Chapter 22

VANESSA

As these months have passed, it's been really quiet. No rogue issues, and the pack has been happier. Alec and I avoid each other at all cost. We can't be in the same room alone, or we just argue and argue. Ever since he was demoted, he's been a bigger pain trying to prove he is worth it again. Trials have been non-stop, but so far, my father says none of them are up there. He loves Blake, but he doesn't think he is strong enough. I've grown accustomed to this new time. I learned how to use a cell phone, and a computer. I have a Facebook now, and my selfies are on fire.

We expected attacks to be happening, but really everything was okay. Too okay. Drew has finally turned 13. You probably are wondering why he aged so fast, and the answer to that is I don't fucking know! It may have to do with the fact that he came out a wolf first. I really hated how quiet it was. That as soon as our guard is down the warlock would come. I've changed in all honesty. I've been going to areas of humans and taking some classes in order to learn about my own history, but myths about the supernatural.

"Hey can we talk?" I looked over and saw Alec coming over to sit in the outside chair swing thingy.

"Have a seat, what's up?" He looked over and just laughed at me.

"You're really picking up a lot of slang, and honestly I like this side of you." He looks over and flashes that smile that I love the most.

"I want to be part of this new world, there's nothing wrong with advancing. What can I do for you?" I turned to my side looking at him.

"I want to call a truce. I think you and I have been fighting long enough. I was angry and jealous. Now I just want to be happy, and the only way I know is to make sure you are. So, we both can move on" I smiled at him, as he looks more at peace.

"I'd like that honestly; I hate arguing with you all the time. I am not mad at you anymore." He laid his head on the swing head.

"I know why you made the choice of demoting me, and I respect it. However, I am a strong warrior, I was hoping you'd allow me to be the one who trains Drew. I watch when you're with him, and he holds back because you're his mom. I want to be useful, and this is something that I can do." If this were the person, I knew all those months ago, it would be so easy to be with him. He was grown, and mature. I placed my hand on his cheek and caressed it, as I am proud, he's grown so much. But he is a strong fighter, and I trust him with my son.

"Oh Alec, I'd like nothing more. You can start tonight, as I have him on a schedule. I want him to get better at fighting at night, where everything is black and white. That means I can go into the city and see a movie." His smile extended more. He probably didn't think that this could be me after all these times.

"Alright, well thank you for speaking to me my queen" He stood up to walk away.

"Alec, no formalities. I am not angry with you anymore. We are friends." I smiled at him and returned it back before headed to go pick up Drew. I got him into a school so he can learn the human world. He is in public school with a lot of normal kids. Father says it keeps children grounded, and smart. He enjoys it so I am happy he is happy. I've taken a lot of time for myself; I mean a lot. I have a planner that Xaide has given me. It keeps track of my appointments and gives me time to cool off.

"Vanessa, The British, Australian, Arctic, Mexican Packs are arriving tonight for the festival. The Alpha's are expecting a meeting with the queen" My dad mind-linked me.

'Father, they all need to be blood tested. So of course, the meeting is a go. But for small talk, I got a movie to catch"

"You know a lot of them are going to approach for a chance to be your king" He said, "Find me one worthy and want to take me on a date to a movie." He was laughing. I knew he was.

I found myself walking the streets of Colorado Springs. I had some drinks at the Red Parrot, saw a movie. You know back then all we had was the outdoors, but I have been taking this all for granted. Everyone was lucky. I was headed back, exiting the bar when I slammed into something hard. Well someone.

"Excuse me miss, I wasn't paying attention" I looked up to him as he rose above me a foot. Well this could be the perfect distraction.

"It was my fault, Qu—Valerie." He reached his hand out for me to shake it. I did just that. I hated when someone knew I was the queen. They either get awkward or try too hard. I've not been touched since Alias passed away; I've been too focused on my son.

"Asher." I knew I could smell the power on him.

"Listen Asher, I need a distraction. Magazines tell me men like when women are upfront. So, would you like to be my distraction?" He looked at me surprised. I am guessing he wasn't expecting for me to be so honest. I knew he was a wolf; humans just weren't for me. They didn't have the stamina of a wolf.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Your place or mine?" I thought to myself.

"Mine, m—the pack that I am in is just a few miles out?" He started walking, and I followed him. He opened up his car, and allowed me in. We sat in silence as I gave him directions. I knew I couldn't take him back to my palace, so I took him into a suite that can probably pass it off. We went in through the back, as no one can know that I am here. These "one-night stands" Are just my thing. No feelings attached.

