Chapter 15 Illness

Iritadong tiningnan ni Hiro si Maxon at akmang hahawakan na ang nanghihinang si Adira ng bigla itong sinipa ni Maxon ng malakas dahilan para ito'y mapaluhod at pagkalaon ay natumba.

"Don't touch my woman, asshole." ani Maxon at tiningnan ito ng masama gayon din si Sky na akay-akay na ni Noemi. "Listen very carefully useless shits. I will make you all pay, big time. I will destroy you all, pieces by pieces. No one can escape my wrath even if you're in your grave." dugtong ni Maxon at iniwanan na ang mga ito.

Ang mahalaga sa kaniya ay ang madala si Adira sa ospital at magamot. Nagdudugo ang gilid ng labi nito gayon din ang magkabilaang nitong pisngi. Maxon's blood boils in anger when he remembered what he saw. Sisiguraduhin niyang gagapang ang mga ito sa lusak at magmamakaawang lubos and all of those useless people inside of his villa will vanish without a trace.

He will rebuild the villa and make it exclusive just for his sugar's safety.

"I will make them pay, Adira. Walang makakatakas kahit ni isa."

Mabilis ang naging kilos ni Maxon. He drove his car to the nearest hospital that he knows while thinking how should he punish those sinners.

It’s been a couple of hours since they arrived on the hospital and Maxon couldn't help but to punch the hospital's wall because of irritation. Kanina pa siya nakatayo at pabalik-balik sa tapat ng private room ni Adira ngunit ang doktor na tumitingin sa dalaga ay hindi pa rin lumalabas. Mabuti na lamang talaga at babae iyon kaya naman ay kampanti siya lalo na’t ang doktora ay pinsan niya.

"Mr. Ruscitti," saad ng isang tinig babae sa kaniyang likuran kaya naman agad na napahinto si Maxon at binalingan ito ng tingin at kaniyang inisang hakbang ang pagitan nila ng makitang iyon ay ang doktor ni Adira.

"How's my sugar, Doc? Does she have any fatal wounds?" Nagaalala at aligagang tanong ni Maxon sa doktor.

Ms. Perez—Adira's Doctor heave a sign before answering Maxon.

"I have a good news and a bad news for you, Mr. Ruscitti. Alin ang gusto mong unahin ko?" ani doktora Perez.

Naguguluhan namang tiningnan ni Maxon ang doktor at sinabing, "W-well, the good news... please?"

The doctor take a quick glance at her patients chart before answering Maxon.

"Well, the good news is she doesn't have any fatal wounds or internal bleeding... but—"

"Thank God!" masayang bulalas ni Maxon at siya'y tila ba nabunutan ng malaking tinik sa lalamunan ng dahil sa sinabi ng doktor. He's so happy to the point that he can kiss the hospital's floor right now.

"Thank you, Doc." seryosong saad ni Maxon.

"Don't thank me yet, Mr. Ruscitti. Sasabihin ko na ang bad news sa'yo ngayon so brace your self," wika nito.

"W-what is it?" Maxon ask nervously.

"I will go straight to the point, Mr. Ruscitti. My patient—your wife, have an ovarian cysts. Isa iyong bukol sa obaryo na karaniwang nagiging sakit ng kababaihan and it’s common symptoms are pelvic or abdominal pain, urinary frequency, difficulty on eating, bloating, fatigue, constipation, painful sexual intercourse and menstrual irregularities. Sa kaso ng asawa mo ay hindi pa iyon malala at base sa record niya na binigay sa akin Doc. Navarro ay maliit pa lamang iyon kaya kailangan niya ng agarang operasyon para hindi na lumala pa ng husto," seryosong saad ni Dr. Perez

"P-pardon?"Maxon said.

Maxon knees are shaking and so as his hands. His cold sweats are rolling down from his forehead down to his neck. Siya'y lihim na nananalangin na sana'y namali lamang sa kaniyang pagkakarinig, or maybe the doctor gets dizzy and record someone's diagnosis on Adira's chart.

