Ray POV
When I returned home from my meeting with the Lunari, I freshened up and slept.
The next day. I began planning ways for which I was going to kill my father.
I didn’t know how he was faring since my rash beating of him. But I knew he sure would have heightened his security.
Making it hard for me to kill him physically.
I took my phone and dialled a number. On the third ring, it picked.
“Who am I onto?”
“Your favourite boss.” I drawled.
“Ray?”
“Correct.”
“This is as surprising and as scary as it seems,” Nichole said.
Nicholas is my father’s personal guard and the only person who has unlimited and uncensored access to him.
“Oh. It’s not a cause for alarm.”
“It’s always a cause of alarm with you.” I could hear his gritted teeth from the phone.
I chuckled evilly. He was indeed correct.
The last time I called was to threaten him over a favour, and the reason for calling wasn’t far from the reason for the last time.
“I love how you know me so well.”
“What do you want?”
“Oh. Just a simple request: I want my father dead.”
“You’ve got some nerves. Calling and asking this. I’ll let you know that your father is on the lookout for you. And he’s pretty pissed. So a little advice for you. Get your things and leave town. Before it gets too messy for you.”
I chuckled. “You’re the one who needs to leave town if you do not do as I have requested.”
“I’m not scared of you.”
“Oh, you should be, 'cause just one phone call and everyone is finding out how you poisoned alpha Kent to death; now my father, as always, would sweep you off the carpet. He would deny having given you the orders. And since he’s an elder. He would be overlooked. But you, on the other hand. Are just a mere servant wolf. Do you really think they would be of any mercy to you? You know the penalty for the betrayal of the alpha position is death for the culprit and his family; how would you like it if your two daughters were slaughtered for your sins.”
This caused a momentary silence. Meaning my words had gotten to him.
“You don’t have proof.”
That was true. But the thing about fear is that once you are hindered by it, you will believe anything.
“Oh, come on, you know I don’t makeup stuff without proof. If you want, I’ll send the proof to the elders right now, but that’ll end you, so the choice is yours.”
Another prolonged silence.
“How do you wish for me to perform the task?”
I smiled, satisfied by the out turn of things.
“Easy. Make it look like an accident. A car accident. Spike his food, which would make him really weak and fuzzy. Then, make him get on the road. And just let the drugs do their magic.”
There was another pause.
“What if he doesn’t end up getting himself in an accident? Then, when he regains his senses. He would try to kill me for spiking his food.”
That was indeed correct.
“If that happens. You would improvise and run him over.”
“Run him over? How?”
“Enough with the questions; all I need is my father dead, and the death must not raise any unwanted suspicions.”
Another pause.
“Do you concur with what I have said?”
“Yes.” His tone was tight.
I smirked. “I’ll expect an answer in the next five hours. Don’t disappoint me, Nicholas.”
The call cuts short.
In the meantime, I got ready to see the pack witch.
So I could plan my next move, which was to kill her. Or kidnap her.
Anything to make sure that the so-called Lunari didn’t get to her.
He couldn’t use me for information and then dump me just cause I didn’t agree to be his slave.
I drove down to the pack witch's house.
On arriving. I knocked on her door.
And the person who was at the door was she.
“Lord Ray!” She exclaimed in utter shock.
“Good day. Elara.”
“What has brought you to my doorstep?”
“Just a friendly chat and checking up on our pack witch.”
She gave me a skeptical look. I could tell she didn’t seem too excited about me being in her home. But she also didn’t have a choice but to invite me in, as it would be considered rude not to welcome the beta of the pack.
And so I was welcomed in and shown the couch.
She sat next to me afterwards.
“I hope there is no issue?”
“None at all. I just wanted to ask some questions.”
Elara was an aged woman, so when she expressed discomfort, it showed well due to the wrinkles on her face.
“What questions?”
“Ha. Just some questions about the pack. The pack members, about our pack history. And about the pack magic.”
Her eyes were squinted in confusion,
“Let me be more specific. I know of the truth behind Adrien's birth.”
She froze up.
“Don’t try to deny it. I have known this truth for a while now.”
“You have no proof to your claims.”
“That’s where you are wrong. You see, I hadn’t even been born when the whole situation revolving around Adrien’s birth started. But I knew what had happened thanks to Alpha Kent’s journal. Which I have with me.”
That was a lie. But she didn’t know that.
“There’s nothing you can do to me. I was only following orders.”
“Sure. But you would still lose your position as the pack witch. Not to mention the disgrace that would be on your family.”
She grew quiet.
“What do you want?”
“Now we have gotten to the real deal. I want you to promise me your silence.”
“What do you mean?”
“The secret behind Adrien's death. I want it to be kept a secret.”
She looked even more confused.
“Someone is going to come look for you. To seek your help. I don’t know what for. But I need you to promise that you won’t help them.”
“And do I perhaps know this person?”
“No. But soon you would.”
“And is that all you wish for me?”
“Yes. But I need to be really sure that you
I wouldn’t be able to help or meet this person. And to do that, I can either kill you. Or I can make you disappear.”
Her eyes widened in fear. The only reason I could be this cool about the situation was that Elara had lost her powers.
And so right now, she was just a defenceless wolf.
“What?”
“You heard me. So what’s it going to be? Your death. Or your disappearance?”
She swallowed hard.
“This is absurd. You can’t come into my home and threaten me. I shall report you to the elders.”
“Right after I hand them the reports of your sins.”
She glared hard at me.
“Now I ask again, what would it be? Our death or your disappearance. Though I’m really rooting for your death right now.”
Her eyes went to the door. And she immediately sprinted towards it. But I ran towards her and caught her before she could escape.
Then I threw her off. Making her crash hard on the wall.
A groan escaped her lips.
“Please stop..” she pleaded.
“Seems death really is the deal.”
I lurched towards her, and I clawed my sharp claws into her skin.
Causing her to scream more. Blood spurge on the floor.
She tried to get away from me. But I continuously clawed at her body.
Till she wasn’t resisting me, her breath got shorter with each of my hits on her.
“If- if you kill me- the witch's curse would be on your head.” She said in her moment of desperation
I had a feeling that it wasn’t the truth. And so I just kept clawing at her.
Till her breathing finally seized.
And she was finally dead. Thankfully, she lived alone. So her daughter Amy wouldn’t be figuring out her body for a while.
Amy was out of town, and, from my findings, she didn’t communicate with her mother.
And so she couldn’t figure out that her mother was dead for a while.
And when she finally does. I would be the alpha. And she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
I called some of my men to clear up the killing scene.
And to also burn Elara’s body and throw the ashes into the sea.
They nodded and went to do as I commanded.
I had spent hours in Elara's home. Meaning I could call Nicholas to ask him for an update on my father’s death.
I called his line. However, he didn’t pick up.
I tried several. Still no response.
I decided to give it a rest.
After a few hours, I tried again, and this time, it was picked up.
But it wasn’t Nicholas who picked the phone up.
It was my father.
“Hello, son. I see plotting murder has become your new hobby.”
I swallowed hard.
