Aiden.

I love this.

I love the feeling that she's here to stay. That I will have her to myself without some psycho interfering or threatening us.

I love she chose to come back to me. And I love her mark on me.

When I look at this girl, I feel like crying and smiling at the same time. I marvel at how much she changed everything in my life and whenever I imagine losing her, am not myself again.

I wonder what would have happened if she didn't come into my life.

I will always choose her over anything and anyone else. I don't know what the future holds but as long as she's in my arms like this, am willing to go through hell just to be with her.

I love her so much I can't explain it. I can't explain how my heart pounds in my chest every time I look at her, even though it isn't the first or the second time.

It always feels like the first time I saw her.

When she was taken, I tried to stay strong but I just couldn't.

I trained so hard but the pain wouldn't go away. I broke everything in this house, but I just couldn't comprehend waking up without her with me.

I couldn't miss her smile, her addictive scent, I couldn't miss the way she looks at me, with so much adoration and care.

The beautiful sensations she makes me feel. She's my world and I was so lost without her. I couldn't take it anymore.

I wanted my mate.

I didn't care if anyone thought I was weak. I can be as weak as a feather if it means she'll be here, because I know she'll go through hell for me.

She's the only person that will embrace death with open arms, as long as it doesn't touch me.

Mel is the only person that will burn the whole world to ashes if am not in it. The only person that will kill anyone for me.

How could I let that one person go?

I can't imagine doing that. I will be so dumb to let it happen.

Even my wolf wouldn't let me. So I made the most stupid decision anyone could think of.

I left in the middle of the night for the Alpha King's palace.

I wanted him to take me and let her go, but like the fucked up person he was, he had his bitches perform their magic on me and I ended up useless.

But she was there too. To protect me like she always does.

I was so happy that she was the first person I saw when I woke up. And now staring down at her face, I can't help but smile.

She makes me so happy.

I am glad she's mine. If I were to choose, I would choose Mel every day.

I lower my lips on her closed eyelids and her beautiful eyes flutter open.

My mate stares at me with narrowed eyes and it's like she just remembered something. Mel gasps trying to push at my chest but I hold my ground.

I don't like that.

"What is it, babe?" I murmur caressing her cheek.

How is she this beautiful?

"Aiden, am stinking. I need a whole day of bathing to feel normal again". She says exaggeratedly and I laugh.

She must be feeling awful.

The good thing is that since she shifted her OCDs decreased, and I can't imagine how she would be feeling right now.

" Well, am stinking too, let's take care of that problem together" I smirk suggestively but my beauty scowls at me.

"Don't even go there Aiden" she playfully hits my chest, and I chuckle carrying her naked body to the bathroom.

Our room is messy. I haven't opened my mind link so far so I don't know how everything went.

As far as am concerned, our team did well and most of the King's men had joined our side. The witches were our only weakness.

"I want the water hot, help me with the hair please," she says when I put her down and start rummaging through the cabinets pulling out every kind of disinfectant and the beauty soaps we have, most of them belong to her.

I'm guessing we will be here for a while.

"Anything for you babe" I mumble setting the temperature hot.

I want the room to be clean the moment we get out of here, but am hesitant to open the mind link.

I know we probably lost some of our men, and that's one thing any alpha wouldn't want for their pack.

But for my mate to be comfortable, the room should be cleaned when she leaves this bathroom. She deserves that.

I open the mindlink expecting to be bombarded with questions or demands but everything is cool.

I feel the presence of my pack members but none of them is talking. The atmosphere is tense and j don't know why.

It's weird.

'Carl' I call out to my beta and he immediately responds. It's like he was expecting that.

'Aiden, are you okay, you got hurt and no one is allowed up there, what's happening?' I furrow my brows looking at my mate.

Did she give that order?

'Am fine Carl, have people come clean my room'

'Are you sure? Is Mel okay?'

' We are in the shower as we speak, I will see you later' I tell him putting back the barrier.

"Babe" I call grabbing the shampoo bottle from her hands.

" Yes," she turns to look at me biting her lip.

" What happened earlier, Carl sounds worried and my pack members seem anxious?" I pull her into the middle of the shower and start applying the liquid soap to her hair.

"Oh, when you got hitt, Athena teleported you here, and I had to shift to follow you, it felt amazing" she exclaims grinning and I mirror her expression.

I need to take her on a run, maybe tomorrow. It's time our wolves meet each other.

"And..".I Wanna find out about the order, not that I mind if she made it.

" Athena touched my head and I started feeling weird and told me to Mark you" yeah I remember waking up after she marked me.

And her scent had changed. She smelled like a she-wolf in heat.

She marked me and Athena made her heat appear.

She-wolves only get pregnant when they mate at an auspicious moment, like during heat or on the full moon. It only means one thing, Athena wanted her to become pregnant.

I remember when Mel said we will have a son, Maybe this is it.

Goddess!, I will be the happiest man if that happened. I can't imagine her carrying my pup.

"Why are you smiling,?" I look down at my mate and smile some more.

"Nothing" I massage her scalp and she closes her eyes sighing in enjoyment.

I repeat the procedure of washing her hair countless times before starting on her body.

After taking the longest shower of the decade, Mel isn't satisfied yet. So I set up a bathtub for her, and leave the bathroom to get dressed.

I nod at the women who are cleaning my room and head out. I need to find carl, I need to know how everything went down.

Descending the stairs, pack members submit to me on the way and apart from the abnormally quiet environment, everything seems normal.

'Where are you?' I link Carl entering the big sitting room where teenage wolves are watching Tv.

'In the kitchen' I enter the said location where Carl and some of the alphas are sitting. Gabriel and Taylor are there too but something seems off with them.

"Is she okay?" Gabriel asks standing from his chair and I nod sitting on the counter.

"That girl was hot Aiden, how did you gett so lucky?" I ignore the useless question from my fellow alpha and face my beta.

"How did it go?"

" Most of our men are okay, but I don't know how Mel will take this" he tiredly drags a hand on his face and I know something is up.

"What's going on?" I look from Gabriel to Carl and both of them look overwhelmed.

"We found a body at the pack borders when we arrived, and it had a message" Ty talks for the first time and I shift my gaze to his.

"Whose" I mumble dreading the unspoken name.
