CHAPTER 152: And Then They Were Four

CHAPTER 152: And Then They Were Four
Alora’s POV

I woke up the next day with great pain stuck in my lower abdomen.

I had felt it even before I woke up and I did. The pain doubled as I let out a small whimper, not wanting to wake Morgan, who slept peacefully curled up on my side, his left leg draped over my hip.

My pendant began to glow in the dark room, getting hotter by the second. The. Morgan followed, bringing him out of his deep sleep.

Sweat slicked my skin, and my body lurched before I could even think. I pushed him away and bent over the side of the bed and puked all I had in my stomach.

Morgan’s hands were on me in an instant, steadying my shoulders. His voice broke with raw panic. “Alora!" Goddess, what’s happening?”

I tried to answer, but another wave of dry heave overwhelmed me, bile rose in my throat and tears stung my eyes.

Morgan lifted me gently, his arms tightening as if he could physically hold me together, and bellowed through the mindlink for the doctor.

The door burst open minutes later, and the healer strode in with a suitcase.

“What is it this time”? Morgan asked, his chest thumping loudly as he held me to his chest, using his bare hands to clean the remnant of the vomit from my mouth.

Soon Chloe, Harry, Jones, Leo and Selene burst through the door, their eyes wild with panic.

“Give me a minute,” the doctor replied.

He knelt by the bed. His palm pressed against my brow, fingers searching my pulse. His frown deepened. His eyes widened, and he cleared his throat, averting Morgan’s gaze. “Speak!” Morgan thundered, unable to contain his anger.

“It’s not what you think.”

Morgan’s jaw tightened like stone. “What do you mean by that?" She was fine last night. Why is she suffering now?

The healer didn’t answer immediately. “I will need to re-examine her because once the words are out, I can’t take them back.”

Moments later, the healer froze. His hands shook as he drew back, eyes wide. “This… this is impossible.”

Morgan’s head snapped toward him. “What is it?”

The healer swallowed. “Alpha, the Luna is pregnant. Not only pregnant…she has been for over two months. The heartbeat of the pup is strong and steady.”

The room went utterly silent. My own breath caught.

Morgan stared at him like he couldn’t process the words. “Two months?” His voice cracked. “That would mean…”

Realization struck like lightning. My lips trembled. “The first night,” I whispered hoarsely. “Morgan… the very first night we were together.”

Selene walked close, a wide smile on her face as she nodded slowly. “This explains a lot and puts much more in perspective. I had suspected the same thing, but I couldn’t will myself to believe it.”

Then she turned to me, her eyes glistening with tears. “This explains why your body couldn’t heal itself. Why the pregnancy test strips showed nothing. Your mother went through the same ordeal while she was carrying you. I didn’t want to believe it…you’re carrying another moonborn Luna. This time, her voice broke, and she knelt beside me, enveloping me in her arms.

“Violet tried to hurt you, but she didn’t even know the wolfbane made you stronger.”

I felt the tears slide down my temple. “Did my mother suffer a lot?" I asked, watching her every reaction.

She gave a small sad smile. "Maybe due to ignorance, but you have us now, Luna, all of us and I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make sure you have the best experience,” she vowed, pulling me back into her arms, then she wiped my tears and stepped away.

By this time, Morgan’s eyes were also glistening with tears. It was the first time I saw any iota of tears in his face.

He pressed his forehead to mine, his breath ragged. His hands trembled against my cheeks. “You’ve been carrying our child this whole time. And I didn’t feel it.” His voice cracked with a mixture of awe and guilt. “You gave me a gift greater than anything, and I didn’t even know.”

I cupped his face, forcing him to meet my eyes. “We know now. And that’s what matters.”

He drew me closer and caught my lower lips in a searing kiss, a kiss that spoke volumes.

Then I was surrounded by family, Leo, Jones, Chloe, Selene.

A rub here

A kiss there

A hug

A pat on the back.

The pack link opened up, and I felt the excitement going through the link.

We were a family

We were a pack

And it was green green green.

Two Months Later

Selene stood in the Crimson Order Pack event hall, while Alpha Lucien went on one knee.

“Selene,” his voice carried, deep and unshaken, “I denied you once because of pride, and I lost decades I can never reclaim. We wasted decades of our lives chasing the wrong things, the things that were already mine and forgot to chase the things that mattered. Because of this, we lost a lot of time we can never reclaim. Which is why I will not waste another moment. Will you be mine? Truly mine… my mate and my equal, for whatever time the Goddess grants us?”

The High Priestess, who had stood tall through wars and betrayals, gasped like a teenage girl. Her eyes glistened with tears as she nodded before words found her. “Yes, Lucien. A thousand times yes.”

The crowd erupted with chants, cheers and howls.

Lucien took a step closer and kissed her gently, sealing decades of longing in that single touch.

For the first time, Selene had chosen love over duty, and the Goddess did not strike her down.

She blessed her and enlarged her coast.

Later, that same night, after the ceremony was over, we went back to the Bloodfang pack. I was feeling restless and out of it.

My belly was round now, heavy with life, and Leo curled up against me. Every movement of the pup reminded me that miracles truly exist.

“Can I?” Leo asked, hovering his hand just above my stomach.

I guided him closer. His palm settled on my protruding stomach, and almost instantly, the pup kicked.

Leo jerked back in shock, then laughed so hard it filled the room. “He kicked me! He knows me, Luna! He really knows me!”

On hearing the excitement in his voice, Morgan drew close and knelt, his larger hand covering Leo’s and mine. “My turn” he said, just as his hand touched Leo’s, his pendant glowed faintly, and mine answered.

Threads of silver light stretched between them, wrapping around our joined hands. The warmth spreads into my skin. The pup kicked again, stronger than the last time, as though answering the bond.

Leo’s smile trembled, his eyes reflecting the glow from the fireplace. “It feels like… like sparks. But not scary sparks. They’re warm.”

Morgan pressed a kiss to my temple, then lowered his head to rest against my belly.

His voice softened. “He feels us. He knows us already.

Leo pressed his forehead against my bump, whispering secrets only the pup could hear, then he kissed my cheek, while Morgan’s lips found mine. The kiss was gentle, and full of promise.

The baby gave its strongest kick yet. Leo squealed with delight. Morgan kissed me again.

And beneath the moon’s silver light, we weren’t cursed. We weren’t doomed. We were blessed.

The prophecy never spoke of doom alone. It promised that I would reshape the balance of the werewolf world.

I had a choice to either become salvation or destruction, to either become light or shadow.

I chose LOVE

And in the end, it wasn’t prophecy, power, or fate that defined us… it was the love we chose, and the family we built.

And everything I ever desired took shape after that.
