Chapter 94

Chapter 94
Caleb's POV

The temperatures in the room suddenly shifts and Raphael materializes at the foot of my bed. His eyes lock onto Raven instantly, hungry and furious. His gaze flicks to me only briefly, dismissive, as if I’m just another obstacle between him and what he believes belongs to him.

“There you are,” he says softly. “You ran farther than I expected." Raven stiffens in my arms but I can't feel it's not fear but rage.

“She’s not going anywhere,” I growl, shifting so my body shields her, he just smiles dismissively.

“That’s where you’re wrong, Beta.” Arrogance filled in his tone. His hand snaps out, magic sparking as he reaches for Raven, fingers curling like claws toward her bare skin.

Raven lifts her head and her eyes meet his, and something ancient ignites between them.

“No,” she screams. I hear commotion outside, my brothers want to enter but Raphael and Raven powers cause some blockage.

Her scream is all it takes and the room detonates with force. Raphael is slammed backward like he hit an invisible wall, his body crashing into the stone opposite the bed hard enough that the structure groans. He hits the ground on one knee, gasping, disbelief flashing across his face.

I'm left dumbfounded, I've never seen her in action, it's so sexy and amazing. I want to hug her but I let her do her thing.

Raven rises from my arms slowly, she looks dangerous. Power coils tightly around her now, no longer wild or lashing out, but contained. I'm so glad she mustered the art of containment. I now fully understand why she went away, Tears of pride threaten to escape my eyes as I feel pain I wasn't there to see all her transformation. She has become stronger and even more beautiful, and her hair looks so amazing.

“You took my confusion for weakness,” she says, voice calm and lethal. “That was your second mistake.” She hisses, I stand behind her ready to counterattack if Raphael tries anything but by the look of things he's defeated.

Raphael laughs, strained, pushing himself upright. “You think you’ve won... ” He coughs and blood splashes from his mouth.

“I know I've put you in your place." She interrupts.

She takes a step forward, and the symbols carved into Raphael’s skin, flare violently. He screams and drops to the floor.

“You remember the circle you drew when you were taking my memories,” Raven continues quietly. “You remember the vow you swore when you handed me over to thise monsters.” Her eyes burn silver-blue. “Blood binds both ways.”

Raphael claws at his chest. “Raven... please... listen to me...” He coughs again.

“No,” she says firmly. The magic snaps tight like a noose. Raphael is dragged to his knees, gasping, his power buckling under its own weight. I feel it collapse inward, feeding back into him in violent pulses. His eyes finally meet mine and I say without hesitation. “End it." he's been a thorn in our relationship ever since I met Raven.

She doesn't listen to me though, instead, she steps closer and crouches in front of him, her voice dropping to something almost gentle.

“You don’t get to touch me again,” she says. “You don’t get to call for me. You don’t get anything.” She presses two fingers to his forehead and their connection severs. Raphael screams once, a sound of pure loss, before collapsing unconscious at her feet. Silence rushes back into the room and Raven turns to me. Her eyes gentle a sudden fear washing over her it's like she can't believe what she just did.

I pull her back into my arms and kiss her forehead.

“I couldn’t do it before,” she murmurs into my chest. “I didn’t know how.” she says.

“You know now,” I answer, holding her. The door bursts open and my brothers enter, and stand by my side.

"Whoa! that was quite a show Raven." Nashon says smiling.

"Mmmh you didn't even see a thing." She replies getting out of my embrace.

"Well, I could hear everything and I must say you were quite Impressive to be honest. We are glad you came back to this miserable being." He ushers to me and I frown. I'm just too happy to even argue, all I want is some alone time with Raven.

"We'll take care of this." Joshua points to Raphaels unconscious body. Two guards enter and drag him away.

"You mustn't sleep here tonight, follow me." Morris instructs. Quietly we follow him into his mansion and the Luna show us to a bed we can sleep in for the night.

My brothers through the link assure me that everything is being taken care of and I should take care of Raven instead.

"I'm glad you are here Raven, I still can't believe it." I say to her she just smiles and yawns.

"I need a shower." She says, I let her have one and after I take. I figure she needs her privacy and don't try to take it with her. I choose to give her time so she can adjust. After we shower, Morris sends us warm food, I feed her and let her sleep in my arms. I don't sleep a wink though, I'm afraid she might not be here when I open my eyes and I don't know how I'll survive if she ever left me again.

She is my life, my everything and I am never letting her go again. All I do the whole night is stealing glances at her , kissing her forehead, her lips and just lingering admiring her.

I link one of my brothers to arrange an apartment for us and furnish it, I neeed her to start afresh with me if she allows it, but I'm not going to push it, I'll go with her pace. I'm just glad she came back to me and I get to be happy by her side.

I love her.
