Chapter 67 Celeste
Celeste's POV
This time, Alpha Eiden actually sent an email to the rogue assassin group.
He asked them to find out if Alpha Sifon or its members were sending him nightmares on someone's orders.
If his assumption was correct, he wanted them to discover who had paid Alpha Sifon or its members.
Why did I make it sound like Alpha Eiden was asking for help from another group?
Of course, yesterday I recommended that he contact my group without arousing any suspicion. There was no way he would suddenly assume I was the Alpha of that group.
That morning, I read Alpha Eiden's email, which he had sent to my group email the previous night. He used his personal email because he didn't want anyone else to know about this, and he trusted us.
Yeah, everyone prefers to use their personal email and asks us to keep their data safe.
I accepted Alpha Eiden’s request and forwarded his email to the head warrior, who would decide which agent would look into the information.
A wide smile spread across my lips. Alpha Eiden thanked us and sent a down payment. He looked genuinely happy and relieved.
What if he finds out who I really am? I wonder what he'll tell me, and whether he will distance himself from me.
"Too bad, he'll never know who I am," I muttered.
But no one knows what the future holds; maybe one day I'll tell him, for whatever reason.
I read Alpha Eiden's message with an amused smile. He told me he had already emailed the Rogue Assassin Black Birds Group and was now waiting for them to contact him again once they had the necessary information.
'I like what you do,' my wolf commented. 'You seem mysterious and know everything.'
'I also enjoy my work.' I smiled, imagining what expression Alpha Eiden would make when he learned the truth about me.
Late in the afternoon, Beta Dylan arrived with files. I only get snacks and drinks from him in the morning.
I looked at Beta Dylan as he sat at my desk. He looked thoughtful.
“Did you tell your beloved ex-mate to contact us?” Beta Dylan loved to accuse me without proof. He wasn’t afraid of being wrong.
“Yes.” I nodded. “Alpha Yon and Alpha Greg already know about it. So we should find out.”
Beta Dylan didn’t say anything because I was absolutely right.
“You seem really happy that he contacted our group.” Beta Dylan raised an eyebrow.
“Why wouldn’t I be happy? We’ll get income and new clients,” I said.
Beta Dylan was in a dilemma, but he couldn’t be upset with me because we needed the money.
“What about those rogue intel?” I asked him.
I didn't want us to discuss it any further because he would definitely tell me that he loved me very much.
He always talked about his feelings for me whenever the topic of conversation related to Alpha Eiden.
“Our agents have threatened them,” he said proudly. Our members never disappointed our clients or us. “Those rogue intel agents have promised to pretend they know nothing.”
“That’s good,” I said. “I hope they don’t break their promise.”
“They won’t.” Beta Dylan shook his head with a wicked grin. “Our agents will be watching them for the rest of their lives.”
Yesterday, some of our agents overheard a conversation between some rogue intel.
They learned that the man wearing a scent-concealing perfume, jacket, mask, hat, and glasses who frequently visited Liam's kindergarten and spent time with me and my two sons was Alpha Eiden.
Somehow, they were able to uncover Alpha Eiden's cover.
I sent some of my men to silence those rogue intel. Alpha Eiden didn't need to know about that.
But one thing we were thankful for was that they didn't know my true identity.
"I agree with Gamma Silas. We should consider recruiting those rogue intel members. We need a lot of new agents," I said seriously.
"Our agents have been significantly reduced lately because we've been focusing on monitoring Liam, the werewolf-hating organization, the people searching for the rogue assassin group, and the rogue intel who knows about Alpha Eiden," Beta Dylan said irritably.
I grimaced. We didn't expect things to get this complicated. If Levi and I were regular members, we wouldn't have to go to such lengths to hide who we really were.
"We'll talk about that tomorrow," I said. Beta Dylan nodded in agreement.
"Do you like me yet?"
I sighed tiredly at his question. "I already said I won't like you. You go find your mate."
"I don't want to find my mate." Beta Dylan looked at me deeply, wanting me to remember his words. "You will be my mate."
I stared at him coldly. Moon Goddess, I don’t understand why you’d write such a strange scenario. You shouldn’t have let Beta Dylan fall for me.
Beta Dylan left my office. I shook my head.
Why didn't Benedict tell me when he found out his brother liked me? It was too late for me to distance myself from him or stop him from loving me.
I took a break from work and stepped away from the unpleasant atmosphere that Beta Dylan had left behind in my office. I needed to clear my head.
“Hi, Liam, Levi. Do you want to sit in the backyard with me?” I smiled broadly at the boys playing in the playroom.
“Okay, Mommy.” They nodded and immediately put down their toys.
Sitting on the grass under a clear sky is truly relaxing.
I’m so grateful to be alive today. I can’t imagine my two sons growing up without me.
Ugh, stop it, Celeste. You’re such an overthinker.
“Mom, I got a butterfly.” Levi showed me the butterfly, its wings clamped between his fingers.
“Hey, let her go. Poor thing.” Liam shook his head in disapproval. Levi grinned mischievously, then let the butterfly fly away. “She’s pretty, isn’t she? We shouldn’t kill innocent creatures.”
I smiled. Liam had taught Levi many good things.
“Mom.” Liam approached me. He squeezed my hand and looked at me hesitantly. “I want to video call Alpha Eiden.”
“Okay. I’ll let him know.” I stroked his cheek with a big smile.
\[Liam wants to talk to you.\] I sent the message to Alpha Eiden. Five minutes later, I got a response. \[Okay.\]
Alpha Eiden contacted us first.
I was startled when I saw his face on the screen. He was surprised too, but he recovered quickly. He smiled and waved at me.
“Hello,” we said in unison. Then we smiled shyly.
I quickly handed my phone to Liam and moved to sit a little further away from them.
I felt my heart pounding and my cheeks heating up, but I didn’t know why, and I didn’t want to find out.
'Mm, I suspected you,' my wolf commented. 'But I don’t like my guess.'
'I’m sure you’re wrong, Alea.' I didn't want to hear my wolf's assumptions.
