Chapter 60 - Suspicious

“Milano, I need your permission to visit Liam at this time. He needs to start his medicine from today.” Mary said,

“You can go and meet me Liam whenever you want.” Milano said,

“Thank you so much, that would be really great.” Mary went to her room leaving me and Milano alone in the corridor.

“Are you going to come with me or are you going back to Teddy's room?” He asked.

“Teddy will be up soon and I want to be with him. He has been a really good boy. I think you should spend some time with him too.” I said,

“You are right and I feel really guilty for not spending time with him. I promise I will spend my time with him whenever I can.” Milano promised.

I helped him walk to his room. Once he was inside the covers, I bent down and placed a kiss on his forehead.

“Sarah, I know it's not the right time to say this. Since the time I saw you, you can't even imagine how I wished to have you next to me. But it feels like it's going to take ages. I love you honey and I miss you so much.” He said,

“I love you too my dear. I wish I could stay with you but Teddy needs me more than you. Everything will be back to normal very soon. Now take a rest. I'll meet you in the morning.” I said and went to Teddy's room. He was still asleep and so I got next to him and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Next day I woke up really late and Teddy was not there. I checked the whole room and he was not there. I quickly did my morning routine and went out to check where he was. On the way, I met Pamila and she told me that Teddy is with Milano in his room. So, I went straight to the kitchen. I just want to make something for my son. Chef Charlie and others are already making breakfast. I joined them and made some pancakes for Teddy.

Everyone was looking at me strangely. I wondered what they were thinking. That's when I remembered my new talent of mind reading. I concentrated on one of the maids and she was thinking.

“Why do I get the smell of a werewolf from him?”

I checked everyones thoughts and they all were wondering about the same. I think it's time to tell them but I shouldn't do it without consulting Milano. With that thought, I retrieved it from the kitchen and went to Milano's room. Teddy was still there and he was playing some board games with Milano. He jumped up as soon as he saw me.

“Careful my dear, daddy is not well.”

“Mama, come and play with us.” Teddy said excitedly. I didn't want to disappoint him and so joined them to play. After some time, we heard a knock at the door. I opened it to find a maid.

“Mr Buchanan is here and he wants to meet you.”

“Tell him to wait, we will be there in a few minutes.” I said,

“But, he wants to meet you alone.” She informed me.

“Okay, you may go.”

I thought of telling Milano about Mr Buchanan, but then canceled the thought. I have to meet him alone.

“Milano, I will go and bring breakfast. We will all have our breakfast here.” I said,

“If you want, I can come down.” He said,

“No, I would say to take a rest. I know you don't have much pain but your fracture is still there and if you walk too often, it might affect your healing process.” I said before leaving.

Mr Buchanan was waiting in the living room. He stood up as soon as he saw me.

“Your highness, I am here to take you back to your kingdom.”

I think I should read his mind. With that thought I tried to hear his thoughts. But it was like he was not thinking of anything. Is he really a strong werewolf that is blocking his thoughts from me? I have to give him an answer but I don't know what. He might be thinking that I would accept his son but little do he know that I am already marked.

“Mr Buchanan, I would love to see everyone but today is not the right time. I will call you whenever I am coming to the kingdom.” I said,

“The Coleman family still doesn't know that I have found you. I don't want anyone to harm you. You are a human, and it would be really difficult for you to stand up in front of your family of werewolves. If you accept Derek, everything would be different. You will have a mate and he will take care of you.” He said and I understood that he wants me to accept his son. How can I tell him that I already have a mate?

“Mr Buchanan, please give me a day's time. I will contact you.” I said, leaving him no room to argue.

As soon as he left, I felt the need for a meeting. I can't keep the truth hidden for a long time. It would be better if everything is sorted out so that I can start a new life with Milano. Mary came from outside at the same time.

“Good morning, Sarah.” She seemed really happy.

“Good morning, Mary. You look happy. I think you are coming from the hospital. The glow on your face is telling me that Liam is now getting well.” I asked.

“I told him about you and Milano. He is so happy for you both. He told me to convey his greetings to you.” She said,

“Thank you so much and very soon I'll give you some good news. For now I need your help. Mr Buchanan was here to take me to my kingdom. I tried to read his mind but I couldn't. Can you tell me why?” I asked.

“Possibly there are two reasons. First, he is a powerful werewolf. But I don't think that's possible because he doesn't have Alpha blood. Usually the one with Alpha blood gets that power. The second possibility is that he is under some spell. I mean, he is getting help from someone who knows magic.” She explained.

“How can I know his real intentions? He wants me to accept his son.” I said,

“Why didn't you tell him that you are marked?” She asked.

“I don't know but I had the feeling that I shouldn't. I think it's better to keep it hidden until everything is sorted out.” I said,

“What about your pack? Are you going to keep them in darkness?” She asked.

“No, we have to tell them but for that I need permission from Milano and his family. I don't want to make it a big deal. But still they deserve to know that I am now their Luna.”
