Chapter Eighty-Four: The Black Dragon Groar
I leaned out the window and listened to the evil blonde witch behind me rant about how Margaret was young and weak in comparison to her. MS. Evil Witch was adamant that she was a much deadlier witch than Margaret. It’s blah blah blah. I was working up the courage to jump out the window, talking to myself. I decided I would count to three, then I would jump out the window. 1 (1000), 2(1000), 3(1000) Okay, I needed to count again. I just messed that up. Naturally, my sweet wolf, who always encourages me at the wrong time, chimes in.
Kiera - "Chicken!!! Bawk, bawk, bawk. Well, you will lose your ride if you don't hurry! Or the wicked witch of the west to barbecue us ala flambe."
Ashina -- " Well, if you're all hyped up about jumping out of that window, I'll shift so that you can jump in my place."
Kiera - " If I jump or you jump we will both suffer and die either way. Also, if I was supposed to fly, I would have been born a dragon, and seeing as I am not one, I would not jump. I doubt we will be able to shift anyway, magic is forbidden in this room. Never mind, I am tired of this!"
Ashina -- In the next couple of seconds, my wolf pushed forward. Of course, Kiera took charge of my actions and soon I was halfway out the window, but somehow I was stuck. My eyes were drawn to the evil witch who held on to one of my feet, preventing me from jumping. The fact that the witch wasn't using magic also meant that the room was blocking her magic. I don't think she's very smart, but who am I to argue?
I kicked off my shoe the witch was holding onto without thoroughly contemplating what I was going to do next. It was now a free fall headfirst for me. Kiera was screaming like a banshee in my head, "We are going to die, we are going to die. Moon Goddess, my stupid human, and I are coming to meet you." "SHUT UP Kiera! You are giving me a headache!" I needed to make a pillow of air now that I was outside of that tower. Hearing explosions in the sky above my head, I saw Margaret riding Irlas, (Cadma's) Dragon. Now I was fearful if my magic didn't work we just might just die. "Uh Dean? Why is Irlas flying above me and not below me to catch me following through the air?"
"Oh princess, I forgot to tell you that Cadma's mate did not want you to ride on Irlas' back. That is only for her. She was not happy about the idea. She will catch you below the clouds."
As we finally cleared the thick cloud that I saw from the tower, my fall felt like it was happening in slow motion. It was beautiful to see a sun dragon flying towards me. As soon as I saw her below, I felt a sense of relief. There is no difference between which dragon saved me. All I care about is the fact that a dragon was coming after me.
As I smiled at my wolf, I said, "See, we'll be fine, and you were such a woos crying about meeting the moon goddess." Kiera - "We haven't been saved yet."
-Ashina -
Kiera huffed and receded into the void she often retreats to in the back of my mind. Watching the beautiful dragon fly towards me, I marveled at the beautiful gold gems that were inlayed in her golden scales. I was soon taken from my admiring the beautiful dragon by a huge black dragon that started to tear at the dragon's wing that was trying to rescue me. I tried to create a windstorm to knock the Black dragon away from Cadma's mate, but the dragon was too big and too strong to be knocked away from her with my magic.
Cadmas' mate began to fall to the ground below Ashina. Irlas's mate's wing had been torn off by the black dragon, which had left her unable to fly. It was Malcolm that stood on the back of the black dragon, and I was heading straight for his dragon. With a thud, I landed on the black dragon, quickly shifting into Kiera. I was ready to tear Malcolm apart limb by limb. Dragons can mind link anyone.
Kiera asked, "What is your name dragon? So that I may know what to call you as you die by my paw."
"I am Groar, and it will be you that dies, little Wolf."
