CHAPTER 25

Remember when Jayla said that she was going to do a prank on Max.

Here she is with Giovanni and Peyton, planning the ultimate plan.

Max and Jayla came back to the pack house, it took a while since Tanner begged Max to not go.

"We should maybe do this,” Peyton suggested, pointing to the other plan he proposed but none of them thought that it was great.

"Dude, that's not original! We need something big!" Giovanni said dramatically.

Jayla wondered if should tell them about the pic of him, wearing lipstick. Regardless, she shouldn't because she could use it for something better.

"I have an idea." She smirked.

"Hey, guys, what's up with those freaky looks?" Cole frowned as he walked in the kitchen looking at Jayla, Giovanni and Peyton smiling mischievously.

"It's none of your concern!" Giovanni snapped and Cole shivered.

"Calm down, bro,” he muttered.

"Where is Max?" Jayla asked and Cole pointed upstairs, she gets upstairs and knocked on the door.

"You can come here, baby." Max replied softly through the door.

Jayla gasped; how could he know that it was her behind the door?

She opened the door and saw Max, packing files while glancing at them with his hot-sexy glasses.

"Sit,” he said without looking at her. She sat down on the chair and stared at his movements.

He was wearing a white, crispy shirt and black pants, meaning that he was in a meeting. He looked tensed and wanted to rest.

"Do you want me to massage you?” she asked, and he nodded.

She stood up and went behind him, she flexed her hands and started to push down his shoulders. He stopped moving his papers and leaned back on his chair.

"Fuck,” he groaned and rolled his shoulders, she smiled and put some pressure on his shoulders.

"It feels amazing."

"I know right, my father taught me,” she said proudly.

"I thought your father was a lazy fat ass?" He mocked and she slapped the back of his head.

"What the fuck?" She yelled.

"Not my words, you said that." He turned his head toward her and glared at her.

She remembered calling him lazy fat ass when she heard her mum through the phone saying that he was chilling in the hotel room for hours instead of visiting Paris.

"It's because of his old age." She defended herself.

"Right." He sighed and let her do the work.

"Baby, take off my glasses,” he ordered, and she rolled her eyes, taking off his glasses.

Then he suddenly pulled her in his lap and cupped her cheek.

"I can't believe you!" She screamed.

"Stop screaming,” he muttered, and he pushed her hair behind her back.

"Why should I stop screaming? Han?" She shouted.

"Then try to scream,” he said with a smirk and pushed his lips against hers, she moaned and kissed him back. He held her back, pushing her close to his chest and kissed her roughly. He grabbed her ass tightly making her gasp, he quickly entered his tongue in her mouth.

They were having a hot make-out session.

He let go of her mouth, hearing her relentless breathing.

"Did it do the trick?" He smirked and she blushed.

There was a knock on the door, Max felt his head of the warrior. He let go of his mate, she stands beside him, with a puzzled face.

"Come in,” Max said, rubbing his red soft lips.

The head warriors come in, with a military stance. He saluted the alpha and stand straight looking at the wall.

Jayla widened her eyes; she was shocked that a man a lot of respect for Max but then he was going to be the future king.

"Stand down,” Max said, and the head of warriors sighed.

"Jayla, I want you to meet the head of warriors, Artaxerxes." He introduced him to her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Luna Jayla,” he said, bowing for her. She gulped and smiled shyly.

"Me too, Artaxerxes." The man widened his eyes and looked at his Luna. Max glared at him, and Artaxerxes snapped out of his thoughts.

"Right, the two rogues demanded to see you." He cleared his throat.

"Why are they asking you to see me? Didn't they learn their lessons?" Max growled and stood up.

"Should I torture them again?" Artaxerxes asked.

"Not now, after I will have a talk with them,” he said, putting on his blazer that was on his table.

Jayla was confused, she only knew that there were two rogues, maybe it was the two rogues that she met.

"Is it Eglantine and Piper?” she asked them, Artaxerxes looked at his alpha who was at staring at her, emotionless.

"I should leave,” he said and left the office.

"Yes, it's those two rogues who attacked you,” he gritted in between his teeth.

"Can I see them?"

"What? No fucking way!" He yelled.

"Why not?"

"Because you can't see your attackers,” he growled.

"They should say sorry to me, not to you,” she said, frowning.

"It doesn't matter, I held them down there for personal reasons,” he argued.

"But you shouldn't treat werewolves like this." She whimpered.

He snarled and walked toward her, holding the back of her neck, to see him better.

"Listen carefully Jayla, they are not werewolves, they are rogues, they don't belong to our world. That's why we have to kill them,” he snapped, spitting with disgust the word rogues.

"Now be a good girl and don't bother me,” he ordered and went out of the office, leaving her alone.

She didn't know why but she felt like he insulted her, in a different way. As if something inside her wanted to scold him and tell him that rogues are werewolves just like them.

She felt like she belonged with them, she wanted to protect them.