As soon as we got into the room, there was no awkward silence. He grabbed the back of my hair and yanked me to his lips. He was the dominant one, thank freaking gods. I licked the bottom of his lips, and he parted his tongue intertwined with each other’s. It was rough, and full of so much lust and frustration. He trailed down my back, and grabbed my bottom lifting me up against the wall. I turned his head to the side and used my fangs that were sharper than the wolf to cut through his neck, and that caused him to moan. I reached for his shirt and nearly ripped it from his chest. I looked down at his sun kissed skin, where I noticed a deep scar was once there.

He took me out of my thoughts, and pulled my shirt from over my head, allowing my braless boobs to flump out. He moved me over to the bed and started kissing down my chest taking one of my breasts in his mouth. He aggressively bit down on my nipple, causing a warm sensation to my mid core. I reached down and felt his erection through his pants, and boy was he hard.

I had quickly unbuttoned his pants and was sliding it down. He paused for a second as he stood up to fully remove them plus his undergarments. I bit my lip watching as it was aching for me. He bent down to unbutton my pants and slid my thongs down with him. He attached his lips back to mine, as his finger reached my sweet spot. He moved up and down none stop. "Someone is impatient." He laughed.

It didn't end there, we kept going until 4 in the morning. It was the best night of my entire new age experience. We both fell asleep, but at 7 I woke up before him. Slightly cleaning myself off and slipping my clothes on. I tiptoed to the door, as I looked at him one more time wishing it weren’t just one time. I closed the door lightly As I walked to my palace, I finally let out a breath. This was well needed. Best experience I probably will ever have, as I am a mom and I don't get much alone time. I walked through the woods and got to the walkway of mine.

"Someone is doing the walk of shame." I turned around and saw Xaide standing out in her work out uniform.

"Shh. Someone will hear you." I laughed.

"God, I can smell the shame off you. How was your first one-night stand?" She asked.

"First what?" Alec walked up next to her, also in work out places. Oh, right training time forgot. Alec looks at me and inspects me.

"Miss perfect just had a one-night stand, look at her doing the walk of shame" I felt my cheeks burning, as I feel so embarrassed.

"Xaide, I will reach in and take your voice box out. If you don't shut your mouth" She just laughed. And then I saw Alec laughing.

"God you can smell it from a mile away Vanessa. Go shower." But this time I didn't see any jealousy when that came out. Maybe we can just be friends.

"Where is drew?" I asked him.

"He is with your dad; I took him there when you weren't home. And now I know why, you were sinning away" He joked. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Oh, I have a family that's coming, and they want to meet you. Told them I had it in with the queen. You think you can give them a few minutes?" He asked.

"Yeah that's fine, I need a shower." I smelled myself and just huffed.

"Or 3" I joked.

I hopped in the shower and soaked there for a long time. Before I got ready for the day. As soon as I got ready, I headed outside to see Drew running towards me. I scooped him in my arms.

"Mommy, I missed you. Where were you?" I hated lying to him, but there are some things he didn't need to know.

"I went out for a run, and lost track of time." Alec popped up.

"Oh, she lost track of a lot of time" He laughed as I hit him on his arm. He had 3 people standing behind him.

"My Queen, this is Elder Alpha Christian and Elder Luna Casey of the Blood Moon pack in Italy. They are basically family." They both had bowed to me.

"My Queen, it is lovely to meet you, we admire you back home. This is my youngest daughter Ella; she happens to be a huge fan of yours. She likes the idea of a girl being in charge." The little girl had walked up to me and bowed.

"Mommy says if I work hard, and kick my big brothers butt I can be in charge My Queen" I bent down to her as she looked so cute.

"Ella call me Vanessa, and you know beating your brother isn't about strength it's about knowledge remember that." She quickly ran to me and hugged me. I returned it back. I loved that I was an icon to young girls, it filled my heart that we wanted to be equal.

"My Queen, this is my oldest son and the current Alpha; Asher." I stood up, and made eye contact and my cheeks flushed red.

"My Queen, it is nice to meet you." He looked at me sternly, and then a smirk came about his face. Oh lord, it had to be him.

"Hello Alpha, Vanessa will do." He reached over to my hand and kissed it. Great, this isn't embarrassing at all. Alec and everyone seemed pretty aware of what was happening, as I am getting flustered.

"Well I need to take my son for his appointment—" I began to say but was interrupted.

"I don't have an appointment mom, I just got home since you lost track of time last night" I didn't even bother to say anything. I grabbed his hand and just turned away quickly. Oh, my son would do this to me. I heard Asher's laugh as I walked away. This is going to be fun.
