The big-bad Wolf!!!

**Natasha’s POV**

There are many women inside me…wicked, unusual, sensual, shaded, tragic, messy and then there’s my wolf…my main...Tasha.

“Tasha,” I mind-linked her.

“I know…I know…We are in deep shit!” She groaned in my mind.

“Save the sass and help me!” I rolled my eyes.

“And how exactly? If this is just a hallucination, then I don’t think they would die for real,” Tasha spoke.

“But what if something bad happens. I won’t take any chances.”

“Let’s work on the clue. If you look at the fourth line, the ‘Misérables’ means those shitty Sirens who are impersonating as mates.”

“To save the mates, we need to focus on the first three lines of the clue,” I spoke.

“The beauty needs to teach the beasts, the beauty means you,” Tasha spoke, and I could definitely feel her rolling her eyes, “whereas the beasts mean our fancy dicks.”

“Stop addressing them as dicks. We can discuss their dicks and--”

“And asses later. I know…I know. But let me tell you, don’t you think their bare asses should come with a warning, ‘Look at your own risk’,” Tasha’s blabbers were driving me over the edge.

“Fuck you, Tasha!” I almost let out a loud growl.

“Okay, okay. ‘The great lesson from the Beauty and the Beast. The thing must be loved before it is lovable.’” Tasha worded out the lines carefully before I unleash my temper on her.

“I know what is to be done. Let’s go, Tasha,” my words held the confidence of a warrior woman who can fight Gods in heaven if the need arises to save her mates; and will not give two monkey’s turds to bring them from hell if she has to.

“But where?” She asked. I don’t know if she is really that dumb or purposefully irritates me.

“Where the white rabbit never goes because it's haunted by the darkest of the ravens,” I retorted, rolling my eyes.

I focused my attention on the seriousness of the situation. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath blocking everything around me. I let out my barrier, and not even the faintest of light or sound dared to cross the threshold of my barrier. I could feel my body going weightless, falling back as the ground below me parted away. The darkness started consuming me like the tentacles of a sea monster, and then a soft voice knocked onto my mind.

“Natasha, we are here!” It was Tasha’s voice. She is standing beside me in her wolf form, the black, bluish grey and red one. We were in the tunnels of my mind; into the dark and daring depths to knock off the asses of those Sirens. We walked through the mazes towards the memories of my mates.

**Damon’s POV**

“What’s taking you so long? Slit your damn throat! You selfish pervert!” Although their words were far from gentle, yet their voices hold magic to convince anyone to act on their whims, no matter how strong-willed the person is. One part of me was still trying to resist those voices, thinking about my baby and Natasha, as this was not what they deserve. Killing myself would be unfair to my unborn baby girl as she would never be able to get to know her father. This would be like cheating on Natasha after what she has done for me. It would be like questioning her love, the love which holds the purity so rare that even Goddess can't deny it. She loved me despite knowing my true nature and intentions.

But then there was guilt, which took birth in the darkest corner of my heart when I offered the first doppelganger to Kara for sacrifice. This guilt festered through the centuries, spreading in my body like a cancerous growth which is stubborn enough to get rid of. No matter how much I convince myself otherwise, but the fact is I’m the culprit of the doppelgangers. These thoughts ran wild in my mind as I pierced the serrated edge of the blade through my skin, and a long trail of blood soaked my tattered shirt or what was left of it.

“Damon, please. We have been through this already. Stop blaming yourself. They are no doppelgangers, but the damned Sirens.” The voice jerked me out from my thoughts as if it could hear my thoughts.

My Natasha found me.

“Don’t listen to her. Just pierce the dagger deeper and take your life. You’re not only the culprits of us but of Natasha as well. You faked love to trap her. This gives you one more reason to die. Well, if you are not motivated, let us tell you a murderous version of Red-riding hood.” Doppelgangers spoke in a playful tone, giggling among themselves as if watching me suffer and die was a fun thing for them.

“Once upon a time, there lived a spoiled prince, an heir to the royal clan of werewolves. His main fun time was to throw tantrums in front of the royal servants and bully their poor babies. His father was so done with his antics, that one day he decided to send him to his grandmother’s house for a few days. She was living all alone in a secluded house amid the dense woods.

The naughty prince put on a red hood and took off to meet his granny. He actually hated that place as there was no one to talk to or play with except his grandmother who was a stern woman. But he loved the bedtimes, as that was when his grandmother would tell him the story of legendary warrior princess Morrighan. Whenever he hears Morrighan’s story, the feeling of déjà vu takes over, as if that was his own story. With what he felt, emotions vast, they could have been lovers of the past. His grandmother would always address her as his mate. The five-year-old prince was confused by that term, as he was still too small to understand that bond.

One night, his grandmother was about to start the story but was interrupted by the mewing of her cats, which was a bit unusual at that time of night.

“Boy, go to sleep. No sneaking out of the bed.” She warned him and left the bedroom. The prince always loved doing the things which he was not supposed to do. He sneaked out and silently strolled towards the living area. There were about six women dressed in black. They were sitting in a circle. Some serious discussion was going on.

