Chapter 109 Discussing his darling girl's name?

Chapter 109 Discussing his darling girl's name?
109\. Discussing his darling girl's name?

After a good meal, they settled in the foyer with the lights of contentment burning bright around them. Baby Hunter drifted off to sleep in Aura's arms as she sat to feed her in her room. The wolf that's been eagerly lurking outside her room to hold the tiny parcel to his chest scented the baby's slumber and after a small knock, he reeled inside.

"She's asleep now, Brian. How are you going to play with her?" Aura was amused to see Brian pout at the cot and then swoosh down next to it.

"Watching her sleep will also do." He shrugged before fixating his gaze with Aura's little girl.

The birth of her daughter affected Brian harder than others. He was behaving as if the baby was his new toy and he was so obsessed with her that sitting here next to her cot seemed more comfortable than out with others as they discussed the name of the new member in the family.

"You wouldn't mind me sitting here with her, would you?" Brian sighed hopefully.

"Definitely not," Aura's reply dilated his irises and he kissed her cheek before leaning across the cot to take a look at the snoring soul again.

"I love her so much. I wish this was my daughter." He said.

"She is still your daughter, isn't she? After all you have taken intense authority over her." There was an announcement coming from the door.

Aura happily opened arms for Damien and he jumped in the bed gladly. Taking a drink of her lips, he slapped his beta on the back of his head playfully, only to get a growl of warning in return.

It was a warning to leave him alone. A warning that was a deep growl stirring from the depth of his lungs, wanting to be left alone. A growl that clearly demanded peace and to mind their own business as he minded his own.

"I am forced to wonder how come an innocent butterfly is born in the house of a devil like you? She should have been mine." Brian said as he lovingly peaked at the baby through the fence of the cot.

The fiery blurring away under the cover of serenity on his cheeks. His eyes softened and he fluttered them lovingly.

Alpha Damien chuckled and took Aura in his arms, "If only you had Aurora as your mate, you know, you could have the baby."

He kind of bragged directly claiming that a gorgeous baby as that can only be born out of his sexy temptress.

"Oh well, I could have had her if I didn't think about your feelings for her, Hunter. You know I've made so many sacrifices for you." Brian said with his set of eyebrows shrinking together as they hinted at something only the alpha and he knew.

He's never spoken about his mate even after being insisted on. But many times he threatened Damien of winning Aurora to piss him off. That worked on several occasions.

Whoever ever saw Brian threatening him with Aurora also noticed a glint in his eyes that meant something. Something that was unsaid but comprehensive.

Damien smiled looking back at the time the two of them spent, and crawled forward. He yanked Brian by his hair and engulfed him in a back hug.

"You have many more sacrifices to make, Mr. Filip. Be the godfather you've claimed to be for my daughter."

"Until my last breath, Mr. Hunter." Aura fluttered her eyes and let out a noticeable heave as she flared a hand across her face to fan her face.

The guys chuckled and straightened their postures. Their Bromance was rare yet whenever it occurred, the Alpha's mate couldn't help but grind her teeth with her guards standing up in alarm.

"I still doubt if I am your one true love, Damien Hunter?" She pulled him back with her eyes shrinking to slits.

Only when he picked her bridal style and suckled her mouth aggressively did she smile and moaned. He was hers and he would always be hers forever. Just that Damien's bonding with Brian was too good to be true and suspicious to her eyes.

Anyway, as they left their quarters and arrived in the foyer, they were welcomed with great howls and grunts.

"Damn, they were literally smiling and teasing each other some while ago!" Alpha Damien placed his parcel on the couch and settled next to her.

With his hand going behind her to rest, he eased and watched Rosario throw humiliating remarks at Ginny. The model was no less with. She whipped the French billionaire with an equal amount of enrage. Even wilder and disgusting to ears. No one can hold Ginny's hand in arguments.

"Kathrine is way better a name than freaking Medusa, Ginny Williams. Stop arguing with me you dumb bitch as you're never going to win." Rosario grunted.

"Medusa!" Aurora's mouth plummeted agonizingly. She looked over her shoulder at her husband and seethed. "I am not naming my daughter Medusa."

It was a slow whisper and Ginny was too enraged by Rosario to catch it. She maniacally clenched her jaw and tossed a pillow at Rosario.

"What's wrong with Medusa huh?! I love the name." She lifted her lashes of hope to peer at others for support but they averted their gaze.

Ginny stretched her lips in a smile at Aura but just then, "You can name your daughter Medusa, says Brian on the mind link. Or better keep her in the Greek myth and think of a name that will suit our daughter. If you can't do either of the two then just keep your mouth sealed tight." Alpha Damien narrated every word Brian uttered on their psychological link, coming to Aura's defense

The name was no good. It sounded evil and belonged to an evil characteristic in the Greek myth. Aura was never going to agree, Damien neither. Their daughter resembled an angel thus she deserved to be named after an angel.

"I will fix that dummy soon." Ginny fisted her fingers and slammed them in the pillow resting in her lap.

"I am waiting in bed for you to do so."

A rumble followed and everyone looked towards Damien and Aura's bedroom. Brian was peeking through a creak. He showed a middle finger and muttered something before going back inside the room.

There was utter silence. While Ginny tried not snort with every breath, Rosario suppressed his mocking chuckles. But he couldn't help considering Ginny's sour face.

"Okay guys, I suggest Kathrine." Rosario divided the awkward silence with his calm voice.

Mr. Hunter rolled his eyes, "Diana sounds good. Sounds similar to Damien."

Damien forced his lips as he clutched Aura to his side. The name was cool and he loved it too. What Mr. Hunter suggested, nevertheless, it didn't sound pleasant to his ears. He didn't want to name his daughter after his name. Something similar like Aurora would sound like a symphony to his ears.

