Thirty Seven
~Amber.
My breathing wasn't stable as I stared at my disheveled appearance in the mirror. My hair looked like a bed nest and my face a bit swollen or it was just my eyes. My heart thudded ferociously against my ribcage, he had seen me this way.
What the hell was he doing in my room with myself shamelessly cuddling and leaning into his touch. The feeling of hardened flesh on my body jolted me up from my slip just to find myself being held tightly by him.
My face was so hot and I tried to calm omby splashing cold water on my face.
"Amber? Alpha asks for you to meet him fo breakfast." Ayra called from outside. My heart froze and for a moment I thought I would die of embarrassment. How would I face him? What would I say? How would I explain myself for squirming against his hardened flesh and his arms that were around my waist.
"Amber?" Oh she was still here
"Yeah, um good. I'll be down, you may leave." I said immediately, I wasn't going to allow anyone see how embarrassed and flushed I was.
"He asked me to help you get dressed."
Oh God what do I do? Ayra would surely notice, urgh this was just so embarrassing.
"Fine, I'll be out." I said and had a quick but intense showly, hoping to scrub and shove the embarrassment I felt away.
I walked out of the bathroom to Ayra gazing at a dress she had prepared for me. I paused at the bathroom doorway watching her intently. She whistled under her breath as she made turned and her eyes met mine.
"Amber?" She called, her brown eyes squinted in enquiry which I soon dispelled with a wave of my hand and nervous smile..
I hastily got dressed avoiding her intense stare and thoughtful look. "Why do you seem so shaky today?"
I paused on my dressing and looked at her with a shrug. "I'm just nervous you know, I have had breakfast with him for a while."
She nodded in understanding and went to attend to other things, leaving me in my thoughts. What are you doing to me Raze? Why do you affect me so much and makes me want to be perfect in your eyes? I have never felt this way before, not for Reece or even my dad.
Raze turned on some fire in me that I didn't know I had. I slipped into the dress and checked my appearance for the umpteenth time. I was dressed in a red knee length gown, the tiny straps on my shoulders held the cmhown stead on my slim figure. I took tentative and nervous steps out of the room without waiting for Ayra to lead me to him.
The pack was bustling with activities, several men were working on the construction of a building close to the palace while the maids and some other workers trimmed the flowers and well pruned grasses that beautified the pack environment.
With a left turn I walked into the breakfast room and my smile was washed off my face. Brenda's laugh rang in the air and I frowned, she was having a conversation with Raze who seemed to watch her every move. She sat where I usually sit while Raze was on his normal position, he had his left hand lazily on a chair.
Jealously filled my bones and I made myself known with the soft click of my heels. I ignored them both and sat on a chair rather fat away from where they sat, I ignored their looks and drank a glass of water that was on the table.
My nervous feeling gave way to jealousy and anger at seeing Raze and Brenda chat freely with no care in the world.
"Amber, how are you doing?" Brenda asked with fake excitement and a fake smiles plastered on her face. "I and Raze were just having a conversation."
My heart skipped a step and I tried not to contour my face in horror. She called him Raze? Not Alpha? Now how do I explain this.
"Amber, let's start breakfast." Raze finally spoke up giving me an amused glance.
"Er-no thank you. I'm not hungry." I said.
He frowned and looked at me with concern and worry etched on his well sculptured face. "You seem physically fine with no illness, you should eat."
Brenda kept silent, but she gave us questioning looks and at the slightest chance passed me a sneer which I ignored. I flashed Raze a smile and started eating and he nodded with content.
"Er, I'll take my leave I have something's to attend to., Brenda stood up hastily and walked out of the room like there were some minster she didn't want to see in the room.
At her exit the air becane tense as the nervousness and memory of what happened this morning came flooding in and my face grew hot, my cheeks, a deep shade of red.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his velvet like voice sounding so soothing to my hearing. His eyes were filled with concern.
"Yes, I am." I said with a brilliant stutter.
"So want to talk about why you are so red right now?"
"Why were you in my room? Cuddling me against you?" I asked with the last bit of pride I had as my entire body was shaken to the core with embarrassment and shame.
A soft laugh was wrenched out of him after my question
What was so funny?
"Eat up Amber. " He said between laughs. "Something's are better off unsaid."
I nodded but still pressed on. "You wouldn't sneak into my room that way, you scared the shit out of me."
"My apologies senorita but don't blame me for not resisting you alluring scent." He said with a wink, giving me an assessing look.
I was speechless, my words were caught in my throat and my brain danced around at the little compliment I just received. What was happening to me? Why was I so happy at such a harmless compliment? I tried to remind myself of how my fate wasn't determined here but it didn't work, his masculine scenf and the way he looked at me turned things in me.
"You should finish up, we start some training today."
