We made our way to the dance floor, and I felt a bit nervous because I had no idea how to do it. Hunter patiently guided me, moving to the rhythm of the music. I followed him, trying to imitate him, but soon realized it was harder than it looked.
Our movements were awkward, and I couldn't help but laugh at the situation. Hunter laughed too, and it made me feel more at ease. With each misstep and stumble, our dance became more of a mess, but we were having fun together.
I held Hunter's hand a bit tighter and looked into his familiar golden eyes. “It's better to be terrible at dancing with you than good alone.”
He smiled and pulled me closer. “I agree, Fierce. And don't worry; you're doing much better than I expected.”
We danced together on that dance floor, our movements clumsy but filled with fun. It was a moment of camaraderie and joy that I wouldn't trade for anything.
The dance floor was filled with people, all sharing the same joy and energy. I felt like a part of that world, of that moment. The curious and surprised looks of other bar-goers no longer bothered me. I was having fun, and that's what mattered.
Then, the music changed, becoming slower and more melodic. Hunter pulled me closer to his body, his intense gaze meeting mine. He whispered, almost like a promise, “This song requires closer contact.”
I agreed, feeling my heart race as we started dancing to the slow music. My hands timidly rested on Hunter's broad shoulders, while his hands held my waist firmly but gently. We were so close that I could feel his warm breath on my face.
I tried to control my feelings, my platonic love for Hunter burning in my chest. His lips were dangerously close to mine, and a part of me deeply wished to touch them. I didn't understand what was happening, or why I felt this way, but it was impossible to ignore the attraction I felt for him.
Hunter noticed my hesitant gaze and smiled, his eyes sparkling with intensity. He seemed to understand my internal struggles. “Are you okay, Fierce?”
I smiled awkwardly, unable to speak. The music filled the surrounding space, and I felt enveloped by his presence. Our faces were dangerously close, and the temptation was overwhelming.
Then, I looked around and saw Caleb dancing with a human woman. Their lips were softly touching. A wave of confusion coursed through my body. “What are they doing, Hunter?”
Hunter looked in Caleb and the woman's direction, his eyes filled with understanding. “That's a kiss, Fierce. Humans often do it during a dance.”
I furrowed my brow, trying to understand. “A kiss? But what is a kiss?”
Hunter sighed gently, as if considering how to explain it to me. “A kiss is a gesture of affection and tenderness. It usually involves touching your lips to someone else's lips.”
My heart skipped a beat, and a wave of curiosity and desire washed over me. I didn't know why, but suddenly, I wanted to experience a kiss too. “I want to do that.”
Hunter frowned, seeming a bit reluctant. “Fierce, it's not as cool as it sounds. It's an intimate gesture, and we shouldn't take it lightly.”
I nodded, determined to follow my instincts. “Even so, I want to.”
I smiled, determined to experience everything the human world had to offer, even if it wasn't “as cool.” Hunter approached me, and I could feel his warm breath against my lips. I closed my eyes and leaned in towards him, our lips touching softly.
The sensation was overwhelming. I could feel everything at once: the warmth of his lips, the taste of his breath, the electricity that seemed to flow between us. It was as if the world around us disappeared, and only the two of us existed at that moment.
When the music finally came to an end, Hunter pulled away slightly, but his hands remained on my waist. I knew he had felt the same way I did. It was a connection I could never have imagined.
He smiled and said, with a playful tone, “Fierce, you and your feet survived the first dance with me.”
I smiled, still feeling the electricity of that kiss and the warmth of his arms around me. “I think I did quite well.”
I was about to give Hunter another kiss, feeling the electricity between us intensify, when Caleb and the other werewolves suddenly approached.
Caleb, with a mischievous smile on his lips, asked with a curious air, “Did you enjoy it, Fierce?”
My eyes met his, and for a moment, I was at a loss for words. “What are you talking about?” I asked.
Caleb laughed, as if finding the situation hilarious. “The kiss, Fierce. Did you enjoy it?”
I looked at Hunter, who seemed a bit embarrassed but didn't say anything. What could I say? It was a complex situation, and my feelings were in turmoil.
I swallowed, feeling embarrassed. “It was... nice,” I admitted, looking at Hunter, who seemed just as embarrassed as I was.
Caleb raised an eyebrow, his expression full of disdain. “Nice? Fierce's first kiss should have been memorable.”
Before Hunter or I could respond, Caleb pulled me towards him and took my lips, taking me by surprise. He kissed me, but I didn't feel anything. It was as if his kiss was empty, lacking the same intensity and desire I had experienced with Hunter.
Hunter intervened, pushing Caleb away firmly. “It's not like this, Caleb.”
Caleb looked at Hunter with challenge, ignoring my bewildered gaze. “And do you think you can do better?”
Hunter hesitated for a moment, his gaze focused on me. “It's not about doing better. You can't just kiss her forcefully.”
Caleb looked at me, still smiling with disdain. “So, Fierce, how did you like my kiss?”
I looked at him, still surprised by the unexpected kiss. “I hardly felt anything, Caleb.”
Jeff, another werewolf who was standing next to Caleb, joined the conversation. “Well, if Fierce didn't feel anything with Caleb's kiss, maybe she wants to try with me.”
Hunter firmly held Jeff's shoulder, his voice authoritative. “No, Jeff. That's not how things work.”
The other werewolves seemed confused, but Hunter stood his ground. He looked at me, his eyes filled with concern. “Fierce, you don't need to kiss everyone on the same night. Only if you want to.”
I stared at Hunter and then at the other guys, and my voice sounded firm. “I've had enough kissing experiences for one night.”
Caleb looked at Hunter and asked, “What else do you want to do, then?”
Hunter thought for a moment. “I think it's better if we head back to the hut and rest. Tomorrow, we'll have to pretend we never left the forest.”
Caleb agreed, but before leaving, he added, “I'll just grab a girl to accompany us.”
I watched as Caleb walked away to fulfill his task, and then I turned to Hunter. “Thank you for protecting me,” I said to him.
He smiled, his eyes softening. “Always, Fierce. You'll always be safe with me.”