"Mayroong ovarian cyst ang asawa mo. I know it's hard for you to believe me but, that's what the test say. At ang tanging sulosyon na lamang ay surgery. A laparoscopy surgery to be exact," seryosong ani Dra. Perez.

"Oh God..." mahina't nanlulumong saad ni Maxon habang unti-unting dumadausdos pababa sa sahig ng ospital.

"This can't be true... please... tell me you're joking Doc," Maxon pleads with teary eyes.

Si Maxon ay kasalukuyang nakayuko ay sapo-sapo ang kaniyang mukha. Siya'y naiiyak sa kaniyang narinig na balita. Ang akala niya'y okay lang ang lahat pero may mas malaking problema pa pala.

"It's true Mr. Ruscitti. I know that it will take time until you process it but please take care of your wife. Her body is slowly giving up oh her, so please take care of her hangga't hindi pa huli." mahabang saad ni Dra. Perez at tinapik pa ang kabilang bilikat ni Maxon.

"Doc..." wika ni Maxon.

"Yes, Mr. Ruscitti?"

"Do we still have a chance to get pregnant?" tanong ni Maxon sa mahinang tinig.

Lumambot naman ang reaksyon ni Dra. Perez ng dahil sa tanong ni Maxon. A small warm smile formed on her lips when she remembered that an ovarian cyst usually can’t affect pregnancy.

"Doc?" pukaw ni Maxon sa atensyon ng doctora.

Dra. Perez face Maxon with a smile and said, “You don’t need to worry about that Maxon, my dearest cousin. Ovarian cyst can’t affect pregnancy but of course it’s much better if your wife will undergo surgery first.”

Nang dahil sa sinabi ng doktora ay muling nabuhayan ng loob si Maxon. They have a chance to get pregnant and all he gonna do is to provide expert girl doctors for his sugar’s operation.

Maxon stood up straight and hug his cousin Carol tightly and said, “Thank you, I’m almost dead but you saved me with that.”

Carol tapped Maxon shoulder and said, “No worries Max, leave your wife’s operation to me and do the things you wanted to do. I know you have some serious yet dangerous matters in your sleeve.”

“You knew me very well huh?” Maxon said with amusement.

”It runs in our blood. We’re cousins after all.” Carol said while grinning.

After Maxon and Carol’s conversation he finally entered Adira's hospital room. Maxon's heart aches when he saw his sugar, laying in the middle of the hospital bed— pale and with oxygen.

Dahan-dahan siyang lumapit sa kinaroroonan ni Adira habang nakatiim bagang at nagmumula ang mga mata.

His sugar looks so pitiful right now at ang kalagayan nito ay kagagawan ng tatlong taong iyon. He regret entertaining Sky, pati tuloy si Adira ay nadamay sa kabaliwan nitong taglay at mukhang tama nga rin siya ng hinala. Magkakilala si Sky at si Adira.

Maxon lean a little bit closer to Adira and plant a soft kiss on Adira's forehead before uttering a word.

"I promise that they're going to pay what they did to you, sugar. Magpahinga't magpagaling ka lang dahil pagmagaling ka na, ako naman ang magpapahinga. Ikaw ang tanging pahinga ko sa magulong mundong ito, Adira. I missed you so bad and it hurts,"

Maxon once again kissed Adira’s forehead before leaving the hospital. He called his private investigator's and other people that can help him to destroy those useless people, especially Sky and the asshole claiming his sugar to be his—Hiro. He also called a bunch of demolition team because he's going to destroy every single house in his private property today at wala siyang pakialam kung may magalit man. They’re useless peace of shits, after all.

Hindi naman siya magagalit ng ganito kung hindi nila ginalaw si Adira. Pinasundo niya na rin sa kaniyang personal driver si Aling Elena and he made her stay to his hotel for free. Aling Elena will be his mother-in-law someday kaya kailangan niyang magpagood shot even though may tension between the two.

"It's payback time," nakangising saad ni Maxon habang pinapaikot ang ballpen sa pagitan ng kaniyang mga daliri.