He scratched his left eyebrow and looked at other members, "What about others?"

He looked upon Madam Martha and his mother for their opinions. They shifted slightly and after a small mum they said after one another.

"Jenna for me." Madam Martha hesitantly raised the corner of her lips.

"How about Grace? It'll suit her I suppose." That Celine, quietly putting some strands of her behind her left ear.

Damien turned to the servants who had been quietly witnessing them discuss the baby's name.

"Would you guys like to suggest something?" His father chewed the side of his bottom lip as he looked away.

He never appreciated Damien including the lower class people in his personal matters, let alone in decision making. But Damien being Damien, quietly summoned them from behind the pillars or the corners and asked them sincerely.

Tiara.

Casey.

Beverly.

Ellie.

Wendy.

Joanna.

Miranda.

Natalie.

Violet.

Shirley.

Various names were spilled on the table for the Alpha to choose from and he listened to every servant, who participated, honestly.

"I think Zendaya is a rare name." As the last suggestion came, everyone chuckled.

"You seem to be her crazy fan." Ginny flared her hair and erected her posture to look better, as if trying to prove she was the best.

This caused everyone to crack up. Ginny was a model to the core. And just like one, she didn't like another good face being mentioned in her existence.

"At least better than Medusa, the queen of snakes." Rosario laughed not before lifting his hands to the height of his head, surrendering before Ginny pounced on him.

Their cute non-verbal communication continued for a while until Damien coughed. He eliminated his arm from behind Aura and rose to his mountain-like height. His flexing shoulders made their eyes move according to their motion, and then his tempting face grabbed them.

"Your suggestions are lovely. Had God granted me with twins, I would have named one of the two with one of the names suggested by all of you all. However," Damien turned his back to admire his serene beauty yawning on the couch.

She was tired from the long day. Her eyes begged for closure and dozed off to sleep but she preferred to play a good daughter-in-law. Damien's parents visited rarely. Staying a night in his son's mansion was a big deal hence she wanted to make a good impression on them and assure that their son was happy with her.

It was not a secret that she was far from being a good mate to their son, born a prince with all the luxuries. Celine had expressed her disagreement until the day of marriage and Jacob didn't shut his mouth unless Damien showed him the pregnancy reports. They were not ready for this marriage.

But her pregnancy was heartily accepted and that little soul snoring under the surveillance of her godfather was their heiress. They were here for their grandchild. How can Aura not keep her weakness aside and come here to sit with them? She was a good daughter-in-law after all.

But not for a long time. Damien bent down to shower her mouth with a thankful kiss and get up again. He was keen on announcing the name and getting it done with.

The name he decided with Aurora during one of their sleepless nights as they had stuck closer and talked endlessly about their lives after becoming parents.

"Aura and I have picked some names during her pregnancy." He was referring to his family present there but his eyes only spoke to Aurora.

"We thought Derek for the boy would be lovely, if we had a boy." a soft and loving curve touched his lips.

It was Aura's suggestion. She wanted the son's name to match his father's. Her thought was that a son should carry the same air as his father's and the similarities in name would make people remember his father even after his existence faded away. He would carry the legacy just like his dad and outshine the world.

Damien winked at the love of his life, "And we agreed to name our daughter Arianna, if we had a girl."

Damien shared Aura's thoughts in this regard. If the boy was to be named after his brawny father and take down his impressive habits and charisma. Then their daughter was to be named after her mother, the epitome of beauty and innocence. She was more delicate than the petals of a flower. More vibrant than the sun rays and brighter than the illumination cast by the moon.

This had been the reason behind desiring a daughter. Alpha Damien wanted a younger version of his wife and to see her grow as if seeing Aura. She was finally here and there was nothing preventing him from fulfilling all the wishes he carved out of a thin hope.

"Arianna Damien Hunter." He breathed her name aloud.

A wave of pure happiness washed over his face, brightening the stretch of his smile. It was good to see everyone agreeing with a tender glow on their faces. They perceived his emotions and there was nothing else he could want.

"Arianna sounds good to my ears. Like a soft piano note." Ginny joined her hands under her chin and adored Damien's cute looks.

"I second that, honestly. I never thought that. It's… it's a charming name. We will call her Anna." Rosario slipped to the edge of his seat.

Mr. Hunter didn't seem to absorb it. The name was similar to Aurora and he didn't quite settle with it. But one look at Damien's face and he beamed. It was his choice and he had every right to name his daughter after whoever he chose. Not that he was doing anything wrong naming his daughter after his wife.

"Arianna… a pretty name." He relaxed back on the couch, showing his agreement.

Madam Martha and Celine hugged each other. They could not name her any better. Arianna… the most holy. The meaning of the name and the air that sweet little girl brought with herself well matched. Holy like an angel. Holy like holy itself.

Arianna Hunter… it was as if the name originated for Damien's daughter.

"My lovely Anna," the old Housekeeper tasted her granddaughter's nickname.

Celine was no less when it came to showcasing her thrill. She jumped on her feet and swirled around as she chanted her grandchild's name.

"Wow, mom!" The eyes of her son showered her with admiration and applause.

This was the life he craved and deserved. Among all the captivating sounds made by existing beings around him, Alpha Damien focused on the soft breathing of his daughter.

He can't help but wonder about her small lungs and her efforts of filling it with air. She was so small. Her breaths sounded so shallow yet so deep for her. His hand lifted across his gaze and he fisted them.

It was said that the size of one's fist denotes the size of their heart. He'd seen her tiny fist as little as a pebble. Across his own, it felt like a small pea. Gosh, she was a little bud and Damien promised himself to protect her until she transformed into a graceful flower.

He blinked away his tears of contentment as he looked behind his back to the corridor leading to his room, 'Dear daughter, your father will never let anything bother you. I love you so much.'
