? You are making this a big deal!"
"Because it is Selena. I need you the most today, if I can handle this I won't even bother you with that guy."
"I didn't know."
"My father is rushed to the hospital and he died hours ago. I need you the most Selena, I need you..." He cried.
