Chapter 589 Chapter 589

Chapter 589 Chapter 589
Griffin leaned over and inhaled Blaise’s scent right beside her ear. She smirked but leaned away from him.

“Work.”

“You smell different, still sweet and spicy, but the floral is not the same…”

“That’s you.” She turned and looked at him, then got up and went over and jerked the curtain closed, “we don’t need anyone seeing what we’re watching.”

Griffin shook his head, “I don’t think the squirrels will care.” He pointed to the other window that had a view of the mountains. “We’re in the middle of nowhere.”

Blaise grabbed a water bottle and shrugged, “I’m taking no chances.” She opened it and jerked her chin toward the screen, “how much time is left.”

“Ten minutes if they’re on time.”

Blaise sat down, “they’ll be on time.” She smirked, “too bad it’s only ten minutes,” she looked at the bed, “there’s not enough time.”

Griffin looked at the bedroom door and then at the screen again, “after.”

Her phone buzzed. She looked at it and then did something on the keyboard. The screen went live, and instead of blank space, there were people on it, moving along a building quietly.

“Showtime. The team Noah is on is the first breach.” Blaise sounded hyped.  She pointed to a key. “If you need to tell them anything, push that.”

Griffin leaned closer to the screen as they went inside the building. He wasn’t sure if their mics were muted or if they moved that quietly. Whoever had the camera on went through a doorway. The room was darkened, but he watched as a man was approached. He looked like he froze where he stood; if armed people snuck up on him, he’d probably be no better. The man looked left and then right. Griffin held his breath.

Lights were turned on, and one of the teams appeared beside the man. Griffin leaned closer and glared at the screen, he hurried to press the button, “Noah, it’s Al.”

“Where?” There was no mistaking Noah’s growl into the comm.

“With, uh,” he glanced at Blaise.

“York,” she supplied.

“He’s with York in the kitchen.”

There was a crashing sound, and then someone was in front of York, blocking the view of Al.

“Who’s Al?” Blaise whispered.

Griffin moved his hand from near the button but didn’t look away from the screen, “he’s the one that whipped Noah.”

“Oh.” She leaned closer and took his hand; he felt better for it.

Seeing Al and knowing where they were brought back many memories he didn’t ever want to think about again.

“Son, you will control yourself right now. Get him under control, Calum.” Raymond barked into the call.

Griffin stared at the screen and watched Calum and Blair peel Noah off the other man. They continued to hold him when Raymond’s voice came over the call again.

“York, give me a clear view of Al.”

York moved, so his camera wasn’t blocked by the two men working hard to contain his friend.

“That is Allen Dunlap, the Global Coordinator for the Alliance,” Raymond stated with venom in his voice. “He has worked for the Alliance for fifteen years.”

“Holy shit.”

Griffin turned and looked at Blaise; the shock was clear on her face.

“He’s from Shepard Addison’s clan, and he’s been working for the Tomas family.”

The seriousness of who they had just gotten hit Griffin, “he whipped Noah.” He whispered. He needed to ask why his picture hadn’t been in the ones he’d looked through. The Alliance needed to share all of them with him, even the ones that had been with them a long time.

“Noah, son, I know your story and understand your drive to end Allen’s existence, but we need him for now. I need him in a cage in front of me to find out who else betrayed us.”

There was a growl over the mic.

“You can have him after, Noah; I’ll make sure of it,” Griffin recognized Blair’s voice. “You had my back with Lindon, I’ll make sure you get retribution.”

“As will I,” Raymond added, “but we need him breathing right now.”

Griffin watched Noah shake off Blair and Calum and back away. He could see the hatred on his face as he turned and looked at Al, but he still found the control to turn away and leave the room. He didn’t think he could have done that if it had been Griffin.

“Graham, you escort Allen to HQ, I want him paraded in wearing chains for all to see.”

“Will do, boss.”

“York, get us a view of the others.” Wynter’s voice was loud through the earbud.

“On it,” York replied.

Griffin leaned back, he wanted to throw up or crush something, the inclination for both was strong. He continued to sit there because he needed to see the other faces.

“I can’t believe he’s part of the king’s clan,” Blaise whispered and then was behind him, wrapping her arms around him. “And because of you, we got him.”

Griffin leaned back, so their cheeks were touching, “we have to get every last one of them, Blaise.”

“We will.”

He watched the faces as York stopped in front of each one momentarily. “Yes, we will,” he whispered. He wasn’t going anywhere, if he had to devote the rest of his days to traveling the world and searching for faces that haunted his every thought, he would do it.    With his mate beside him, he felt like he could accomplish anything.

“Okay, people, the next breach will live in thirty seconds. Mister Griffin, you keep your eyes on that screen.” Illias said, “you are our secret weapon, and it’s feeling like the tides have finally turned.”

There were a few agreements over the comms, and Griffin closed his eyes for a moment. It may have taken thirty years, but he’d finally found his people. He didn’t expect everyone to accept him, but even if a few did, it was better than it had ever been. He pressed the button, “you good, Noah?” He didn’t care if he wasn’t supposed to do that, he needed to check on his friend.

“Yeah.” Noah finally replied. “Maybe we’ll get Mylar tonight too.”

Griffin nodded, “save him for me.”

“Will do, Griffin.”

“We need to keep comms clear, people.”

Griffin wasn’t certain, but he thought that was Nox’s voice. He leaned forward to apologize for breaking their protocol, but Blaise hit the key before him.

“Ten seconds before the next breach, and FYI, Griffin is my mate, so if anyone has a problem with that or him, they can tell my fist.”

Griffin grinned and looked at her. She looked so fierce. He pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her.

“Duly noted,” there was no mistaking Calum’s amused voice over the speaker.

“Going live now,” Illias informed everyone.

Both of them turned to look at the monitor. Blaise’s phone buzzed again.

“The King wants us to go somewhere after this.”

Griffin looked at her phone at the time, “tonight?”

“Yeah.”

“Must be important.” He kissed her cheek, “we can take turns driving.”

Blaise leaned back and smirked at him, “nice try.”

“And team two is live.” Came from the speaker and made them both turn to look at the screen again.

“Because of you, we’re going to get them all, Griff.” She whispered and sat forward to watch what the camera was showing.

“Because of us.” He whispered back.
