CHAPTER 23
BLAIR POINT OF VIEW
Ronan doesn't take no for an answer. He's never been the person to ever back down.
I know he won't leave me if I don't give him an answer.
Both options are quite tight for me.
My name is Blair Knowles. I get big boxes of gifts from most of my clients whom I'd helped win their cases when all hope is lost. And in these boxes are mostly designer outfits and shoes. Most fashion brands also try to send me their new designs for each launch so they can buy my favor and Dominus's to either sponsor or support their brands.
So I have hundreds of them untouched. Buying new ones would be a total waste of money, and I'm not a fan of that.
Daddy taught me to always make proper management, even if I have more than enough.
And then having Ronan following me back to the pack house—what are the odds that he doesn't try to throw his fists and then get arrested?
Ronan is not like his brother Darius. Ronan is a wild wolf. He acts before he thinks.
He doesn't understand diplomacy. All he understands is violence.
The pack house is not a place where breeds like him should go.
And taking me there might result in a long-lasting scandal for the media to spin.
Dominus is the one who's flaunting his mate, but one misstep from me, and then watch the media tear me apart for weeks with no benefit of the doubt.
“Too much thinking already,” he hissed and turned on the shower again, joining me in. “Just let me buy you whatever you have in your wardrobe. They can take the old ones.”
“Fine, I will let you go with me,” I murmured, and I noticed his grin.
It's hard not to notice it with the way he smiles.
Moments later, we were done bathing, and I quickly dressed up while Ronan wore his clothes. In a matter of minutes, I called my driver, and we headed downstairs and settled into the vehicle.
Inside the car, I made sure to avoid eye contact with Ronan, even if it was so hard to do so.
I didn't want my driver to get the wrong perception or spread rumors.
Well, rumors of me seeing Ronan won't do much damage, like rumors of me seeing Darius would do.
But either way, anyone of them is giving Dominus some sympathy votes.
That bastard would spin it all and make himself the victim of infidelity just so everyone can throw in their support behind him.
I sat at the edge of the seat close to the window, my eyes fixed outside all through the journey.
A few moments later, we arrived, and I quickly stepped back with Ronan hot on my back.
Turning to him, I begged, “Please stop here. You can go in with me, please. I promise I will be fine.”
His jaw tightened as rage surged to his throat, and he only shook his head.
That was a hard one to agree to, but I'm glad he did.
Dominus might not explicitly know him, but I know he'd actually be stupid if he sees me with another man he doesn't know.
With his agents at his beck and call, I'm sure he'd get Ronan's identity in an average of five minutes.
Walking inside, I put on a smile; that wasn't hard to come by after I just had the best sex of my life.
I made my way straight to our matrimonial room. Thankfully, when I got there, it was just Dominus inside.
He was laid butt naked on the bed, but his mate was nowhere to be found. I'm a little glad she isn't there because I don't want to see her face right now.
“What are you here for?” Dominus sat up once he saw me walk in.
“Last I checked, this is my home,” I responded, going to my wardrobe.
“Shit…sorry…sorry,” he chuckled, hoping it was amusing, but it wasn't. “I wanted to ask, where have you been?”
“Work,” I simply said and opened the wardrobe, but nothing was there.
I paused, my eyes darting through the wardrobe, but it was empty.
“What are you looking for?” Dominus asked, standing up from the bed and pulling the mattress along to cover himself.
“Where are my clothes?” I turned to him, a little furious and confused.
“It was moved to the other room,” he explained. “You know we would be using the room for the campaign videos and others; she'll move in here with me. You can stay in the other room till the elections are over.”
My throat went paper dry, and I wanted to snap. Of course, to crash out, but I chose not to.
I'm now a stranger in my own matrimonial home.
I looked up at him and forced the faintest smile. “Okay.”
With that, I quickly walked out and went over to the room, with Dominus still following me.
“I heard you went to your pack. What for?”
“My father was sick,” I lied. “I went to see him. Do you have a problem with that?”
“Of course not. I was just a little curious and worried why you went there so impromptu. You never told me.”
I looked around the room and quietly went for the first two boxes. They had designers I had never touched or worn in my entire life.
I lifted them and dragged them, letting the tires wheel them forward.
Dominus's eyes went wide with surprise, and he asked, “Where are you taking your boxes to?”
“Work.”
“Work?” His voice rose to snap slowly, fading into disbelief. “What do you mean by work? What type of work requires you to take two full boxes of clothes?”
“The kind where I have to reach there, stay with my client, and lecture them on what to do and what not to do,” I said firmly.
Dominus's eyes darted across the two boxes; his lips parted, but no word escaped from them.
“So when will you be back?”
“Soon.” I dragged the box with me, and he just watched me leave.
In a few minutes, I was out; the agents had helped me carry my bag to the car.
At first, I didn't see Ronan, and my heart sank. I hoped he hasn't tried to come on and get arrested.
Looking around, I finally saw him huddled in a corner, puffing a smoke.
