Chapter 284 Finally, It's My Wedding Day
Chapter 284 Finally, It's My Wedding Day
YELENA
All threats and constant fear felt like a distant memory now.
The chaos had finally cleared just in time for my wedding day.
Selene had been brought to our pack's holding cells two days ago. Hearing that she was found guilty and sentenced to jail felt like a heavy weight being lifted off my shoulders.
I still couldn’t wrap my head around it, honestly. I kept wondering why she was so obsessed with taking my life when I had never done a single thing to hurt her.
I guess being the best doctor, holding a position higher than hers, was enough to make her bitter but how that was ever my fault, I would never understand.
"Hmm!" I let out a soft groan as the woman pinning my gown tightened the corset.
It snapped me back to the present.
She caught my eye in the mirror, her expression worried. "Was that too tight, Luna?"
I looked at my reflection and truly took it all in. The makeup was soft, my hair was pinned perfectly, and the dress... it was everything I had imagined. I felt a glow from deep within, and I smiled, shaking my head at her. "No, it’s not too tight. It’s perfect."
It felt surreal.
I was actually marrying the same man for the second time, but this time, it felt like the start of a much deeper journey.
"Yes, it is absolutely perfect," I heard Vivianne’s voice ring out as she stepped into the room.
A moment later, I caught the familiar, comforting scent of my best friend.
"So perfect," Nyra added, stepping in front of me to look me over. Her eyes softened. "You look stunning, Lena."
I looked at them, and they looked just as radiant in their bridesmaid dresses. "You both look gorgeous too," I told them, feeling grateful to have them by my side.
Vivianne checked her watch and gave a little nudge. "I hope you’re almost ready because they’ll be calling for you any second now."
The lady helping me gave a final nod. "We’re all set."
Right then, a familiar, deep voice echoed from the hallway. "I’m here to take the bride."
My wolf, tucked away in my mind, stood up and began pacing, her tail wagging with pure excitement.
I turned to see my dad standing at the doorway, looking incredibly handsome in his suit.
My eyes stung with tears of joy, but I held them back, blinking rapidly. I remembered the makeup artist’s strict warning about not shedding a single tear. I didn't want to ruin the look, not when I felt this happy.
My friends gathered around me, and I reached out to take my father’s arm. His grip was steady and warm.
Behind us, the bridesmaids lined up with their men.
I saw Marie and Daniel looking at each other with such love, followed by Evelyn and Simeon, and Nyra walking closely with Jackson.
Then there was Vivianne.
She was walking alone, since she told me her husband hadn't been able to make it.
She was playfully tossing flower petals, laughing as she did, until a strong hand reached out and caught hers, steadying her.
I couldn't see who it was from behind, but the way she beamed made me wonder.
We reached the heavy doors of the hall.
The air inside hummed with anticipation. When the doors swung open, the scent of a hundred different wolves hit me... the pack members, my mother, my colleagues, and all the people who mattered most.
They all turned in unison to look toward us.
To look at the bride.
To look at me.
A collective hush fell over the room as we began the slow walk down the aisle.
Everyone stood up, their eyes tracking my every movement until I finally stood before my husband.
Tristan looked overwhelmed, his eyes shimmering with tears he wasn't even trying to hide.
My father stopped in front of him, facing the elder who was officiating the ceremony. "I am giving her to you once more," my father said, his voice thick with emotion. "And this time, let it be forever."
Tristan reached out, taking my hand gently but firmly. He nodded at my father, a silent promise exchanged between them, before my father stepped back to take his seat.
The room settled into a comfortable silence. I looked at Tristan, and he squeezed my hand, grounding me as he always did.
The elder cleared his throat and began, his voice booming through the hall. "We are gathered here to join the Alpha and the Luna of the Blue Moon Pack in union. May the moon bless this reunion."
A chorus of cheers and soft howls filled the air.
My gaze drifted to the front row, finding my mother’s face. She looked so happy, holding little Tyla in her arms.
Surprisingly, Tyla wasn't asleep; her wide, curious eyes were fixed on us, as if she truly understood the gravity of the moment.
The elder turned his attention to me. "Yelena Moonrack, are you ready to become the wife of Alpha Tristan and the Luna of this pack?"
I looked deep into Tristan’s eyes, seeing my entire future reflected there. "Yes, I am ready," I said, my voice steady.
The elder turned to him. "Alpha Tristan, are you ready to become the husband of Miss Moonrack and the protector of your Luna?"
Tristan didn’t hesitate for a second. "Yes, I am always ready."
The room erupted in applause. People were clapping, cheering, and stomping their feet in that wild, wolf-pack way.
"Now, it is time to bind the bond," the elder said. He produced a small, silver blade. He carefully pierced my palm, then Tristan’s.
The blood welled up, red and bright against our skin, but the moment we pressed our palms together, a surge of warmth, an electric shock that felt like coming home raced through my veins.
By the time we pulled away, the small wounds had already knit themselves closed, leaving nothing but a faint tingle behind.
Tristan pulled me close, his arm wrapping securely around my waist. "Are you okay?" he whispered, his voice low and intimate amidst the noise.
I looked up at him and smiled, feeling lighter than air. "I am."
Suddenly, he turned to the crowd and raised our joined hands high into the air.
"Greetings to the Luna of our pack!" he shouted, his Alpha voice resonant and proud.
I couldn't help but laugh as the hall shook with the response. "Greetings to the Luna of our pack!" the entire crowd roared back.
As the cheering continued, I scanned the room, soaking in the sight of my life coming together.
I saw Jackson beaming, his eyes bright. My gaze shifted further, finding Vivianne in the crowd. She was standing next to a man I hadn't expected to see here.
My jaw almost dropped. It was Alpha Loren.
Was he her husband? And he had actually come for her, right there in the middle of our pack ceremony? I caught Vivianne’s eye, and she just gave me a secret, triumphant wink.
