Finding Minerva

We left the dining hall; Damien grabbed my hand. I steeled myself to face the man who ruined my life. A man who was broken and torn apart inside. A man who I have no choice but to admit is my father. Damien turned to me with fierce love and protection echoing in his eyes.

“Are you ready?” he asked me. I had no idea if I would ever be ready to face him again but, I had to be strong. I nodded and could not speak. I feared that my voice would come out as a squeak. I grabbed Verona’s hand. I was really wishing that Minerva was here as well. Suddenly I got an idea.

“What if we delay this meeting?”

“Why?” Verona asked me.

“Minerva” I told her. She looked at me confused then with fear on her face. Damien was looking at me dubiously.

*What are you thinking about? * he asked in my mind.

“I was just thinking, he might have an easier time believing everything if he sees us twins united.”

“Do you think it will work?” she asks me.

“Think about it, the last time he saw you, you were getting married to that monster.” I realized I said the wrong thing. Never verbally attack a mated wolf. Verona snarled at me then struck me hard across the face. Damien snarled back at her.

“You do not dare, insult an Alpha! He is my chosen mate!” she shrieked at me. I looked at Damien, he straightened himself and gave me a disappointed look.

“What?”

“As a mated wolf yourself, you should know better, doesn’t matter if her mate is a spineless, dickless Alpha that is a sack of money shit who should be castrated along with his son, you don’t insult him.” he smirked. Verona was staring at him in agitation yet, she refrained herself. He knew as she did, he could say whatever he wanted, and being Alpha, she couldn’t attack him. He was more powerful.

“As I was saying, we need Minerva last time he saw all of us, we were very young, and you were getting married. He thinks we’re dead. Imagine, living these last eighteen years believing that all of your children were killed by the Luthor’s.”

I told them. I could see them thinking about it.

“I finally understand why he went bezerk and never went back to fight.”

“Go on” Damien said.

“He’s broken, his heart at the loss of his entire family has been ripped out, he feels there’s no hope left in him to ever go back. I mean for all he knows everyone was slaughtered at your wedding, you included!” I told them exasperated throwing my hands in the air. They realized what I was saying. I could see understand lighting their faces.

“We need Minerva” I told them with finality.

“How do we get her? What if she’s back in the pack?” Verona asked.

“I can go” he told me.

“Damien no!” I snarled in fear.

“They don’t know me, she doesn’t know me. I can seduce her if she’s anything like you. I’m not saying I am okay with the idea. But, I can use a portal and get her here.”

“It should be me!”

“You and Verona are on their hitlist! I am not putting you in danger!”

“What happens if you see Travis!”

“I will kick some sense into him! I am of a kings bloodline myself; we were known to be warriors. I claimed you first! He’s sloppy seconds that you should have rejected! You’re mine!” He said with a bitter tone as he kissed me on the forehead.

I know what he was saying, and I have told him before that it wasn’t entirely my fault. My wolf reacted when he was about to reject us. She panicked and claimed him. Why I do not know! I agree with Damien, we should have rejected him. Just that thought and comment had my wolf snarling at me. I try to ignore her possessive attitude, I understand what the moon goddess told us but, I am struggling to see any way he can be redeemed. The moment he was going to kill his mother, is when I lost hope for him.

“Damien, I am so sorry, that I challenged your bond. I can see how much you love her, and she loves you. I wish I had that” she said with sorrow in her voice.

“Verona, reject Lucius! It will make him burn, if he is shagging another dumb bitch, trust me he will feel it! he’ll writhe in agony, and he will never be able to touch you again.” I pressed her to do the right thing for her sake and Devin’s.

“I don’t want to be alone! I don’t want him to find me and kill me”

“You won’t be alone, you have Devin, you’ll soon have your father, Luna Raven, and this entire pack. We’re family, we’ll protect you.” Damien told her. She smiled and nodded her head.

“Do it, after we get Minerva” I told her as I walked away.

“After Minerva”

“Kayla, I have an idea, I will take an idea, how about I take Verona in to see your father for a moment” we looked over and it was Luna Raven. I bowed to her in respect.

“What is it mom?” Damien asked her.

“I regret to say that I have not seen Carter in several years. I am his wife’s twin. We look nearly identical except for our eye and hair color. If he doesn’t remember me, there is no hope. I will jar his mind to remember his wife, and hopefully his daughter. You my son will go find Minerva, I agree with you, Kayla cannot go it is too dangerous. Kayla you come with me but, stay in the shadows.” I nodded my head. I gave Damien a kiss before he left and I followed my aunt into the dungeons.
