Chapter 58 - Mind reading

Just an intense look and Mr Raymond stopped in his tracks. I looked around and looked at the people present there. It wouldn't be wise to do anything in front of so many people. I looked at Milano and he looked at me as if he heard my inner voice.

“What's the matter, Sarah?” I could hear him but he did not even move his lips. Is this what he said as a mind link?

“Yes, my dear. You can talk to me without being heard by anyone.” He said in my mind.

“I want everyone to go from here except your parents, grandmother and Mary.” I told him.

“Is there any problem?” He asked.

“Yes and I don't think it's wise to reveal the truth in front of everyone.” I said,

“You may all leave. Mary, you can go back to your room. Mom, please take Dad to his room.” Milano said,

“I am not going anywhere until these two are not thrown out of the mansion.” His dad stood there determined.

I know someone is making him do these things. I have to talk to Mary before speaking to anyone else.

“Sarah, take Mary to her room. I will take care of the rest.” Milano said ignoring his father.

“Where is Teddy?” I asked Pamila.

“He is in his room and Bella is taking care of him. She will stay with him tonight.” Pamila informed.

At least I don't have to worry about him. I took Mary’s hand and walked towards the guest room. I could hear Mr Raymond's angry voice but I ignored him. Once we were inside the room, I locked the door and turned to face Mary.

“Congratulations, Luna,” Mary said, making me smile.

“How did you know?” I asked.

“I am not a werewolf but still I could differentiate between a human and a werewolf.” She said,

“No, in my case you failed. I wasn't a human from the beginning. Now can you predict what my real identity is?” I asked.

“There was something strange about you from the beginning but I was never able to point out what. If you weren't a human, then what were you?” She asked.

“I'll tell you everything and you will have to explain the reason behind my story.”

I said and told her everything that happened a few hours ago. I did tell her about my dream but purposely skipped a part of the dream.

“Now tell me, what made my wolf to be inactive for so long? Why did I never know that I know magic?” I asked.

“Your mother and grandmother were the most powerful witches I have ever heard of. They were definitely marvelous. Do you know why I asked you to wear that pendant? I got a different vibe from it. You had that dream because of that pendant. Your mother or grandmother definitely created that pendant with their magic. They wanted you to know everything when the time comes. It might be your mother who covered all the traces of you being a hybrid. She did it with her magic. Her love must be the thing that saved you from that accident. But I don't understand why you were never traced by anyone. Because as far as I know, the magic of a witch goes away when her body is buried.” Mary said,

“Yes, you are right. After my mother's cremation, my grandmother took me with her. She covered my traces after that. Now I know how I traveled from Chicago to New York in just one second.” I said,

“That's why I said that your grandmother was a great witch. That's the longest distance I have ever heard anyone has traveled by magic. I think it's the same love and protection of your mother and grandmother that covered Teddy's smell too.” She said,

“No, Teddy was protected by his mother's love and sacrifice. He was too protected by a witch. I can now sense that the old woman who helped me that night was a witch.” I said,

“We have answers for your mysterious life. But we don't know why they had to hide you and today from being identified? Who was trying to hurt you?” Mary said,

“Yes I need the answer and I will find out soon.” I said,

“What do you think about Mr Raymond? Who might have bewitched him?” Mary asked.

“That’s exactly the same thing I want to know.” I said,

“Whoever bewitched him is really good at doing black magic.”

“You are right, but how will we find out who did that black magic?” I asked.

“How do you know I was thinking about the one who did the black magic?” She asked.

“Because you said it to me.” I said,

“I didn't Sarah. I was just thinking about that in my mind. Wait wait, so you are not just a normal hybrid. You are a really special one. You can read others' minds.” She said with a big smile.

“How's that possible?” I asked.

“Let's try it.” She said,

“The medicine is not yet ready. I have to prepare it tonight to save my Liam.” Mary thought.

“Don't worry Mary, Liam will be alright and I will help you in making the medicine. But you will have to guide me because I have never made any medicine before.” I said,

“Yes, it's confirmed that you can read minds.” She said,

“I don't understand, Mary.” I said,

“I didn't say that aloud.” She said,

“But that's just a mind link. I did that before with Milano. I talked to him through the mind link.” I said,

“That's different Sarah. That time you were communicating with each other. But here I wasn't communicating with you. I was having my own thoughts. You read my thoughts and gave me the answers. It's really rare among witches to get such a gift. It's going to be easy for you now to find your enemies.” Mary said,

“You are a lifesaver, Mary. Thank you so much for guiding me. I am going to need your help a lot. For now, let's make the medicine for Liam. After that, I will need your help to take out Mr Raymond from the black magic he is possessed with. Let's do it together.” I said,

“Yes and I am the one who is lucky to get you as a friend. We witches get training as we grow up. But you are the first one I have heard of doing magic without even getting proper guidance.” She said,

“That's exactly what I want to know. Milano said that he had seen you chanting when you did magic. I did do magic but I have no idea. He said that I have been chanting something but I don't know what. I want to know why I felt the pain when I tried to ease Milano's pain?” I asked.

“That's a very complicated magic. I have never tried that before. It's done only to save a life. No witch will be ready to perform that magic. Doing that magic you take the pain of the other person inside you and in the process you get weak. Sometimes The witch even loses her powers.” She explained.

“Thanks to your medicine. I got well really soon. I am not going to try that magic again.” I said,

“When doing magic you should have a clear idea of what you have to do. Here I think you might have thought of taking his pain instead of relieving his pain.”

Mary explained my mistake. I will have to get proper training from her before trying to do any other magic.
