Episode 18: Untrusted Movements

Caleb.

Dred was even surprised looking at us because of the way we were gazing at each other.

"Do you both know each other?" Dred asked, but neither of us was ready to answer him as we were both deeply lost in each other's eyes.

"What a safe place for you, Caleb," Ariel said and then walked away then Dred looked at me intently.

"Hey, is everything okay?" Dred asked, and I shook my head.

"Seriously, you need to keep your mouth shut about whatever you saw here, so you won't get yourself into trouble."

"But right now, seeing Ariel here?" I said, looking in the direction she went and took a deep breath.

"We are not safe anymore. Come with me, we need to have a word with Alpha Dan immediately," I said to Dred as we both started heading inside to look for Dan.

How I wish there was a certain place we could just run to and find him instantly, but no!

He could be anywhere. He loves to walk around and take care of his people, but we just have to find him as fast as possible.

While we were running in, I suddenly halted because I remembered something more important.

"What? Are you alright?" Dred asked, concerned, as I was panting heavily.

"Yeah, I'm actually fine, but we have to find Luna Ava right now!" I said, changing my direction and headed towards Ava's room, with Dred joining me.

I know Ava will definitely be in her room. It's either she's in there or she will probably be at the vendor, which is at the back, just after her room.

Do you know why I needed to see her first? It's because that will be Ariel's first target when she gets into this place, to make sure they are dead.

She has failed to complete that mission, and I believe she's still going to try again. She's not going to rest. But I wonder why she's so desperate to kill my baby and my mate.

I think there's something she's definitely not telling us.

Though while Dred and I were heading towards Ava's room, we couldn't get to the room. Instead, we met them on our way.

Then I slowed down and approached her before stopping. "Ava, I hope you're okay? Is there anything..." Before I could finish my sentence, a hot slap landed on my face.

Then I looked at Ava, and there was no smile on her face, nor on Gwen's. I wondered why she slapped me.

Knowing that it must be something serious, I looked at Dred. "Please leave us," I ordered him. He nodded and walked away, finding a spot where he couldn't hear our conversation but was still waiting for me.

"Caleb! You said that you're just here to take me and the baby out of here!" She said.

"Of course, that's..." I was still saying, but she interrupted me again.

"Shut up! You know what you're planning! But I just have to let you know that this is my happiness, and you can't take it away from me!" She yelled at me.

"And I'm going to expose you if you don't tell me what Ariel is doing here," she asked, and then I knew where the issue was coming from.

She thinks it was all my plan to bring Ariel in here, and that's exactly what it would look like to me if I were her.

But she doesn't know that I am surprised too to see Ariel here.

"Seriously, I don't know why you still see me as the devil here!" I said to her.

"Of course, you are, and I won't stop thinking that until you tell me what you're planning! You are something else, Caleb! What's Ariel doing here? I just saw her minutes ago," Ava asked repeatedly and I responded with a loud voice.

"Ava, I saw her too, and I was surprised just like you! I don't know why she's here, I swear! This is what..." I was still saying, but she interrupted me.

"Enough, please! Enough of the lies already! Caleb, what are you planning against me? You know what you're doing."

"You believe that you can achieve whatever it is by feeding my head with lies!" She yelled at me, and I was still attempting to say something, but she continued to interrupt me.

"How can you say that she was a spy that led your pack to its downfall, and you saw her here, yet you couldn't do anything?"

"I didn't see you do anything to her, Caleb. You're lying to me! Both you, Alpha Dan, and the rest of you! I don't understand what the hell is going on!" she said as tears began to flow down from her eyes, which is the one thing that easily melts my heart.

Seeing her cry hurts me so much, but I just don't know why she's failing to understand me! With that, my eyes were also full of tears.

"Caleb, please, can you leave me alone? I have decided to stay away from your life and never approach you again! I have acted like you don't exist. Tell me, why the hell are you still coming after me?" she asked, placing her hand on her chest. Then I approached a little bit.

"Ava, you need to understand that I was hiding my identity here too. Having issues with Ava will definitely reveal who I am, but..." I was still saying but Ava walked away from my presence, and Gwen was the one left with me.

"Gwen, please, can you help me talk to her? I have discovered that you are the only one who can talk to her, and she will understand," I said to Gwen, and she looked at me with a disgusted facial expression.

"I think I'll do that whenever you feel like confessing what you're planning. As for now? Goodbye, Caleb," Gwen said and began to walk away from me.

"Please, hold on! Do not walk away from me, please!" I pleaded, but my plea fell on deaf ears as she joined Ava and left.

Then I was left alone, trying to hold back my tears. The tears were almost falling, but I managed to hold them until Dred approached me.

"Hey! Is everything alright? What's wrong?" He asked, and suddenly the tears I was trying to hold back began to fall from my eyes. I used my left hand to wipe them off.

"It's, It's, it's..." I began to stammer, trying to tell Dred that it was okay, but it was more like the tears were not letting me.

"Hey, calm down and tell me what happened," Dred said, and I looked at him.

"It's fine" I said to him with a somewhat steady voice, and he nodded at me.

"Okay then, if you say so, can we go meet Alpha Dan now? You said we were going to meet him," Dred reminded me.

"You're right, dear, but as it seems now, it's a war we have to fight alone without involving the Alpha. We will win!"
