Alpha Hades
(Broken Collar)
Talitha's pregnancy grew bigger and bigger that it took great difficulty for her to walk or perform her daily pregnancy exercises advised by the healer who checks on the slightest of things from time to time. We wanted the pregnancy not to accompany complications considering how hard it is to birth a Wolves child.
Time seemed to slow down. I couldn't wait to hold my child in my arms and hope she gives birth safely.
Today I scheduled an important meeting in court and was already seated with top Alpha's from the strongest packs of the world.
“Bring her in.” I flicked my fingers and the guards spread the door open leading her in with a golden blindfold on her face. I licked my lips at the sight of her despite being heavily pregnant. I desired her like a Maniac.
The golden dress flowed beautifully as she walked with the eloquence of a queen. It was a matter of time before that happened but for now let the suspense begin. I sent the maids to get her prepared without her knowledge on the matter at hand. Surprises that's what I expect to see.
“Get off her blinds.”
“Hades?” She started in surprise looking around the room with over hundred of Alpha's who locked their lustful gazes on an heavily pregnant woman of the king. I couldn't blame them. She was a distracting sight to behold but meant only for my eyes.
I rise from my throne walking to her while I raise my hand to her forehead rubbing a finger at the spot. “Today I set you free Talitha from a slave to a free woman from weak to strong to be seen as exalted than low.” I snapped the collar around her neck breaking it free slamming it to the floor with wild gasps from the Alphas ringing in the hall.
“I sent for you all to witness this day as the ruler of the kingdom of Arni and the Alpha of the biggest pack I terminate the hunting, killing and predatory meted out to the Witches. Any packs found violating this order has automatically drawn the drums of war and war shall it be.”
There were murmurs from the greedy Alphas who couldn't digest not leeching off the Witches.
“Bring them in!” I paid no heed to the disgruntled greedy Alphas and the door presents the women that had me troubled for months hoping one day I fulfil my biggest atonement.
“Talitha!”
Talitha turns around, almost snapping her neck with the sudden neck movement as one of the women who called her name runs into her arms but stops before she clashes with the baby bump.
“Diana? How are you alive? I saw you get kil-led?” Talitha stuttered as a tear rolled down her cheek running her hands in disbelief over the lady's face.
“I thought so too but I was rescued and nursed back to health by a kind Samaritan who couldn't be here. I got better with time and found our sisters and so good none of us got killed until.” Diana shivers as she locks her gaze with me. The look of dread mixed with hate glistened in her odd colored eyes. She glared hard at me before switching to Talitha. “He sent his soldiers to find us and again our lives were difficult once again. Any place we found the soldiers got to find out and we kept escaping them until we got caught this time instead of the usual they claimed their Alpha seeks to meet us all in court.”
“He…”
“Welcome Diana and your sisters we can continue the conversation in the royal dining shall we?”
I cut off her speech. I ruined their lives by my actions in the past and to rectify it should be me.
Talitha held her hand taking her to the route followed by the sisters who couldn't stop gushing and trying to touch her. They adored her and I saw how a happy spark ignited in her presence. This woman got starved emotionally of her Clan and still kept her head above water. I don't know what I would have done in her situation, the strongest woman I know.

I left the Alphas in court after finalising the meeting with stamps of authority which every one of them left with. They had no options, no one dared to stand against my verdict. I set a large feast without Talitha knowing it when a scroll came the Witches were found.
Friendship. I was rendering the long hand of friendship even though it won't be easy at first but I'm ready to try it all till I get it right.
They were all seated staring at the large banquet with curiosity when I walked.
“Don’t worry, have your seats.” I peered at the untouched meal and back at them. “The banquet was set in anticipation of you people so why not dig in?”
“I rather starve to death than taste a drop of water from your hands!” Diana spat.
“Diana he doesn't have a knife to your throat if you don't want to eat but don't impose your choices on others. I'm sure they're hungry from the long journey and some refreshments would do.” Talitha cuts through with a bossy voice. I've never heard her speak that way before but what do I expect from a head witch?
“Are you taking sides with the enemy? I can see your large yummy and he's responsible. If I was told you would betray us for a slice of pleasure I would have sworn against it but here you support a man from the Clan who kills and exploits your kind.” Diana retorts, burning with rage. Her hands fisted at her sides and I could guess the amount of things running through her mind.
If given the chance she would tsir my life without a second thought and in sincerity I couldn't blame her. Her anger is justifiable and just like Talitha soon I'll have her and every Witch sing my praises.
“Give him a chance and trust him to fix…”
“I'd rather die!” She half yelled and broke into a sob jetting from the table and out of the room.
“No, she will come around. I can't risk you getting into a mouth fight with her, your condition is delicate.” I stopped her from going after Diana.
“Okay.” She relaxes back into her seat with a sigh.
I face the rest of the women staring wide eyed at the raging drama. “I apologise for the scene. It's my fault and it won't repeat itself but before anything I have to say can we have our meals?”
They still stared at me with uncertainty to touch the food like it was poisoned or a trap. They couldn't trust Talitha anymore seeing her condition and her alignment with me. Getting them to forgive and feel free seemed harder than I thought.
Talitha picks her spoons and goes for the hot brewing soup like a cult following the rest of the sisters picks up their spoons and slips it into their lips when she drinks the soup.
I tore my eyes away from them to the meal before me giving them their stolen privacy, most won't want to be at the same table with me but they lacked the balls like Diana.
I have a new task in getting Diana on my side and by doing so half of the work is done. I would investigate the other packs on witch hunting. A few packs can disobey but not under my watch they'll pay and grow distinct. Destruction was freely dancing on my fingertips for defaulters.
The banquet went better than I expected and we ran out of time calling onto sleeping hours. I let the guards lead them to their respective chambers. A thousand luxurious rooms scattered around the Castle.
“I apologise for Diana's behaviour. She really isn't that bitter, yes stubborn and hot headed but not vile. She got stabbed repeatedly and left to die when she tried to save me.” Talitha explains after getting changed into a simple free cotton gown as we laid in bed with legs clocked in lock.
“The incident at the table wasn't your fault, trust me. I understand what it feels like it's best she lets out her pain for healing.” My lips scratched her bottom lip placing a soft kiss as I peered to look at her beautiful face. Pregnancy seems easy with her no constant complaint on waist aches, massages or swellings she keeps them to herself, “Diana will be accosted to her chambers for the night I instructed a guard to lead her and serve her meal separately.”
“Thank you.” she whispered her eyes winding down to sleep.
“No, I should be the one thanking you.” My lips brushed against her lips sliding to her cheek and then her forehead. I hoped to hear a response so I looked up to see her eyes closed in sleep. A smile found its way to my lips.
She brings the best in me.
