Chapter-49 Increasing desires

VALERIE'S POV

"They think you are turning into that slowly, and you should be observed closely. Probably ban from going out and interacting with crowds. Stay away from blood and -"

"You mean to say I should be kept like a prisoner," I looked into his eyes and deadpanned, not at all believing him.

What the hell are they to think they can put these restrictions on me?! How dare they?! Have you forgotten who I am?

I smirked and looked at Logan, who held my hand.

"You are not going anywhere. I forbid you from entering the council room," Logan looked at me before looking at Ambrose, probably asking for help, and I smirked.

"Do you have a problem if I go inside the council meeting room and put my opinion on the table too?" I looked at Ambrose with the most innocent face I could muster, and he looked into my eyes before smiling and pecking my lips.

"Never," he commented, and I shrugged before walking inside.

"Valerie, wait!" Logan rushed behind me, and I walked even faster. As I turned around the corner, I didn't expect to bump into someone and would've almost fallen if not for the person who held my hand.

"Careful, sweetie," I looked up and saw a Luna smiling back at me.

"Thank you," I said and was about to walk around her when she held my hand.

"I have been wanting to tell you this since I saw you in the council hall yesterday. You are really beautiful. I don't know if you ever came across our pack or not. We would love to have someone as pretty and strong as you. Actually, I run a small organization about women empowerment for she-wolves who want to work equally with males. I would really love it if you could give it a thought," Luna said non-stop, and I looked at her with a smile.

"Can I get your card?" I extended my hand, and she looked at me surprised, as if not expecting any response from me.

"Sure, here it is," she said, and I looked at the card before dialing the number on it.

"That's my number. Save it. Let's discuss it later," I winked at her and smiled as she nodded at me excitedly.

"Awesome, I would love someone as jolly as you are working with us," she said.

"She is anything but jolly. If I were you, I would stay at least 100 meters away from her," Logan commented before he held my hand and pulled me away from the council meeting room.

"You are not going to create a mess anywhere. You hear me?" He looked into my eyes sternly, and I let my eyes droop, letting my wolf take a little control over me.

"Are you ordering me, Logan?" My voice changed, and Logan looked at me with a loud huff.

"So you have started letting your wolf take control? Bravo. Can you get any scarier than you already are? You are already a walking red flag for the council. If they heard you like this, do you have any idea what kind of ruckus it will be?" Logan talked in a hushed voice.

"Isn't that what I love about you? You are good at hiding things, Logan. Don't give me that look. I know you can handle everything pretty well. The council knows nothing about the deal between Ambrose and me, and it better stay that way," I smiled at him before stepping closer to him, letting him see the side of me that I never want anyone to see.

"Or you know how much I love to ruin things, people," I raised my gaze and looked at his front under my lashes. His heartbeat increased, and it was catching up to my senses really well.

How nice would it feel to have his heartbeat around my hand?

'Valerie, you are scaring me now,' Adele sighed, and I smiled at my innocent wolf.

'You are the only one who would call a white wolf innocent, knowing all too well what kind of destruction we can make once let out,' Adele pouted and scowled, making me smile.

If it had been any other time, I would've taken my time arguing and messing with her, but it looks like I am quite distracted today.

Logan's pumping heart was making me feel hungry.

Will his heart really feel good in my hands?

I will only come to know if I touch it. And for that, I will have to plunge my hand straight through his chest.

It was always my favorite way to kill someone. I always thought because I liked the mess I created, but now that I know the truth about myself, I didn't know it had such a good reason behind it.

I like the feeling of pumping hearts against my palm before I pull them out. The idea suddenly doesn't feel so repulsive.

Will Ambrose be thrilled to know about my little discovery? Will he? I bit my lower lip, practically detaching my gaze from his chest to back to his eyes.

"You won't, right? Tell anyone, I mean," I asked, and he nodded.

"I won't tell a soul. Can you stop making a face at me? The face that says you want to eat me alive using the best cutlery you have?" Logan groaned, and I smiled before stepping back.

"I didn't know I had that look on my face," I smiled at him innocently, turning my gaze to my left when I felt someone walking towards us.

This... My senses are growing better too. Why was it happening now after all that time? It's not like I fed on Ambrose for the first time. Is it because of this weird mark on my skin that came out of nowhere? I narrowed my eyes before pulling my shirt down.

"What are you doing?" Logan nearly shouted, and I rolled my eyes.

The mark was still there. It's as if someone has carved it on my body, like a tattoo that I don't know anything about. I sighed.
