Say hello to my little dagger!
**Rhaegar’s POV**
In my long life, I’ve seen countless horrors, but none compared to seeing the woman you love suffer so terribly. My uncle’s inappropriate actions toward Natasha tormented me. I told her to wait, and every second felt like an eternity. However, the dagger was essential to defeat our foes. I had to hand it off to Mycelle when she asked me, but I needed it back so I rushed towards Mycelle’s palace- the place that screams of inhuman torture. The corridors and stairs were a steep maze designed to trap the intruder. But since I have been here a couple of times, I know of a few details. So, now it’s time to find the dagger and escape this hellhole.
“This is a great plan, Rhaegar,” I muttered, then shifted to my wolf's form for extra speed. During the hold-on period, I wished I could access Natasha’s thoughts, but the palace’s magical barriers prevented our mind link. I could hear her cries like a broken signal. The last thing I distinctly heard her say was that my aunt was coming here.
“Fuck!” I muttered, both from frustration and anger, as one of the monstrous guards suddenly jumped in front of me and impaled my stomach with a blade. Teeth clenched, I swung my blade, cleaving the enemy in two and tossing the halves into Aurora’s creature cages. In an instant, they devoured it, leaving nothing behind.
I had been expecting this kind of welcome, but it still didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt like a son of a bitch! I rose shakily, letting my healing abilities restore me completely before taking my first step. An arched door directly in front of me led to the room where she conducted her wicked experiments. There were countless shelves filled with potions and their antidotes. An island in the room’s centre held dozens of cauldrons, all bubbling with mysterious substances.
I searched the shelves for the dagger, but I couldn’t find it. I was ready to give up on those frustrating bottles, but then I recalled the cure for the ghost wolves’ curse. That’s all it took to keep me from ruining everything.
“Searching for something!?” A voice emerged through a small opening in the door.
“Dagger!” I muttered in annoyance, looking up at Aunt Mycelle. From beneath her dress, she drew the concealed dagger.
“This one!?” she asked with a devilish grin, before roving her fingers over its sharp edge and kissing the handle.
“Hand it over! Or get ready to die!” I cautioned her.
“Is that so!?” She mocked my threat as if my words were a mere joke. “I would love to, but not before a quick fuck!” She continued speaking, flashing a grin as if she believed she would achieve her desires.
“No way! Aurora’s monsters are far prettier than you!”
Her face contorted at this, unsurprisingly, given her enormous ego.
“You think you’re so smart?” she sneered, her face twisting in disgust.
“Um, I think I’m pretty smart,” I chuckled.
“I don’t think so, because you just proved your stupidity by siding with your crazy ass bitch... erm, what’s her name again... Natasha?” With this, she started laughing.
“Laugh it up while you still have something to amuse you, for pretty soon, you three will be a thing of the past.”
“So, you wish to fight a battle you will never win and die trying...? Great plan, very original,” she muttered with a roll of her eyes. However, her eyes were elsewhere, solely fixated on my crotch as she took steps towards me.
“I don’t care if I die fighting, but I will make sure to hold your severed hand in my grasp before I die,” I growled, daring her to come closer.
“I must confess, your confidence is appealing but then, it always was,” she fucking purred, making me sneer at her, “Yes, well let’s see how fucking appealing it is to you when your head is in my hand.” She hissed at that, a grating sound that made me tense my jaw.
“How disappointing, as I can see now that you have forgotten about your dear mother, who will unfortunately bear the brunt of your stupidity.” Her words struck me like a venom. I gritted my teeth at this, knowing that she had the upper hand. “So quit this sick stubbornness of yours and let me fuck you once, and no one will know of your betrayal.” she winked, rubbing her fingers on my thigh. I shot her a dark look over my shoulder.
“I will feed your body to the fucking dogs,” I threatened her.
“Yes, but for now, just imagine how your uncle will saviour every single ounce of your mother before he drains every last drop of blood of hers,” she whispered, her hands crawling towards my crotch.
“I swear it on my fucking soul, Mycelle, take your hand off me or I will break it into a million pieces!” At this she laughed, coming closer and asked in an arrogant tone, “Oh yeah, you will need an army for this.”
But then, before I could answer, something unbelievable happened—a voice boomed from behind her.
“He doesn’t need an army, bitch, he has me!”
“Natasha!?” I said, asking myself a million fucking questions about how she escaped uncle Louris. With an angry snarl, Mycelle looked back over her shoulder.
**Natasha’s POV**
I glanced behind me before facing the door to Mycelle’s palace dungeons. I felt a shiver run through me as the beast’s booming voice reverberated through the gardens. Knowing he’d soon discover me, I forced the door open and ran inside, trusting Rhaegar to get the dagger back. As for Rhaegar’s mother, I had asked the Grim Reaper to create a portal and take her somewhere safe, away from the clutches of these monsters. I ran swiftly through the narrow corridors flanked by cells. It was like walking through the labyrinth of endless tunnels with monstrous creatures spreading out their hands to reach me.
“Where the hell are you, Rhaegar?” My question was followed by the sudden detection of his smell. Following his scent, I arrived at a massive door adorned with demonic figures. I took a moment to listen cautiously to the internal conversations. I threw open the door, rushed in, and declared, “He doesn’t need an army; he has me!” I felt my anger rising, my fists balling into tight knots. Either the bitch dies today, or I go down trying!
She sauntered over to me, looking like some ugly mermaid.
“How exciting?” she said, flashing her claws. She dared to step closer, and I knew this was my chance to snatch the dagger. I tried to take it from her by curling my hand around it, but the dagger slipped and dropped.
With her hand, she unleashed a powerful surge of energy that hit my left shoulder. I stumbled and hit the floor hard, landing on my backside. “Seriously, when did my life get so complicated?” I reminisced about simpler times in Chicago. Then, before she reached for the dagger, Rhaegar reacted swiftly, splashing a cauldron of vile green potion across her left side. As soon as the potion touched her, a scream of pure terror erupted. Her skin was burning and falling off in charred flakes. The most disgusting thing was her eyeball dissolving as the potion melted half of her face.
“No!” she screamed, grabbing my arm. I know she was not dead yet, and it’s only a matter of time till she heals. In a flash, Rhaegar lunged the dagger at me. I quickly bring out the stone.
“What the...?” I muttered as I fixed the stone in the dagger. I sucked in a startled breath as I felt the rush of power through me like some kind of ghost had just floated right through my body and left behind the essence of magic. I wondered if the dagger possessed some unknown power, given its strange ability to recognize me as if we were somehow connected.
After that, symbols began appearing on it, and it began to glow. Horror washed over Mycelle’s face at the sight of the glowing dagger. Searching the room for help, finding none, she turned to me, her remaining eye pleading for mercy.
“I warned you, Mycelle...I told you I will show no mercy.”
“You can’t kill me...only I can help you kill Aurora,” she muttered.
“What makes you think that we need the help of an evil bitch like you?” Rhaegar asked her.
“I know of her weakness. Let me live and I will help you,” she pleaded. Rhaegar scoffed at this and muttered, “Not fucking likely, because we already know her weakness.” And with these words, he signalled me. She wriggled under me, trying to break free, but I seized a handful of her hair, pulled back her partially disintegrated face, and paused to take a deep breath before plunging the dagger directly into her heart. The dagger’s power surged into her, obliterating her remains, leaving only a decaying skeleton leaking dark fluid.
