Chapter 160 Bonus Chapter Two

Chapter 160 Chapter One Hundred and Sixty
FREYA’s POV

The pack house was unusually quiet. Everyone seemed to have disappeared as I climbed up the stairs.

No servant or guard in sight. Not even mama hovering like she used to.

There was no noise coming from Salem's room, and Sage had stepped out to handle whatever shady business she wouldn’t tell me about.

I walked towards my room, but I paused halfway when I heard a soft sound coming from the place I least expected.

I retraced my step and turned towards Leo’s room. The door was pulled shut in the same way it had been for years.

Nobody entered. Except mama when she missed Leo a lot. But she wasn’t at home right now.

And Leo hasn’t returned.

I overheard Mama and Sage speaking. He would return in a week.

The unmistakable sound came from inside again. Louder this time. My fingers palmed the knob, and I twisted it lightly.

The door opened under my light force. The room was silent.

I paused at the entrance, a deep frown on my face. Maybe I’d made a mistake.

I turned to leave when the sound of a door opening behind me ground me to a halt. I looked back, and my body froze.

A naked man was standing across from me, water dripping down his oversized frame. My eyes drank him in, taking in every inch of exposed skin.

My gaze traveled lower, down his toned stomach and…

“Leo didn’t tell me he was sending a girl over.” My cheeks flamed at the clear insinuation, and anger overrode all other emotions.

“I’m not a fucking pleasure slave,” I snarled at him, my eyes lingering on his body even though my brain didn’t want me to, and then I turned away sharply.

But the smug grin on his face told me he’d seen me look away a moment too late.

“Get some fucking clothes on,” I muttered under my breath, and I heard shuffling behind me, and then a rich laughter followed.

“You don’t have to pretend you weren’t enjoying the sight of me.”

“Get over yourself,” I muttered and turned around, grateful to see a towel wrapped around his hips but still slightly distracted by his abs and toned chest.

His shoulders shook with laughter, and I looked up at his face with a scowl.

“You know there’s no harm in appreciating something you like,” he cocked his head to the side, a sly grin on his face.

“Who the fuck are you? And how did you get into the pack house?”

“I should be asking you that. Leo said I’ll be alone.”

“Leo? He’s back?” I asked with a frown. There was no sign of Leo, and he should have come to find us if indeed he was truly back.

I looked back at the strange man, and my frown deepened. He was lying. That was the only reasonable explanation.

“Then where the fuck is he?” I asked, looking around the room.

“Has anyone ever told you you have a potty mouth?” he growled softly as he walked towards me, and I scowled at him.

“It certainly isn’t your place. Now get dressed and get the fuck out of this room before I have the guards drag you out.”

“That won’t be happening, sweetheart,” he taunted.

“Oh, it will. Particularly when my father finds out that a creepy…”

“Don’t finish that.”His expression shifted. From amused to downright pissed. A pleasant expression coursed through me, and the thought that I’d riled him up.

The strange man’s eyes darkened as my lips curved into a slight smile.

I saw him move, but I barely had time to react.

His large body slammed into mine and pressed me against the wall.

“What the fuck are you doing?” I pushed at his huge forearms that kept me pressed into the wall.

Heat burned fiercely between us as his body pressed into mine. A strange feeling unfurled in my stomach, and his expression darkened as he pressed even closer, the hard planes of his body merging with my softness.

My cheeks flamed at my reaction, and the smug smile on his face snapped me out of it.

“Get..off…me,”  I pushed against him, but he ignored me, his fingers tracing a lonely path down my side. I shivered under his touch, and my throat became parched. The sizzling tension buzzed with energy, and I was confused by my body’s reaction.

“That’s how a submissive little pet should behave,” he growled in a low voice, and just like that, the spell was broken.

I pushed with all my strength, and the surprise bit his weight off me. My palm cracked down on his face with a heavy weight, and his head snapped to the side.

A fist came down on the wall beside me as he growled in my face.

“Nobody has ever fucking hit me,” he snarled. I ignored the jitters and pushed at his shoulders.

“And nobody has ever spoken to me without any fucking manners.”

“You’ve been nothing but rude and uncouth since the moment we met.”

“Uncouth is you entering my brother's bedroom and pretending to be his guest.” his eyes narrowed.

“You’re nothing but a filthy guard, and my father will have your balls the moment he learns of your atrocious actions.”

“Then run off and tell him,” he said flatly as he walked to the other side of the room, and I was able to breathe easily. I took in the relaxed expression ok his face.

There was no hint of fear as I threatened to report him to my father, which was unusual because guards tend to react in the opposite way at the mention of my father.

“You won’t be so smug when he learns of your actions,” I growled and stormed off, eager to find my father and let him know of the audacious guard. I’d give anything to have that stupid smug look wiped off his face.

“Freya,” I ground to a halt at the sound of my name. Sage was running up the stairs, excitement written over her face as she breathed heavily.

“What’s wrong?”

“Come, there’s someone I’d like you to meet,” she tugged at my hands with urgency.

“Who is that?”

“You’ll see. And why are you so red in the face?”

“It’s the…”

“Never mind,” she cut me off and pulled me harder.

“You’ll see,” I followed her down the stairs, walking fast to catch up with her pace.

Mama and Papa were on the grounds with a red-faced Salem and…

“Leo?” I squeaked as I recognized my brother. I flew down the front stairs and into his arms.

Leo caught me in the air, twirling me as I let out a joyous cry.

I’d missed him so much.

“You’ve grown so well, Freya,” he cupped my face, and I smiled happily.

“When did you get back? Where…” I paused. If he was truly back then, that man…

“Freya, look,” Sage's voice came from behind me, and I turned around, and my heart froze at the sight of the man beside Sage.

“Meet Silas, my intended mate.”
