Chapter 197 THE CONFRONTATION

Chapter 197 THE CONFRONTATION
Chapter 196

Rosa's POV

“And the pictures…” I snatched it from her hand. “What business do you have here? Who gave you permission to come in here?”

The words erupted from my mouth, permeating the whole space.

“How come you don't know how to mind your business!”

“I just came to….”

“You came to do what?” I countered. My voice came out raw again.

“Today marks your end anyways in this palace wall,” I said, letting out a shrug. “Thank the goddess that Alpha Vexhood is back, and he's back for good. You are packing your things and leaving this palace just like everyone else leaving in fear,” I snapped, my voice coming out raw and dark.

I reached for some of the pictures, which had fallen on the ground.

“Next time, you ask for permission, ok, before taking things that do not belong to you. How come you don't have manners? You entered into someone's privacy and started laying hands on things that are not your business.”

My voice came out raw. I didn't care anymore. She wouldn't do anything to me since her backbone, Alpha Jax, is no more.

I turned, heading to the doorway, with the pictures clasped in my hand.

“So Alpha Jax is dead?” Lyra asked, her face laced with emotions.

“You killed him?”

“You are shocked?” I let out a demonic laughter.

“Yes, I did!” I replied.

“You are shocked, right?”

“I eventually found a way to eliminate that weakling called Alpha Jax that does not fit to be a king other than a group of snails. Now a real king is coming.”

I looked at her. Her facial expressions didn't change a bit. Calm as usual. No pain. Nothing. I wondered what kind of wolf she was. She hardly feels sad, cries, or anything. I thought my lies were going to break her—that I killed Jax.

“I know that you don't want to show it,” I said, “but I could see it written all over your face that you are sad that I killed your concubine, the father of your child.”

“You think I didn't know that you were pregnant?”

I drifted towards Lyra, poking my forefingers into her chest.

The words hung in the air. Reading her face for the next reaction from her based on the bombshell I had dropped.

“That's why they call me the scalpel. I cut clean, sharp, and deep,” I said, letting out another grin.

“I have rendered your pup fatherless before he or she spends his first minutes on the face of the earth.”

She stood remorseless. Stoic, like those words didn't touch her. Like an egg against a rock.

Then Lyra finally spoke.

“What would be your gain in all of these?”

I turned back, on my way to the door.

“You said my gain?” I asked, drifting closer to her and throwing my hands in the air, with smiles on my face. “All these, Lyra, since you are wicked and manipulative to the extent you were sleeping with my man,”

“…That was why I had to act fast. No one shares anything that belongs to me with me. Just the way you shared Jax with— I later found out and did the needful.”

“I had to hire someone to eradicate him for me.”

“I prefer to lose someone like him than share him with someone like you. But to buttress it further,” I paused, “I never really loved Jax. He was just a placeholder. Someone I needed something from, who would take me to my destination.”

I let the words sink in before I burst into another laughter.

“And here I am.”

“You want to be king?”

“No… never.”

“But to be a queen with a king that is well respected, not someone like Jax who is dull, unromantic, and weak.”

I turned to leave.

“Lest I forget, yes, if you want to come and see the most respected witch doctor, diviner, and chief priest we have in this pack, and most respected in the world…”

“You are free,” I said. “He has longed to see you…”

I left the room. My shoes clicked on the floor as I stepped out of the quarters. I glanced back a bit, seeing Lyra looking at me in pity. She nodded her head, like someone having pity for another person, maybe for walking into a trap or something.

I had tucked the photos into my pocket when I stepped into the palace hall.

Alpha Vexhood was still seated the way I left him.

I drifted close to him.

And I gave him the pictures. Alpha Vexhood looked at the pictures—four in number.

I watched him pout his mouth, nodding his head.

“My son would not be back until next month.”

“The king of Alpha Dominion's pack had told me that, the exact time he would release my son, Ryder, to me, to cleanse him of the sin you pushed him to…”

I didn't say anything.

“I will have to hold this position until he is back!” He pointed to the—

“Go and call me the pack announcer. I will tell him to announce me as the king of Stormfang pack until
my son, Alpha Ryder, comes back. I will be functioning as king of Stormfang pack starting from now!”
