Chapter 32

Derek

As soon as I saw the circulating sex tape of Roxanne and me on the internet, I knew it had everything to do with Diana. She was the only one that could have done this. Not only did she have the motive, but she also was the only person that was close enough to get her hands on the video. She had the resources and the means.

And honestly, it looked exactly like the kind of thing that Diana would do. I wouldn't put it past her in a hurry. Though I was surprised that she would go this far to prove her point, I'm a little glad she did what she did. Now, everyone would know that Roxanne belonged to only me.

A smile drew up on my face as the thought came to my mind. I had already brought the car near the house and I was approaching the narrow road that led to the gate. It was a beautiful evening. Light from the sunset shone over the array of flowers that lined the road.

I was aware that the peace and quiet that accompanied the scenery before me would soon be contrasted with Diana's antics as soon as I entered the house. I paused for a brief moment to take in the beautiful view for the last time before I proceeded.

"Welcome, love." Diana's voice emerged from the house as I stepped in. She came up to me with a smile. Even though she was objectively beautiful, I'd never felt anything toward her. Certainly not the way I felt towards Roxanne. Since I had been in a relationship with Roxanne, I had stopped having the occasional sex that we had with Diana. I knew it contributed to her bitterness towards Roxanne.

Diana moved closer and gave a look of triumph. The look confirmed what I already knew, she was the one who released the video, and she thought she'd won her little game by doing so.

"Diana, you're way over your head," I told her.

"What do you mean, my love?" She kept smiling as she ran her palm on my chest.

"You don't need to pretend. I know you were the one that sent out the video. I don't know how you got it but you're the only one that could have gotten the video off my computer."

"Well…" Diana said, with a smirk.

"Guess what Diana? It changes nothing. You would only have yourself to blame for what you've just done. We could watch the tape together if you wanted and I could even arrange a live performance for you if that would be better."

Diana folded into a sulk. She never liked when I spoke to her like that and that was why I was doing so. If she thought she could just destroy what I had with Roxanne with a video, then she didn't know anything at all.

"Yes. I sent it out," she finally admitted. "And rightly so. How could you have a relationship with someone else while you're married to me? I'm your wife, Derek, and I demand some respect!" Diana was now fuming with anger but I wasn't moved. There was absolutely nothing she could do.

"It seems you have forgotten so quickly," I said to her, "Our marriage isn't because we love each other or anything close to that. It was purely because of our families, so why do you keep making a big deal out of it? It's fake and we both know it, Diana. So just stop already!"

"Derek?!" she yelled.

I ignored her and continued.

"We never had feelings for each other. At least on my own part, and it is forever going to remain like that. You should let that sink in, Diana!" I said with anger.

Diana became pumped with rage after I spoke. Her eyes had changed into their werewolf colors. I realized before it was too late that she was going to transform. I stepped back away from her as she turned into her full werewolf self.

She got herself ready, as though she wanted to attack me. I did nothing and stayed put as I watched her. Even in her werewolf self, her eyes were filled with pain and frustration. I knew Diana had fallen in love with me over the years as our marriage went by and that would prevent her from attacking me.

We stared at each other for a long period. I almost pitied her as she fought back to restrain her werewolf self from launching toward me. But there was nothing I could do. And if we were being honest, Diana is no saint too.

As we stood staring, I began to realize that I would have to divorce her very soon. It would put an end to this sham of a marriage that we had. It was never meant to be and it will never be, no matter what tricks Diana had up her sleeve. Now that both our families had their places firm within the werewolf clans, there was really no need for us to continue. I could finally be with Roxanne.

A quick thought about Roxanne came to me. The sex tape must have met her in a bad way. She was only a student among other silly kids. It was a bad look on her in that community. I needed to go back to back to her before she did anything rash.

No longer than I saw the sex video of Roxanne and that werewolf circulating on the internet, I made my decision to go for him. If I killed him, it would put an end to so many things. I couldn't imagine that the girl I liked was there under another man being used like a whore.

My men had a little information about the man. I had ordered a check after that encounter back at the company. And now, I knew where his house was. As I got near the address, my anger became even more flamed up.

I knew I was being pushed by my affection for Roxanne. It was now clear that she was in a relationship with Derek Hemming and the relationship seemed to be an unusual one from what I'd gathered. What was more painful was the fact that it appeared that she was only using me as a companion in her spare time. Derek was whom she really was with. It was made evident by the sex tape.

The mysterious strands of wolf hair were no longer elements of mystery. I confirmed that it really belonged to Derek Hemming. But what I still wasn't sure about was whether Derek Hemming was responsible for the death of vampires from my clan. My investigation showed that Derek Hemming was indeed involved in more than he appeared to be but I wasn't entirely sure if he was responsible for the death of my people.

It didn't matter anymore, all was going to be resolved today when I finally saw the end of Derek Hemming. With quick vampire movements, I snuck into the compound. As I got near the main entrance, I heard yells from arguments coming from the house. I paused and observed for a while until it all went silent.

I slid into a mask and barged into the house. Derek Hemming was before me, he appeared to be leaving. With the advantage of surprise, I attacked him at his side. He fell to the floor, groaning with pain.
