Chapter 65 Eiden

Chapter 65 Eiden
Eiden's POV

The process was speedy. We were only at the Purple Forest Group for half an hour.

Alpha Sifon did not hold my hand and did not cast a spell.

Alpha Sifon stared into his crystal ball with full concentration for ten minutes, without saying a word and maintaining his expression.

Then he turned his eyes to me and told me that I would no longer have nightmares every time I closed my eyes.

I was so happy to hear that. It made me eager for nightfall.

I paid Alpha Sifon generously, even though he never named a price.

I transferred the money to Celeste. The information hadn't come easily, and since she never mentioned an amount, I estimated the price myself.

Leaving Purple Forest Group, I took Celeste, Liam, and Levi to lunch at our favorite restaurant. They gave us a table without a reservation, as we were regular customers.

"They treat their regular customers very well." I nodded, satisfied with their service. "It's rare to find a restaurant with such rules."

“All the food is delicious.” Levi joined in the praise, staring at the menu with hungry eyes.

"We didn't make a mistake in choosing this restaurant." Liam also shared his opinion. "We don't need to look elsewhere." He had already chosen his lunch and just needed to inform the waiter waiting at the front of the room.

"Exactly. We're comfortable in this restaurant. So why try anywhere else?" said Celeste. She was the one who recommended this restaurant to me.

The first time I came to this restaurant was to meet Celeste, Benedict, and Levi. That was where we discussed whether Liam was my son and whether he was willing to let me into his life.

I was not sure if they remembered Benedict every time we were here.

The VVIP room sat at the back of the restaurant. Two large windows on our right faced a lily garden, and the bright lighting kept the room from feeling closed in.

We didn't sit in chairs, but it was really nice sitting cross-legged on the warm carpet.

We told the waiter our order and waited twenty minutes for them to return with it.

No one spoke as we ate. I smiled as I watched Liam and Levi eat with gusto.

We were stuffed. There was a moment of silence before I spoke.

“I hope Alpha Sifon isn't lying,” I said, staring at the empty plates. “I don’t want to have any more nightmares.”

“Trust him.” Celeste nodded at me. “What you’re experiencing isn’t normal. You have nightmares every time you fall asleep, and they feel so real, you remember them so clearly.”

“You’re right.” My brows knitted together as I processed Celeste’s words and remembered Alpha Sifon’s strange remark.

“Do you think my nightmares are from magic?” I looked at Celeste questioningly, as if she already knew the answer.

“Did someone come to Alpha Sifon, pay him to send those nightmares to me?” Alpha Sifon’s words made me think the same as Beta Serena.

“I don’t know.” Celeste shook her head. She, too, was thinking seriously. “Alpha Sifon asked you not to ask who sent those nightmares to you. He clearly knows who made you like that.”

“It must have something to do with magic.” I pounded the table, my heart racing. “It could have been Alpha Sifon, or someone else in his group. They’re the only ones still practicing magic.”

It didn't seem like Alpha Sifon, as he was willing to help me and even protected me from all kinds of magic.

I wanted to feel relieved and safe, but I still hadn't proven whether last night was the last time I'd have nightmares.

"Are you going to find out who's been keeping you awake for the past few months?" Celeste asked.

"I'm not sure I can find out," I replied. "Alpha Sifon begged me not to ask him about it."

I was surprised to see Liam paying attention to me. He was eager to know what I was thinking.

“I don’t know if the intel rogues can get information from the Purple Forest Group.” If they could, why didn’t the intel rogues I met suggest I go to Alpha Sifon’s house?

“I will catch the person who made me afraid to sleep," I growled, my fists clenched tightly.

"I'll make him suffer every day for four years." A wicked grin formed on my face. That person would regret it and beg for my forgiveness. It thrilled me just to think about it.

"You should try asking the rogue assassin group. Maybe they can find him," Celeste said. "You don't have to worry about relying on them as long as you trust your warrior spies."

"I'll consider it," I said.

My wolf also said the same thing as Celeste. If I wanted more accurate and faster results, Rogue Assassins was the right choice.

“I also want to know who that person is and why they did that to you,” Liam said. “Please let me know when you find them.”

I didn't expect Liam to say such things to me without embarrassment or nervousness. Curiosity was getting the better of him.

“Sure.” I nodded. “I'll tell you.”

We enjoyed our time together in calm and warmth, forgetting about Alpha Sifon, nightmares, and so on.

That day, I couldn't take them to the mall. I had work to finish.

However, upon arriving at the pack, I received a threat from the elders. They would come to my mansion if I didn't meet them at their residence.

I was too reluctant to meet them.

Beta Serena told me not to underestimate the threat. The group members would make a scene once they saw the elders leaving their residence for my mansion.

I sat alone on the long sofa in front of the hundred-year-old elders.

“You finally listened to us. Do we have to threaten you every time we want to talk to you?” asked the youngest elder. More accurately, they were interrogating me.

“Why are you avoiding us?” asked another elder.

“No. You all misunderstand.” I shook my head.

I couldn’t stand listening to your chatter. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell them that.

"Then why? We didn't ask you to come every day." The oldest elder finally spoke.

I didn't answer, and the silence lingered for a few seconds.

"What do you want to ask me this time?" I wasn't into small talk and wanted to get back to my mansion.

"Why have you been visiting the rogue clan so often these past few months?" asked the youngest elder.

All eyes were on me. They demanded an answer.

I'd already discussed this with my wolf, but I still doubted they could keep my secret.

'They're trustworthy,' my wolf said. 'They won't tell anyone about your stupidity. Just pray they don't lecture you.'

I took a deep breath and let it out quickly. I'd better tell them now so I don't get the same question from them again.

"I actually met my mate six years ago." My words shocked them.

"I rejected her after we completed the bond, but without my knowledge, she was pregnant with my child. I found out three months ago." I watched their shocked faces, speechless.

"My ex-mate used to be a werewolf. Then she became a rogue because her second mate was a rogue." I didn't need to explain to them anymore why I often visited the rogue clan. "My son is still a werewolf."

“Moon Goddess, how foolish of you.” The oldest elder shook his head with a heavy sigh.

“I hope you will keep my secret,” I said seriously. “My ex-mate and my son don’t want anyone else to know about them.”

I spoke again before they could ask. “Relax,” I said. “I’m trying to build a bond with him as his father. I need him to trust me first.”

They nodded in understanding and promised that my secret was safe with them, and that they hoped to meet my son soon before they died. They were overreacting.
