Chapter 206: Infidelity

Chapter 206: Infidelity

Joshua's gaze turned cold as it slowly moved to Lika's face. "No proof needed. She's innocent."

One absolutely firm statement, full of conviction.

Lika's face looked terrible. Even at a time like this, he still trusted her so much.

Lika bit her lip hard.

Never mind. Once he saw Ava tangled up with another man in a bit, she was sure he'd be disappointed.

He would abandon Ava without mercy.

She was just waiting to watch Ava's downfall.

Lika sneered inwardly, but her face showed nothing but concern. "Joshua, I know you trust Ava, and I'm willing to trust her too, but that doesn't mean others will. My suggestion just now was for Ava's sake. Now that this has happened, if we don't get to the bottom of it, the rumors won't stop. This is the best way to prove her innocence."

Lika looked like she had Ava's best interests at heart. Her reasoning was sound and made perfect sense.

This was indeed the best way to prove innocence.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

The attendant who had just been punched twice by Samuel was covering his face and wailing, insisting over and over, "I'm not lying, I'm really not lying. I really saw it."

Seeing the attendant so insistent, everyone had pretty much made up their minds.

If he hadn't actually seen it with his own eyes, he couldn't possibly stick to his story like this under these circumstances, refusing to back down.

So this must be true.

Everyone looked at Joshua with sympathy in their eyes.

This was probably the biggest news in recent times.

"Why don't we go up and take a look? If there's nothing, it'll prove Ava's innocence."

Those watching the drama never minded fan the flames. One person spoke up and others followed.

"Yeah, otherwise even if it's fake, it'll become real."

"Right, let's go check it out."

Catching someone in the act—how interesting. Everyone felt a bit excited inside.

And the most excited was none other than Lika. Hiding the smile in her eyes, she stepped forward and said earnestly, "Joshua..."

"What do you want to see?"

A clear voice came slowly from the doorway.

"Mommy~" Finn and Cleo excitedly ran toward Ava.

Ava bent down and opened her arms to hug the two little ones. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes, we missed you so much." Finn and Cleo kissed Ava on the cheek.

Joshua strode toward Ava and gently pulled the woman into his arms. "Wearing so little? What if you catch a cold?"

Ava looked up slightly, her beautiful eyes sparkling with a smile brighter than the stars and sea. "I knew you'd come, so I didn't even bring a coat."

"You're really too smart." Joshua smiled helplessly. Samuel had already handed over the coat Joshua had prepared in advance.

Joshua put the coat on Ava and pulled the woman back into his arms.

Ava had never felt as warm as she did at this moment.

She had heard it just now—when everyone was doubting her, he believed in her without wavering.

Briar's eyes flashed with relief and understanding.

It seemed her grandson really had no chance at all.

This man loved Ava deeply. He carved all his love into the details.

Even more incredible was that he didn't question her about what just happened at all.

In other words, he trusted her from beginning to end.

His presence, his every word and action, told everyone that he loved this woman and trusted her completely.

Who could shake such love?

The faces of all those who had just been convinced that Ava was in Timothy's room doing something improper with him froze again and again.

Their expressions could only be described as stunned.

And the one with the worst expression was Lika. She suddenly turned to look at the attendant, her eyes full of questioning and burning with rage.

The attendant was also frozen in place, completely in disbelief.

Ava's gaze swept lightly toward Lika. "What did you just want to go see?"

Lika was startled by Ava's question, purely out of guilty instinct. She forced out a stiff smile. "Ava, where were you just now?"

"Me?" Ava pressed her lips together, pretending to know nothing. "I've been with Grandma the whole time. Why?"

"That's impossible. I really saw her go into Timothy's room just now." The attendant said loudly.

Ava's gaze grew colder and colder. Ava's hand gently covered his and patted it lightly.

The man whose eyes had seemed ready to kill instantly became gentle.

Ava stepped forward two steps. "You're saying you personally witnessed me entering Timothy's room?"

Under Ava's cold gaze, the attendant's voice couldn't help but tremble.

"Yes, that's right. I saw it with my own eyes."

Ava smiled slightly. "But I've been with Grandma the whole time."

"That's right, Ava has been with me the whole time." Briar, who appeared with Ava, said calmly.

With Briar vouching for her, no one dared question it.

Lika was grinding her teeth. "Are you sure you saw Ava go into Timothy's room?"

"I'm sure, I'm really sure." The attendant insisted again. He had personally escorted her in, so of course he was absolutely certain. But why was she here now? What was going on?

He was confused too when he saw Ava appear.

"But Ava is right here, and she's been with Briar the whole time. How do you explain that?" Someone watching the drama asked.

"Could you have been mistaken?" Someone else questioned.

"Whether he was mistaken or not, we'll know if we go up and look, right? Even if he mistook the person, he couldn't have been wrong about whether someone went in or not."

Ava's delicate eyebrows raised slightly. "But since everyone has doubts, let's go take a look."

"Right."

Everyone chattered as they headed upstairs. Lika bit her lip hard, dialing Thea's number over and over again, but no one answered.

She had a very bad feeling.

Everyone went upstairs, and Lika could only grit her teeth and follow.

On the third floor, as everyone reached the hallway and passed by a room, the door was open, and sounds that made people blush came from inside.

Pleasured moans grew more and more intense.

Lika, walking behind, suddenly stopped, her legs going weak, a string in her heart snapping.

That voice!

Who else could it be but Thea?

Her mind went blank. What was happening in the room was crystal clear.

A light laugh came to her ear.

Lika stiffly turned her neck to see Ava standing beside her, her indifferent eyes full of mocking laughter.

As if everything was under her control.

And they were like clowns jumping around.

Various unspeakable sounds continued to come from the room. People at the door whispered, "Isn't that Thea? That's way too wild."

"Right? The person in Timothy's room is clearly Thea. Why did that attendant insist it was Ava?"

"Exactly, this is just making stuff up and wrongly accusing people!"

"Is that man Timothy? He doesn't look like it. Did you guys see?"

"Didn't look closely. That man is being straddled by Thea, can't see his face. Plus, watching such obscene scenes too much, aren't you afraid of getting a stye? Doing this kind of thing without even closing the door—that's pretty shameless."

The moaning continued. Thea seemed to have lost all reason, straddling the man and frantically taking what she wanted, not even noticing the crowd at the door.

People at the door looked uncomfortable listening.

"Thea and Timothy are really going at it."

"Just can't watch this."

Lika took two deep breaths, telling herself over and over: it's fine, it's fine. Thea and Timothy are engaged, so being together is no big deal.

From another perspective, they had sealed the deal.

Looking at it this way, they hadn't lost.

It's just that Ava escaped disaster.

"What's everyone crowding around here for?"

The moment a low, mellow voice sounded, Lika, who had just been feeling relieved, suddenly froze, her face changing drastically.
