Reece.
I watched the colour drain from his face as he cursed lowly, refusing to meet my gaze.
"Reece, this is like going on a fruitless mission. Raze is a pain in the ass and won't release her." He lamented bitterly.
"He would, we just need to play the cards right."
"But.."
"No buts. We'll talk about this later, see me in my office." I told him curtly and addressed the pending packs issues that needs to be attended to. If he wasn't tired I was tired of eveehome singing his praise like he was some monster that couldn't be battled.
I sat in my favor leather chair in our inner meeting room and motioned for Derek to go on with the meeting.
"The warlord called in and said he's reconstructing the army and changing the rangs after our last defeat. The top warriors hasn't recovered from the injuries from the last war." Derek said. "One of the speculations were that the enemy were given upper information about our tactics."
"Crap, any lead on who might have done that?"
"Tons. They are currently being investigated by the warlord."
"All right. I trust him to do his work." I said as a maid poured a cup of coffee. "Go on, what else have you got?"
"We have new applicants who wants to work in the tavern, but I told them you ordered for no extra women. They kept persuading, one crept up into my room and offered a free night if I could sway you a bit." All eyes fell on Tom in amusement.
"Well that was quite a free fuck for you and a lucky one, because I still say no. We have more issues to handle now that Amber is right in Raze bosom."
"Does he know about her pack?"
"No." I told them. There was not way Amber would have ratted to Raze how bad I treated her and he won't be flying here with his claws in our necks. From what I heard he was quite jealous and possessive. But it still baffles me how a renowned man could have a thing for Amber, I didn't have a thin for her either I just wanted Raze to know I wasn't to be played with.
"Any news from their pack?"
"Their pack is gearing up for the bonfire festival. Raze is on a trip and have been absent from the pack for a while." Tom said.
"Do you think he would be there during the festival?"
"What's it to you if he attends or not?"
"Well, we could lead a sneak attack." Derek said with a smirk. "Right Alpha?"
"Sneak just because of Amber? Like some low class fools?" I growled and their happy discussion came.to an abrupt end and I looked at them in disbelief. "Whats with all the hype when you can't attack your enemy heads on?"
"That's not what we're implying Alpha. It's.."
"Save it, get ready for the next raid and equip your skills and don't act like a freaking loser." I told them, straightening my gait and walked out of the room.
Alpha Reagan stood at the waiting room with his hands at his back as he paced endlessly. I relished in his perplexity, making my presence known he rushed to me and with a nod I led him to my office.
I watched with keen intent as he became restless on the seat. He had spent all hus battling as the alpha and the mere mention of Raze had him all shaky and peeing in his pants? Talk of a loser. He was still a major criteria in my plan and I wasn't letting that off. He gave me this pack for a reason, I surely knew way he had in his mind. He wanted me to stabilize and gain fame and power for the pack while he comes back to claim his pack after all is said and done?
I hadn't exoectee him to act so cowardly, I turned to look pjr the window. What Reagan had failed was my obvious disinterest in his daughter, he may have or may not have seen me or heard of my fleet with diffenet women but he always made a cautious move to avoid bringing up the topic.
"So you think Alpha Raze is unbeatable and we have to cower at his feet because he is well known for his brutality and disbelief?" I asked in disbelief.
"You are getting it wrong. We can't attack without knowing his weak points, he must surely have some weak points that woukd be our greatest openeng." He said with much confidence that I was forced to believe him.
He was making a point, Alpha Raze's weak point must be something that we couldn't easily catch on.
"What do you think if might be?" I asked, turning around and leaned against the wall, my hands in my pockets.
"I can't say." Alpha Reagan responded then sighed deeply. "I'll have to make my research, and implant more spies in the pack."
I smiled, pulling my weight off the wall and walked towards him with a pat on his shoulder I said with a hint of fake concern lying under my voice. "Alpha Raze is a big opponent if you want to gain the power you want. We have to get through him to rule other packs as you please. I don't want your plans to go down the drain Alpha Reagan."
He nodded at my fake show of concern and sincerity. "All right. I'll do all I can to make sure we pull him down."
I nodded and pressed on slyly. "You know the implication if Amber stays with him for too long?"
"I know that Reece and I'll work towards getting my daughter back." He said. "She is my daughter afterall."
After small talks he left the office. I sighed, he really thought getting Amber would be so easy after the way he treated her in the time past. I'll sit back and watch the game unfold.
