Chapter 40

Chapter 40
The dining room was quiet except for the steady, relentless patter of rain against the towering windows. Beyond the glass, the storm had fully claimed the city. Sheets of silver rain blurred the skyline into hazy shadows and scattered pinpricks of light. Water raced down the panes, while distant thunder rumbled like a warning.

Inside, however, everything remained polished, warm, and meticulously controlled. Too controlled. Jonathan sat at the head of the long mahogany table, one hand resting beside his untouched plate. The steak was perfectly seared, still warm at the center, the vegetables glistened with butter and herbs, the red wine breathed untouched in its glass.

Ordinarily, he would have appreciated the it. But tonight, the food tasted like ash. His appetite had vanished the moment Alexandria’s accusation replayed in his head for the hundredth time, the words stung more than they should have. He was not that kind of man. He had many flaws, some darker than he cared to examine, but betraying confidence, especially about something this dangerous, was not one of them.

He would never discuss her with anyone. Especially not when she was his student, especially not when the age gap alone invited judgment from people who understood nothing. Michael Lockhart was an old friend from Yale. They had known each other long before they both decided that the whole loud lifestyle that came with wealth wasn't for them.

Michael had been at the club that night, yes. He had seen Alexandria in that provocative maroon dress that clung to every curve like sin made fabric. He had noticed her; every man in the room had. He had also seen Jonathan go after her when she left the club.

And when Jonathan brought her to the clinic earlier today, Michael had recognized her instantly and said nothing, he had known there was something between them but he hadn't mentioned it, not even when she left.

Yet she believed he was the kind of monster who would boast about sleeping with her.The thought irritated him more than it should have. Outside, the rain intensified, drumming harder against the glass in a relentless rhythm. It matched the tension winding low through his body, a dark, restless pressure that had not eased since he saw her today.

He lifted his gaze across the table. Alexandria sat several seats away, though the distance felt meaningless. She was eating slowly, almost mechanically, each bite deliberate as though she had to remind herself how hunger worked. But she was hungry, he could see it in the way she kept returning to the plate despite her obvious fatigue.

She had not been eating properly, that annoyed him too. Her eyes were still faintly swollen from crying earlier, the rims carried a trace of pinkness. Her cheeks remained flushed, whether from embarrassment, anger, or the warmth of the room, he could not tell.

Loose strands of dark hair framed her face, softening the stubborn set of her mouth. She looked exhausted, and in the dim golden light of the dining room, with the storm raging outside, she looked far too tempting. Everything about her pulled at him, even when she infuriated him, especially then.

She was disrespectful, insolent. A spoiled little brat who kept pushing every boundary he set, only to glare at him when he reacted. And yet the darker part of him wanted nothing more than to drag that sharp mouth into obedience. To fuck some respect into her until those pretty lips learned better than to speak to him with such insolence.

The image hit him with visceral force; her on her knees, tears shining in her eyes, lips stretched wide around his cock, pride finally stripped away. His cock twitched hard beneath the table, thickening rapidly against the confines of his trousers. Jonathan set his fork down with a quiet clink.

He no longer had any interest in the food, not when every glance across the table fed a different, far more urgent hunger. Across from him, Alexandria raised her head and their eyes met. Something shifted in the room. Her gaze had darkened, uncertain but aware. Moisture still lingered at the corners of her eyes from earlier tears, yet beneath it lay something hotter.

Something more dangerous; recognition. She knew exactly what had changed between them. The air thickened with everything left unsaid. Jonathan reached for his water and took a long swallow, letting the coldness steady him. It did little good.

Against his better judgment, he heard himself ask, “How are you feeling? Is your head still aching?”

Her lashes fluttered. She shook her head slowly.

“No.”The single soft word scraped against what little restraint he still possessed.

He pushed his chair back. The legs dragged across the polished floor with a sharp sound that seemed louder than it should have in the quiet room. Alexandria's eyes darkned even more and she licked her lips, making them moist and plump. She knew exactly what she was doing.

"Come here.” he heard himself say. She swallowed. But she stood and walked over to him. “Kneel between my legs.”

The silence after the order stretched thin and electric. He expected resistance, a sharp retort or a glare. Some last desperate attempt to preserve the pride she guarded so fiercely. Yet she lowered herself to her knees without a word.

The sight hit him harder than he anticipated. She settled between his spread thighs, spine straight at first, hands resting uncertainly in her lap. Her eyes remained lowered, fixed somewhere near his knees. But after a moment, she looked up, and he could see the shame, desire, and surrender.

The combination tightened every muscle in his body. Jonathan reached down and brushed a strand of dark hair from her face, tucking it carefully behind her ear. His fingers lingered against her cheek, tracing the faint path where tears had dried earlier. Her breath faltered.

He gathered the rest of her hair gently in one hand, drawing it back from her face and holding it loosely at the nape of her neck. Then he guided her forward until the side of her face rested against the thick, hard bulge straining beneath his trousers. She closed her eyes for one second.

"Do you want this?” he asked.

Her breath warmed the fabric between them.

“I do,” she whispered.

The answer snapped the final thread of control.

Jonathan freed himself with his other hand, he was already painfully hard and leaking at the tip. He tapped the swollen head lightly against her cheek once, then twice, watching her reaction. Then he tilted her chin up.

"Open.”

She did, slowly. Without argument.

He guided himself into her mouth at first with measured patience, savoring the wet heat, the softness of her tongue. Her lips stretched around him, tentative at first and then more certain as she adjusted to his girth.

A low groan escaped his throat. He tightened his hold in her hair, not enough to cause her discomfort, and then he began moving in deep strokes.

Alexandria made a muffled sound around him, one that vibrated straight through his shaft. Her lashes fluttered. Her hands gripped lightly at his thighs for balance as he set a steady rhythm, pushing deeper until he felt the tight resistance of her throat.

Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes again when he pressed too deep, but she didn’t pull away. She took him, breathing through her nose. Saliva beginning to drip down her chin in shiny trails. He watched her face the entire time; the way her throat worked around him, the way fresh tears slipped down her flushed cheeks. The way she looked up at him with glassy, submissive eyes even as she struggled to take all of him.

“You look pretty like this,” he murmured, voice dark with satisfaction. “Crying on my cock after disrespecting me all day.”

He fucked her mouth harder, holding her head in place as pleasure coiled tighter and tighter at the base of his spine. The wet, obscene sounds of her sucking him filled the dining room, blending with the rain hammering against the windows.

His breathing roughened. The pressure built fast and vicious. And when the release threatened to overtake him completely, he pulled out abruptly with a wet pop. Alexandria gasped softly, lips parted and swollen, chest rising and falling quickly. Jonathan stroked himself once, twice, fast and firm, while still holding her hair tightly in his other hand.

"Look at me.”

She obeyed immediately, her eyes were glassy with tears and lust. He came with a low, guttural groan on her face. Alexandria stayed perfectly still before him, breathing hard, accepting every drop as he marked her. For a long moment, the only sounds were their ragged breathing and the endless rain beyond the windows.

Jonathan looked down at her; at his cum glistening on her flushed face, at the way she looked up at him with that dazed, open expression, and he felt a deep, dangerous satisfaction settle in his chest.

This girl was going to be the ruin of him, but God help him, he wasn’t ready to let her go.
