Beyond Formidable

TALIA'S POV

"He didn't come here." The stupid luna repeats the same answer for the third time and I finally run out of patience.

She is visibly trembling with fear yet she keeps on uttering lies. She blinks countless times, bites her lips and takes minutes to think over answers that she could just reply with a yes or no.

She is another annoying vixen just like Evan's mother. No matter how much resolve you have people like her will always push your rage to its peak. Causing them pain seems to be the only way of forcing them to think like they have human brains.

Her husband and beta stand metres away with a massive group of soldiers that the Luna was addressing before we walked in. They all watch us question her with terrified expressions, each too afraid to object to our actions.

We got informed that her soldiers have been searching for my sister before we walked in here and interrupted her little meeting.

No one dared stop us as I grabbed her by the collar and pulled her away from the rest of the crowd. Her husband halted in his tracks when Evan walked into the small meeting hall behind me. His glare alone was enough to make the smaller man cower back.

He ordered them to stay back and they grudgingly obeyed. They will however be forced to attack if it becomes clear that we are going to hurt her. She is their Luna and they have an obligation to protect her. But the last time we showed up they all fled. I have a feeling that they are not that loyal to her.

"You have one last chance, to tell the truth, or I will make you scream out every word you know!" I hiss, meaning every word.

She finally gains the courage to glare at me. "You two think you can show up whenever you want and demand whatever you want just because you have powers? You freed all my slaves and humiliated me in front of people that are beneath me. I am tired of being afraid of you! Lay a hand on me and my army will attack!" She yells the last words out loud so every one of the soldiers can hear.

They murmur amongst themselves and I hear that their opinions are divided. While some want to protect their Queen others think that she brought this on herself and this isn't a war they should fight for her. We are not afraid of them attacking, any of us can easily handle them. Hurting anyone apart from her wasn't part of our plan though. Hopefully, they will be wise enough to stay back because my mate kind of lacks the virtual of forgiveness, he will ruthlessly wreck you once you have given him a reason to.

"You should have stayed away from my family if you didn't want us showing up in your palace. But it sounds like you wanted a war, now got one!" I snap.

Her body quivers but it's like she is determined to really piss us off.

"I really regret not having cut your mother's head off the day she was sold to me. Perhaps then I wouldn't be seeing your beautiful, arrogant faces in my palace." She mutters with an expression of pure disgust. "It must be infuriating to finally see someone stand up to your underserved powers. Are they at all enough to fight these soldiers? I think you managed to bite more than you can chew this time." She says and laughs insanely.

"Okay, let's see if we did?" I look down at her long legs and choose to magnify the heat inside the left one. I make it intense so that the excruciating pain can force her to rethink her stand.

She lets out an earsplitting scream and falls to the floor, grasping her burning leg. Her husband and half of the soldiers lunge forward, some shifting into their wolf form before charging forward.

Some hesitate to move, either afraid or unsure if it's the right thing to do. But the group that has moved forward to attack and protect their Luna is quite huge. Not enough to harm any of us though.

I see my mate's eyes narrow as if he is concentrating hard on something. Then a wall of pure ice appears in front of us, stopping the whole army of werewolves in their tracks. I forget about the screaming Luna for a moment and gape up at him.

He looks back at me with a smile and winks. I am too shocked to smile back. The Luna's husband, her beta and soldiers on the other side of the transparent wall cower back, their mouths wide open.

I understand that he didn't gain more powers than he already had, he only lowered the temperatures of the air that was in front of us to a point that it turned into a wall of ice. I am still dumbfounded because it's hard to believe what he did is even possible. I now see why everyone feels intimidated by our powers, we are beyond formidable.

He turns away from the wall of ice he created and walks back to us. The Luna who had dared us to lay a hand on her now creeps backwards, panting with fear.

I already gave her a taste of the pain she had challenged us to dare cause her and it looks like she learned her lesson. She however seems more afraid of Evan than me. He just made a thick wall of ice out of pure air after all.

"Are you still determined to keep hiding the answers we want? My mate may be a little compromising but I am not. Speak the truth now or I will make you scream it loud!" He snarls at the scared Luna, squatting beside me..

"I . . . I am . . .so sorry! Alpha Jason did pass through here . . . late last night." She finally reveals, her lips shaking.