His phone keeps on ringing but he didn't mind it at all dahil paniguradong si Sky lamang iyon at nagmamaka-awa ng husto. Napuno rin ng sigawan ang labas ng kaniyang mansyon at iyon naman ay nagmumula sa mga taong nakatira sa kaniyang villa. Nagmamakaawa ang mga ito but sad to say it's too late for forgiveness, buo na ang kaniyang desisyon and every words that comes out on his mouth is absolute at hindi na iyon magbabago pa.

"Silence them or I'll silence you," pagbabanta ni Maxon sa police officer na nasa kaniyang harapan.

"Yes Sir," tugon ng police at mabilis na nagtungo sa labas ng mansyon.

The demolition went smooth and so as destroying Sky’s life and family. At syempre hindi niya nakakalimutan si Hiro, he hired some men to silence that crap and he even ordered to throw Hiro out of the county for his peace of mind and so as Raven--the other guy that Sky mentioned during the fight.

Two days Adira later finally wakes up from here deep slumber and Maxine couldn't help but to smile as he saw his sugar open her beautiful eyes.

"Good morning, sugar." Maxon greeted while smiling sweetly na akala mo’y walang nangyari.

“M-Maxon…” Adira said with trembling lips.

Maxon reach for Adira’s hand and he kisses it’s back sofetly and said, “How are you feeling? Do you need anything?”

“W-water…” tugon ni Adira at mabilis naman sa alas kwatrong ibinigay ito ni Maxon.

Maxon stared Adira lovingly as she drinks the water that he gave. It’s so nice to see that her sugar is fully awake. Her pale skin is now back to normal and she looks so beautiful with her messy bed hair.

“Beautiful…” Maxon whispered.

“Where am I?” Adira ask after she finished drinking.

“In the hospital,” Maxon said.

“Since how long I’ve been here?” Adira ask again while avoiding Maxon’s gaze.

Maxon chuckled when he saw what Adira did and said,“Not that long, just one week.”

“C-can you please stop staring?” saad ni Adira na ngayon ay nakatingin na rin kay Maxon.

“Why would I? I missed staring at you like this. I missed seeing your beautiful face, your eyes, nose, lips and so as hearing your voice.”

Adira’s cheeks turns red because of what Maxon said. Her heart is racing so bad and she can also feel familiar sensation inside of her stomach everytime Maxon compliments or stare at her and she knows that it’s not because of her disease.

“S-top it!” Adira said while stuttering making Maxon laugh loudly.

Maxon’s laugh echoes around the four corners of the room and Adira couldn't help but to stare at Maxon’s face. She missed him so much and her heart feel at ease when she’s this near to him. Her heart is happy and so as her.

Maxon stops on laughing and said,“You’re so adorable Adira. I can’t imagine my self living without you.”

“Maxon…”

“Tell me the truth Adira. I’m patiently waiting about your reason and so as making you my wife,” Maxon said seriously.

Adira hissed and avoid Maxon’s gaze and said, “Stop joking Maxon. I will answer you now tutal utang ko naman sa’yo ang buhay ko. I have an ovarian cyst that’s why hapit ako sa pera at umagree ako sa bet ni Sky. Hindi ako nagsisisi na nakilala at nakasama kita. Ang tanging pinagsisisihan ko lang ay ang nagpagamit ako sa iba bago pa man kita makilala. I like you Maxon, but I know that It will never work for us. You deserve someone better and that’s not me. Someone that is pure and on your level. Kahit saang angulo mo kasi tingnan ay para lamang akong basahan--madumi at nagamit na ng iba habang ikaw naman ay isang dyamante na kinahuhumalingan ng karamihan.”

Habang sinasabi niya ang mga katagang iyon ay lumuluha siya. Being slap with reality is so painful, mas masakit pa sa sampal atsabunot na iginawad sa kaniya ng walanghiyang si Sky. Siya ay napahinto sa pag-iyak ng angkinin ni Maxon ang kaniyang labi. Isa iyong magaan at banayad na paghalik na nag-alis ng kaniyang mga pagdududa’t iniisip. One kiss from Maxon can make her forget about everything.

Bahagyang lumayo si Maxon sa kaniya at marahang pinunasan ang kaniyang pisnging may bakas pa ng luha at sinabing, “I already knew that, and I like you too, Adira.”
