Chapter 254
Lewana POV 

As soon as the wedding ceremony is over, we all head into the barn for the reception. Most of the people here are humans, as the pack will participate in the following coronation ceremony more. We do all the usual stuff I have seen before. Have a meal, cut the cake, and dance. 

I stay by Conrad's side most of the night, but I am looked after by the bridesmaids very well. They whisk me away to rest when needed, made sure I ate, and that I wasn't on my feet for too long. The main benefit of being extremely pregnant and having a serious scare a while ago is that when the night was called at 9:30, no one batted an eyelid. 

As all the humans pack up and leave, Conrad and I retreat to the side room to get ready for the next ceremony. The coronation. As soon as the door shuts, he guides me over to the seat. 

"How are you holding up, Moonlight? I know it's a big day for you".  

I look down at my belly and rub it gently. "I'm good. We're all good. Today has been amazing. I'm sorry I said I didn't want all this". 

He chuckles and bends down to remove my shoes and start rubbing my swollen feet. 

"Don't apologize. I get why you didn't. I know this is all for show, so I'm just glad it went well. We just have one last thing". 

After resting for a while, we get ready. We get the notification that the pack and all the Alphas are ready. The only difference this time is that we are wearing our crowns. 

We walked hand in hand to the same space where we had the wedding ceremony. This time, all the visiting Alphas and our pack were there. We walked with our heads held high to the stage, letting our Alpha Auras wash over the crowd as we approached. We knew Valerie was filming this for the werewolves' network to watch. We even heard of some packs tuning in on big projector screens. 

Conrad used his booming Alpha voice to address the crowd in a much more serious tone than at the wedding. 

"To all my kin Werewolves, tonight we make history. We make changes. We make a legacy, and we make our way forward as a species. Despite war, enemies, trials, and betrayal, we have found our Luna Queen". 

The howls that erupted from the pack vibrated through me, stiring Serena with pride and strength. I smiled when I realised he said ours and not mine. This was no longer just about us. 

Conrad lifted his hand to quiet down the crowd before addressing them again. 

"Tonight, under a blue moon and the Moon Goddess's gaze, the pack Alphas will formally make their pledges of dedication to her as their Luna Queen and start healing our world". 

The Alphas, all in ceremonial robes, form a line and step forward. Alpha Leroy is first. 

Conrad smiles. "Cousin. Ready to make your pledge?" 

There was an audible gasp, but I knew it was coming. Since finding out Conrad and Leroy were related, it has never been made public. But when we had discussed the issue, it felt right. A way to honour the last blessed wolf and the sacrifice Conrad's grandmother made. 

Leroy was stunned into silence at the acknowledgement and started stuttering. "Eeermm, yes... cous....Alpha King". 

Conrad uses a ceremonial dagger to make a cut along Leroy's palm. We each make a cut in our index fingers and hold his hand so our blood mixes while he kneels before us. 

Conrad continues. "Do you, Alpha Leroy, pledge your allegiance to your Alpha King and Luna Queen on behalf of your pack and its members. Do you swear to honour us through our bond as kin, and the protection of our Moon Goddess?" 

I could see Leroy's eyes flutter as he tries to remain stoic when the word kin is mentioned. He takes a deep breath before he replies. 

"On behalf of my pack, I, Alpha Leroy, will honor this bond with my life, and my family will serve yours for the rest of time". 

I flinch slightly when I feel our bond snap into place. It feels different from the one I have with Conrad. That one always feels like a river with energy flowing between us. This one is more like a tether of light. Bright enough to know it's there, you don't feel a pull. 

This repeats with all the other twelve Alphas as they make the commitment as well. We then move on to the pack. As it is an extremely large pack, it would be impossible for everyone to make a commitment to me personally. 

Conrad and I cut our palms and face each other. We join hands as we look into each other's eyes, and he addresses the Roral Moon Pack. 

"Pack members. We have been honoured not only in finding such a strong, intelligent, and beautiful Luna, but also a blessed one. Through the bond connection to your Alpha, extend the offer to your Luna, acknowledging her position". 

I close my eyes and can feel them. Conrad's hand starts to feel warm against my skin. I can feel the flow of energy up my arm and straight into my chest, and each bond snaps onto my soul. My eyes fly open, and Serena surges forward as we send the energy and the flow back through Conrad to the pack. 

Conrad refuses to let go of my hand as the energy dies down and pulls me in for a kiss. The cheering that breaks out is deafening. I am startled away from Conrad when I hear fireworks behind me.

I can see that many wolves in the crowd have started celebrating and shifting into their wolf forms, which makes me laugh at first, but my eyes are drawn to the moon. I stare at her amazing white glow with slightly blue edges and feel myself go into a trance.

Conrad comes up to me. He must have noticed something was wrong. He starts to talk, but it sounds like he is underwater, and all the sound is muffled. 

I don't hear his question, but respond to him the best I can. 

"Something is happening".