And this is why Jayla had this stupid idea that would probably cost her mate anger. Which she will regret it.

***

"I'm doomed, I'm doomed." She chanted as she walked down the hall, trying to find the path.

Everyone was sleeping except her mate and warriors who are working, mostly planning something that she doesn't know.

She took the chance to explore the underground, she asked Keaton for help since he wasn't in this pack which means he isn't that loyal to Max unlike others and besides he's Jayla bodyguard.

"Are you serious, Jayla?" Keaton asked loudly.

"Yes, I'm sure, I just need you to distract the guards,” she hissed.

"You are lucky that I'm not from this pack,” he groaned.

"I know that already." She winked at him.

"I can do this." She took a deep breath and opened the wall that Keaton instructed her, the wall opened itself. She gaped at the wall, saw spiral stairs.

She walked down the stairs with slow steps, as soon as she stepped down the last stairs. She gasped at the view.

There was a large gate, iron bars. Keaton was behind the iron bars, twirling the keys in his fingers with two beside me, paralyzed.

"I told you to distract them not to knocked them out,” she said looking at the guard, painfully.

"They were too suspicious about me." He shrugged and opened the door for her.

"Weren't you supposed to be loyal to him?” she asked while they are walking in the hall.

"I was sick when the Alpha gave an oath to them and Alpha Max forgot about it, beside I'm only a third of command in my pack, not the beta,” he said, still playing with the keys.

"Sneaky Keaton,” she chuckled and shoved him playfully.

"I'm serious though." He laughed as they reached the last tunnel.

"This is the D4 hall, where most rogues are. I think this is where your friends are," Keaton said, pulling the gate.

"Thank you." She smiled and went inside the hall.

"Be careful and don't even look at those rogues, most of them are dangerous." He warned and she nodded.

He stood down next to the gate while she walked down the hall, looking for cell 56.

She let her down, avoiding the stares from rogues, some of them are nice and showed adoration which she didn't understand.

"OUR QUEEN!" Someone yelled making her widened her eyes, she didn't want to catch any suspicious looks, so she went over to the person who yelled and hushed him, "Please stop yelling!" She hissed.

"Are you here to save us?” he asked, the man was wearing a dirty shirt and pants. The condition here was miserable and disgusting. Nobody should be treated like that.

"I didn't know that it was the Dark Knight’s pack. Please help us!" he begged, holding her sleeve.

"Equinoctial!" A powerful voice shouted, and no words came out of the prisoner. Jayla walked toward the familiar voice.

"Eglantine, Piper,” she breathed as she looked at them, chained against the wall.

"I'm glad you remembered our names." Eglantine sent her a weak smile, and she gave a soft smile to Piper, who breathed in relief.

"I'm sorry,” she said with a sad smile.

"It's okay, it's not your fault," Piper said softly. She smiled and came forward, taking out a water bottle and cookies.

"I think the guards don't give you enough food,” she said, helping them eat.

"Thank you, my queen." Piper bowed respectfully. Eglantine did too.

"Don't do this, you can be hurt,” she said. She learned that werewolves are really sensitive to silver.

"Why are you helping us?" Eglantine asked after eating and drinking.

"Who knows,” she said looking at the ground. She didn't feel an ounce of guilt. She was happy that a man was helping her, that she was helping them.

"I felt like it, I don't like how they treat you,” she said after making up an answer.

"That's our true queen." Piper grinned.

She let him go away, she didn't want to reply to his statement. She felt like their queen.

"Anyway, I will come here again,” she said standing up.

"I will try to get you guys out of here."

"Of course, you have to come with us." Eglantine said.

"I can't come with you guys!" She frowned.

"You don't belong here my queen, you belong to our territory." Piper started.

"You can't leave your duty." Eglantine continued.

"Look I don't know how I am your queen. I need some time and I think you’ve got the wrong person,” she sighed.

"No, you are our queen, your mate is brainwashing you or maybe someone brainwashed?" Piper asked himself.

"I did this because I wanted to, I don't like how they treated you and I don't care the consequences that I will have but please keep in mind that I will free you guys,” she said as a matter of fact and then leave their cell without forgetting to lock the door.

She was telling them the opposite of what is she thinking, she knows that what they are saying is true. But how can she be their queen and most importantly how the fuck is she a werewolf?

Did her parents hide the fact of her being a werewolf?

Is it really her parents or is she adopted?

She always has tan skin while her brother and her parents have fair skin but then she didn't care since her aunt also have tan skin.

"Jayla, this is bad." Keaton screamed running toward her.

"What happened?" She said panicked.

"They found us."

"What?"

"Max is going to be here in a minute." Keaton hissed.

"Shit." She cursed and paced back and forth around the tunnel. She looked at the ceiling and see a little door.

She was dead, she couldn't let anyone get punished again just because it was her fault.

She can't let innocents get her punishment.

She needed to find a way.

And quick.
