Chapter 30 Eiden
Eiden's POV
The fight between my wolf and Alpha Jackson's wolf was over. The man and his wolf acknowledged my wolf's victory.
News of our fight had spread widely, though we hadn't told the media; only those closest to us knew. No one questioned why we'd fought, as this wasn't the first time something like this had happened.
“Damn it. I don’t like you and your wolf.” Alpha Jackson snorted, giving me an annoyed look as he sat down across from me.
“Your wolf doesn’t really want to fight my wolf,” I said, shooting him an offended look. “Just tell him you actually want to have a boxing match with me in the ring.”
"No, you've got me wrong," Alpha Jackson said with a shake of his head. "I'm bored with boxing. Lately, I'm into freestyle fights." He flashed a grin.
He leaned in just to tell me about whatever he was currently into, clearly hoping I’d be interested too. “If you’re up for a freestyle fight, let’s set a day. Sooner is better.”
"If you're so bored and need someone to entertain you, find someone else." I hissed sharply. "I'm sure you can find one easily."
“I’m picky,” he said. “I don’t fight just anyone, and I don’t force people into fights. I’m not that cruel.”
I stared at him expressionlessly. We were enemies, but we were like friends. This was our relationship. It was so strange. I even wondered how I'd understood his often provocative behavior.
“This isn’t the first time I’ve caught your spy warriors. Usually, you just let them serve their punishment or have your warriors hunt mine down in your pack,” I said, reminding him that we were enemies.
“So, tell me what they told you about me?” I rested my elbow on the arm of the sofa and propped my chin up.
The two spy warriors locked up in the camp dungeon had definitely told their head warrior everything they heard, and he would’ve passed it all on to Alpha Jackson.
“Wait a minute. Let me drink my tea.” Alpha Jackson finished his cup and then refilled it. “I didn’t really want to tell you.”
“I knew you were going to bring it up; otherwise, we wouldn’t be sitting here.” I glared at him, my jaw clenched. “You’re going straight back to your pack. You don’t even care if your wolf loses.”
“You’re really good at analyzing.” He nodded with a faint smile. “I didn’t have much time. So I asked my wolf to fight yours for just an hour.”
I was irritated with him, but I still wanted to know whether the intel his warrior spies dug up about me matched what I suspected.
“You have a big secret you’re hiding even from the elders.” He grinned evilly, his eyes gleaming with triumph. “You have two children with your girlfriend.”
My assumption was correct, but he assumed Celeste was my girlfriend. That meant no one had ever mentioned Celeste being my ex-girlfriend. Yeah, the only ones who knew were Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
“I don’t understand what you’re thinking.” His brows knitted together as he stared straight at me. “Instead of finding your mate, you got your girlfriend pregnant.”
I hope the fact that Celeste was my ex-mate doesn't get out before I reveal it. But it all depended on Celeste’s decision; whether she’d tell anyone Liam was her son.
Why was I thinking about that? I didn’t even know if Liam wanted to be my heir.
“Your two sons are grown up.” Alpha Jackson looked at me questioningly. “Did you just find out your girlfriend is pregnant with your child? They’re twins?”
Liam and Levi are like twins. They had Celeste’s eyes.
“Why would I tell you?” I raised an eyebrow. “You’re not my friend.” I hissed sharply. “You know about my personal life because you’re my enemy.”
Alpha Jackson was shocked for a second before he laughed. The idiot had just remembered our true relationship.
“I didn’t realize you had a child.” He looked confused, his probing gaze still fixed on me. “I never heard you were dating a rogue. How could that woman be a rogue?”
I held my breath without realizing it. If Alpha Jackson spread the news, everyone would have the same questions. Celeste would definitely be uncomfortable with others finding out.
“Are you seriously asking me that?” I said coldly. “Do you think I’ll answer?”
Alpha Jackson grinned. He took another sip of his tea. “I’d love to know your secret.”
He stood up with a warning look. “If you kill my two warrior spies, I’ll make sure everyone knows you have twins.”
“Okay. Deal.” I nodded and shook his hand.
Damn it.
I need to find out something about him to threaten him.
I hate being underestimated.
After Alpha Jackson returned to his pack, I went to the warrior camp to discuss with Gamma Nolan and Delta Sophia. But before that, I saw two of Alpha Jackson's spy warriors in the dungeon.
“I already know what you found out about me.” I looked at the two men, their wrists and ankles cuffed. Too bad I came when they weren’t being punished. “Your Alpha asked me to confirm it after our wolves fought.”
They stayed silent. Smart choice. No need to give me a reason to get more annoyed with them.
Before leaving the prison, I asked them something I couldn't ask Alpha Jackson: “Be honest. Did you take pictures or record them? You know exactly who I’m talking about.”
"We took photos from the back and from their side profiles, but they weren't clear," one of the prisoners replied.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.
I went to the head warrior's office. It was our favorite place to discuss important matters. The owner wasn't in, so he let Gamma Nolan, Delta Sophia, and me chat without him.
"Alpha Jackson already knows about Celeste, Liam, and Levi," I said, my brows knitted together, revealing my brain was working hard on the problem. "He guessed Celeste was my ex-girlfriend, and Liam and Levi were twins."
“It seems like all our guesses were right,” said Gamma Nolan with a restless face. “I apologize, Alpha. We were too late to discover that those two warrior spies were watching your house.”
“Stop apologizing. I’m tired of hearing it.” I waved my hand. Then I sighed. “It already happened. Now we just have to make sure Alpha Jackson doesn’t find out anything else.”
“Does he know you often go to the rogue clan?” asked Delta Sophia.
I shook my head. Realization hit me, and anxiety gripped me.
"He knows Celeste is a rogue. So he likely knows about my frequent visits to the rogue clan, but since he, like me, has never attacked a rogue, he didn't bother digging any deeper." I concluded.
I clenched my fists through gritted teeth. “He felt it was enough to just threaten me with the information he already knew.”
"If Alpha Jackson already knows about it, can I assume Alpha Andrew, Alpha Romeo, and Alpha Henry know too?" Gamma Nolan's words made me even more frustrated.
I grabbed my hair with my eyes closed. Guilt grew in my chest. I had promised Celeste, Liam, and Levi that no one would know about them when they stayed in my house.
“Should I stop seeing Liam?” I muttered with teary eyes fixed on Gamma Nolan and Delta Sophia.
However, I had promised Liam that I would meet him tomorrow.
“Are people out there already questioning why I keep visiting the rogue clan? They know our pack doesn’t attack rogues, and I don’t have any business partners from the rogue clan.” I leaned back, my chest heavy like a stone had settled in it.
I can't imagine not seeing them. They're already a part of my life.
Liam has opened up to me more and is willing to look at me for longer.
Is there no way I can meet them without anyone knowing? I don't want to just text Celeste.
“Let’s think about this slowly, Alpha,” Gamma Nolan reassured me. “We can definitely find a solution.”
“Let’s ask Beta Serena for her opinion, too. Maybe she has another idea," Delta Sophia said, smiling faintly at me.
I took a deep breath and exhaled with difficulty. Every problem has a solution. I held on to those words.
