Chapter 245 The Warning and The Invitation

Chapter 245 The Warning and The Invitation
Thorin was extremely angry because everyone listened to him; everyone bowed to him but not Maeve Arrendale. She kept defying and running away from him. Not for once did she show her face. She was not even there for the introduction meeting.
He walked into his cabin and screamed in the back of his mind, “Who the hell does she think she is? She is making me wait. Does she not know who I am? So, what, she broke my record? The day she comes before me, I will show her who’s the boss!!” Thorin gripped the armrest of his chair tightly in anger.
Corvin immediately sniggered. “And why are you laughing?” Both Thorin and Vespera asked simultaneously.
“Nothing! I am just laughing, thinking about how hard the exam was. Why didn’t anyone pass?” lied Corvin and winked at Thorin. Thorin knew Corvin read his mind when he was fuming in anger at Maeve. He wanted to snap at Corvin for always residing inside his mind, but Vespera was right there. “Let me see the code,” said Corvin.
Thorin finally smiled. He was going to humiliate Corvin for constantly reading his mind. “Oh! You want to take the test?” asked Thorin in a condescending tone.
“Let’s see how hard a test you have designed,” said Corvin, sat down and started working the problem. Even after hours, he could not make it work. “What the hell have you done?” he shouted.
Thorin just stood there smirking like an idiot. “I am bored. Why am I even here? Let’s go home!” shouted Vespera.
“You can spend your days with HR from tomorrow. You see how boring all this is. And you can keep working on your party. What say?” asked Thorin.
“You are right! That will be way better than this,” Vespera rolled her eyes.
“Then let’s go!” smiled Thorin, shut off all the systems, grabbed his hard disk, and they left the office. Before getting into the car, Thorin looked back and sighed, “I really want someone to pass this exam. Must be someone who can figure out what I am hiding. That is the only way I can find Ozul. He has been hiding since before I was born. I need someone who can see and find the hidden facts. What am I going to do if no one can find it? I will have to look at our other IT firms. But I don’t want to go away from here. She is here, I have to find her too. Eve! Where are you?”
That night, Vespera kept talking to Isara to prepare for the party. They brainstormed, and finally a plan was finalised. Vespera informed Isara what they needed for a successful party and assured that they would discuss everything in detail in the morning. She was so busy talking over the phone, sending emails and discussing everything that she didn’t even talk to Thorin and Corvin, and while eating, she kept working.
The next morning, Thorin again got everything ready for the test, and one by one, four seniors were called to take the test. Again, Thorin felt the familiar smell but faintly, and he knew that Eve again came to the office and then ran away. His anger was climbing a notch up now.
“You assured me, you promised me that she would be here. Does she not respect her seniors? Does she not respect her bosses? What kind of operation are you running here? Anyone is free to go anywhere, anytime they want? If your previous project is important, my future projects are important too. Where is she? If she does not come here by tomorrow, I will fire this whole office and shut it down. am I clear?” roared Thorin.
“Shit!” Thessia was extremely worried. Her mouth stopped working. Her knees were shaking with fear. If not for sitting in a chair, she would have fallen down.
“But Thorin! What about my party?” Vespera was hurt. Tears pooled in her eyes. Thorin sighed loudly and calmed himself down after looking at her sad face.
“Okay!” Thorin took a deep breath. “Ms Morwen! Vespera will forward you an invitation. You have to send it to every single person in the office. Attendance is mandatory. If anyone avoids the party, they don’t need to come back to work from the next day. Vespera! Tell her everything.”
Vespera wiped her tears and finally smiled. “Ms Morwen! Ms Isara Thornwolf and I have prepared everything. We have booked the Kaveri Grand Hall. Every detail about the party will be written on the invitation card. Still, I am telling you that the party will start at 7 pm and it will be a masquerade ball. The theme will be a royal ball. Everyone has to dress accordingly. I know none of the employees owns a royal dress, so if they have to rent one, we will reimburse them if they submit a bill. The masks will be provided to them at the entrance. They just have to come with the invitation card. You know Thorin is here, and we must not compromise on his security.”
“With all due respect, ma’am, if the invitation is sent by you or Mr Blackridge, that will be more impactful. I will make sure that Isara also sends everyone a mail that the attendance will be mandatory and that everyone comes to the party,” said Thessia, carefully.
“Ohh my! You are so right. I didn’t think like that. I will make Thorin send an email to everyone. Could you help me with email IDs?” asked Vespera.
“I will ask Isara to provide you with the same,” smiled Thessia.
“Are you sure everyone will come?” Thorin raised his eyebrow at Thessia. She knew what he was asking about, who he was asking about.
“Yes, sir! Even if she is at the end of the earth, she will be here at the party,” replied Thessia with determination.
“Then let the tests begin,” announced Thorin.
All four seniors tried their best that day, but they failed. No matter what they did, they could not figure out what was wrong with their code and why nothing was working after executing the code. While everyone was giving the test, Thessia kept gritting her teeth. She knew Maeve was not the one to run away from work, and she was not running. In fact, she was working hard to make one client understand her work. But why was she avoiding coming to the office?
All the other times, she had called the client to the office. But this time, she was going away from the office, even calling her team to the venue the client had fixed. Why was she changing everything now?
When everyone failed that day, Thessia stormed into Maeve’s team office and walked near Vella, fuming in anger. “What the hell is going on? Why is she making us look like fools?”
