Chapter 59!

Elise POV:

I don’t know how much time has passed but everyday its a new torture. He never lets me rest. My body is in so much pain. I want to let go but he says it’s not time yet.

My dreams are filled with flowers and Ezra always seems to be lurking in there. I can hear his voice. He calls out to me but he’s too far away.

My body instantly fills with a burning sensation when I hear footsteps coming closer to me.

“Little faerie, you’re awake,” a female voice says. She chuckles as the burning becomes intense. I scream out in pain. I feel like I’m on fire. “Keep screaming, little faerie. It only fuels my need to continue.”

“Please,” I beg. My body curls in on itself. “Please stop.”

She gets closer, her hand trails up my arm. Her nails are digging into my skin. But her torturing me is nothing compared to Kage. He’s a psychopath.

“We haven’t formally met, little faerie. I’ve been waiting so long to meet you. You’re so much prettier in person but that's too bad because you won’t get to live long. I’m Braylyn, one of your worst nightmares for the weeks to come,” she says chuckling darkly. “I would have come down sooner but I was letting Kage have his fun with you.”

Her nails trail up the rest of my arm, up my neck and across my jaw. She’s not exactly gentle either. She yanks my face to look up at her.

There seems to be more light down here with her here. Her hair wild red curls, green eyes and a look that should have been able to kill me.

“I’m going to treat you. We’re going to get you cleaned up and get you some fresh air before the fun begins this afternoon,” she says, a wicked smile spreads across her cheeks.

The burning fizzles out. A bit of strength seems to flow into me. She must be doing this. She helps me stand.

“Gosh, you stink. The dried blood smells so gross on you,” she makes a face and turns her head away from me. I go to take a wobbly step but then stop when I feel my wounds reopen. “Don’t stop now. Who cares if you are bleeding? Because I sure as hell don’t.”

She pushes me forward. I hit my hip against something. I try my best to not make a sound. She leads me down a narrow hallway and up some stairs. My body aches the more I walk.

When we reach a door she waves her hand and it opens. The light behind the door blinds my eyes. She leads me down another hallway. Then shoves me into a room. It has a bath in the corner. Two other ladies prepare things in the room.

“The water is ready,” one of them tells Braylyn.

Braylyn grabs hold of my arm roughly. She pulls me to the center of the room.

“Take your clothes off,” she demands. I hesitate at first but when she slaps me across the face, I quickly rush to shed out of my clothes. I try to cover up as much of my body as I can. All three of them circle around me. “Get in the tub.”

I do as I’m told. The water is freezing cold but soothing on my wounds. Now that I can see my body with more light, I can see how bruised I am. Braylyn stands back as the other two help me get washed. The water turns a deep red color within minutes.

“Nasty,” I hear Braylyn say. I try not to look at the faces of disgust she keeps giving me.

Once I’m cleaned up they roughly pull me out of the tub. They shove my body into a tight fitting white dress. It shows off much more skin than I would be comfortable.

They take me out of the bathroom and back down the hallway. They take me to an empty room with gray walls. Braylyn pushes me in. I fall to the floor.

“I’ll be back,” she says then slams the door shut. There are no windows in this room. It has a sweet smell to it.

I wait for what feels like hours before anyone returns. This time Braylyn isn’t alone, Kage stands behind her. The sadistic smile he gives me sends shivers down my spine. I need to find a way to get out of here.

“Little faerie,” Braylyn teases coming closer to me. “Let’s get you some fresh air.”

She reaches down and smears what looks like ash across my face. Then she takes hold of my arm and yanks me up. I get a bad feeling about what is about to happen.

I start shaking my head and struggling against her pulling me towards the door. Kage looks irritated. He steps into the room and rushes to me. When his hand connects to my face, tears spring to my eyes. The pain radiates along my temple.

“Give us a hard time and I’ll make sure you can’t walk,” he threatens. “Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes,” I stuttered out. Kage pats my head before stepping to the side. He motions for us to go forward. This time I don’t hesitate at all.

I know it won’t be anything good but I can’t stay back and take the hits anymore. If I’m outside maybe there is a way to escape.