“The black-veiled mage is back. She is with Mycelle in the Northern realm.” One of them spoke.

“She is in hiding, waiting for the next Morrighan.” The one with the scariest mask had a raspy voice.

“So, what do you suggest? We can't penetrate the Northern Realm. Prince Louris has taken over the throne after his brother’s death, and we are not equipped to fight his monstrous army.” This time it was the stern voice of his grandmother.

“We will not target the black-veiled mage directly. We will deny her the powers of Morrighan.” The one with a raspy voice spoke again.

“You’ll kill Morrighan?” Grandmother asked in surprise.

“Yes, but she is not reborn yet, so we’ll kill one of her mates. Without the mark of her mates, Morrighan won’t get her powers, so she will be useless for the mage.”

“I won’t let you kill my grandson,” the grandmother warned those witches.

“No, we are not even touching him. Whereas, we can't even lay fingers on the prince of the Northern Realm, as he is in Mycelle’s care after his parents died. So, our target is your son’s bastard son. That abomination near to be rid of to cleanse this world of impurity.” The raspy lady spoke.

“No, I won’t let you touch him. I was responsible for injustice to him and his mother, but now I will correct it. And, I’m warning you all to stop killing innocents, and instead, train the next Morrighan to kill the black-veiled mage---” The grandmother’s voice trailed off as the sharp edge of the crystal dagger sliced through her throat. The witches nodded at the killer whose face was hidden by a mask of a big-bad wolf. The young prince who witnessed the crime screamed and hid his face. The killer removed the mask and went after the prince.

“Dear, what are you doing here?” The killer asked the prince. The scared prince hugged the killer.

“Mom, someone attacked granny,” his words were muffled by the loud gasps of cry.

“That is what happens when you mess up with bad witches. Let’s go baby, and stop crying, for your father would never send you here again.” His mother carried him up and took him away from his granny's house as if nothing had happened.

“And what about granny? Won’t you save her?” He asked.

“Forget her sweetheart, for she is gone now.”

Once the son grew up, the mother manipulates him to trap the doppelgangers, and the same crystal dagger was used to sacrifice them.” Once the doppelgangers were done telling the story, I froze in shock. I knew my mom always hated Lukas and his mother, so her plot to kill them was no surprise, but never thought that she killed my granny, and Goddess know how many other innocent lives.

“Damon! Look at me!” Natasha held my hand, forcing me to face her. Her eyes followed the trail of my blood. I jerked her away when she tried to trace my wound with her fingers.

“Natasha please, I’m a monster. I am the real big-bad wolf of this story, for I blindly did what my mom said like a mindless puppet.” The tears rolled my eyes.

“No Damon, you were made to act that way. You were forced to be the monster. Your intentions were not bad.”

“Good intentions don’t justify killing people. I deserve to die.” My words were guilt-laden, and the voices of doppelgangers were driving me over an edge. I was hanging on a thin rope. And that was when Natasha used her triumph card.

Our baby!!

“Do you feel the magic?” She asked me, putting my hand on her tummy. I could feel my baby girl’s heartbeats, a kind of divine connection forged by the heavens. She continued speaking, “Forget the past and think about the future. I need you to fight beside me when we face Aurora and her minions. Once again you need to think about your people whose expectations lie on you. Forget about the lives you took, and think about the lives you can save. It won’t lessen your guilt or grant you a place in heaven but help you to focus on what is needed to be done to save those young children from the hellish life of ghost wolves. You may be the monster that killed doppelgangers, but I had seen how that monster cried for all he wanted was a smile on the faces of those poor little girls in his kingdom. Make your heart stubborn and ask for forgiveness from the doppelgangers. Their souls are still trapped somewhere in between the realms of living and dead. Your death may go in vain, but your remorse will unbind their souls and pass them over to heaven for salvation. And one last thing, just remember, without you, I’ll be so lost. I need the big-bad wolf in you to show the rage and kill these fucking sirens.”

“Damon, don’t listen to her. You need to die,” I could feel the doppelganger's sarcasm going the shit way as they realized their magic was waning on me and their hold getting weakened.

“Shut the fuck up, you fucking Sirens! I am like a shadow to my mates, watching over them, so when they need me, I’ll step out to protect what’s mine and kick the asses of the bitches.” Natasha snarled at them. The anger swept over their faces, making them distorted as if exposed to heat. They were finding it difficult to continue impersonating doppelgangers. The anger crawled through their skins, forcing them to show their true forms, the decomposing ones. One of them tried to attack Natasha, which forced her to dodge back and counterattack. As Natasha was already in her mind, her barrier was not working, which made her vulnerable to attack, but that was not the case for me. I lunged forward, piercing the dagger straight through the neck of that siren, instantly freezing her. She started to melt and was reduced to a black putty in no time. That’s the least I can do for Natasha, as she loved me even after knowing my bad intentions. She moulded me from a monstrous beast to a man who has learnt to love. My life is not mine but hers, and if she wants me to live, then that’s what going to happen.

“I’ll take care of them, you leave,” I shouted at Natasha, getting ready to launch an attack on others. One by one they all were reduced to ashes, while the last of their screams echoed through the space.
